Can someone explain to me why a bitcoin wallet can show 2 different QR codes? Basically I compared the QR code of one of my wallets on blockchain.info to the same wallet address at coinbase and the QR codes look different. Is this possible?
Yes. The QR codes most likely contain different information but that information still applies to the same address. The one your wallet created might have some more information like the amount of Bitcoin to send (if it was created when you clicked something like "request payment" in the wallet)whereas blockchain.info's probably doesn't. Also, different QR codes can be different because they are capable of encoding more data, just that not all of that space is used by the QR code. It will still look different even if the data is the same.Thanks!
