Solo mining is fairly straight forward these days.  I think both BFG and CGMiner have the required info in their readme files.

To make sure your mining just keep an eye on your hash rate.  Also the Worker Utility, WU:, will also increment as your highest share found increases.

Give it a whirl and if you have trouble post your problems or questions in the mining support forum and you should get plenty of help.

Edit:  I have no idea what an Armory Wallet is.  Bitcoin-QT can be mined against in server mode though.

Do you have free electricity?
If not, read on. If do, skip my post.

I'd advise to take same amount of BTC you spent on those miners and go to one of dice sites. Pick 2x reward and press hi or low.
Pretty much same thing (probable MUCH greater chance of winning!) but at least you wont have to spend $$ on electricity.

I don't know how much combined hash power you have, but it doesn't look like you'll mine anything in like years...and that's just silly with not free electricity and stuff.

I have a few Antminer U1s, and am going to be getting a Rockminer R-BOX soon.

I am considering running some or all of these as solo miners, essentially playing the lottery with them.

My worst fear in doing this isn't that I will never find a block, but rather that I will set my rig up incorrectly, and either find a block and lose it, not collect the reward properly, or actually have the thing set up so screwy that I have 0% of ever finding anything.

Does anyone have any tips on setting up a solo mining system?

I am currently using bfgminer, and I have an Armory wallet set up on my PC...

Thanks for any help!
