If I get your situation correctly,  you bought bnb so you could use it to buy other altcoin like eth, ltc etc.  First,  you need to know that many altcoin do not share the same blockchain,  and to buy different altcoin,  you will need a different wallet for those coin and you can buy some of them only on centralized exchange.  The reason you see ltc bep2 Eth bep2 or btcb is because of binance solutions to trading these coin in real time without having to trade them on their respective chain, so they wrap them in binance chain!

From what I read in your article, the conclusion is that you made the wrong delivery, you should have sent it to the ETH chain but instead you sent it to the BSC, if my understanding is correct, as far as I know, the trust wallet addresses of ETH and BSC are the same, try yours check this correctness on your wallet, and you can simply add the Binance smart chain if you are not confused where the feature is, it is located in the upper right corner of the trust wallet wallet, there you can search for Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and you will be able to see your money there.

The mistake you made was switching from ethereum to bsc.You have no business with bsc unless you want to send the Ethereum to a BSC AMM like pancakeswap or MDEX. Send it to Binance and withdraw the Ethereum again as an erc 20

you have to go back to binance and change it again to the ethereum network. otherwise, you cannot trade it with your preferred token.
it might get a little complicated now. but you already have and that is the solution.
next time, you have to be careful and stay focused on the address where your transfer is going. when trading on the exchange, sometimes we are wrong in choosing a pair.

You can exchange cryptocurrencies right inside Trust Wallet.

And try to add "Smart Chain" on Trust Wallet.

So I have a trust wallet with several altcoins. I created an account on binance and bought some BNB, transferred to trust wallet and was trying to get some small altcoins but realized they’re on the Eth network so I tried to switch binance for Eth. It ended up giving me “eth bep2”. Now I’m unable to trade that for anything or even locate it when I try to switch currencies. Obviously I’m not seeing what’s going on and what I should be doing to fix it so if anyone could help a noob out I would appreciate it. The coins I was trying to buy were LTO, VISR & XTK. However, if the eth bep2 is now only able to trade with binance smart chain coins, I might change what I purchase- assuming coins on the binance smart chain are compatible on trust wallet.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice given to  noob!
BEP2 is not Smart chain network but Binance Chain Network, Smart Chain (BEP20) and Binance Chain ( BEP2 )
You can deposit your tokens to Binance then exchange it to ETH ERC20 or other tokens

So, you are making a mistake send to BSC Chain when you want to send it to ETH Chain?

Trust Wallets has the same system wallet as "Binance" they are support the same address both of the chain "ETH & BSC" so you got the same address for this chain, Try to add "Smart Chain" on Trust Wallet. Your fund should on there, I using Trust Wallet and activated both of chain ETH & BSC and I got the same address for this chain no matter ETH or BSC.

yes you're right, try this method and it should work. the trust wallet mechanism with Binance is the same, they use one address for two different chains. so it doesn't matter which chain you ship to, because it will still go to your wallet.

I think I faced the same problem with the atomic wallet. You can't sell AWC ERC-20 tokens, if you don't have any Ethereum in that wallet. You can't exchange from BNB to ETH tokens or BNB tokens to Ethereum tokens by using "Trust wallet". Send again BNB from Trust wallet to Binance exchange, then withdraw ETH from Binance exchange.

the bep2 tokens are on the binance blockchain a cross between that of eth and that of bsc, the only possibility you have to recover them is the internal swap of the trust wallet,so try to swap between bep2 and bep20 (bsc) but it requires a fee in bnb or try to send them if possible directly to the binance exchange
The author has a different problem. One token is on the Binance Chain (BNB) BEP2 blockchain, the second token is on the Binance Smart Chain, and the other tokens are on the Ethereum ecosystem.
This is a problem, because in every blockchain it is necessary to keep coins on the balance sheet to pay the commission. For trading with small volumes, this is inconvenient, it is better to trade on the exchange, where not all tokens are available.

There is a universal wallet for Binance Chain, Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/binance-chain-wallet/fhbohimaelbohpjbbldcngcnapndodjp
You can find a link to this wallet on the official website in the wallets section.
https://www.binance.org/
But to work on each binance blockchain, you need BNB tokens

I can exchange my eth bep2 for eth bep20 when I click on “swap to smart chain” but it requires BNB for the fee. Would this be the best option? I don’t want to continuously burn currencies up just moving around looking for a solution. The end game is to have something I can use to exchange for other currencies (whereas currently eth bep2 can’t be used to exchange)
Yes, it's the best way if you want to buy those BSC tokens you mentioned. The swap fee over the Binance chain isn't that expensive so you should be fine. It probably wouldn't take you $1 to convert BEP2 to BEP20.

As Op already convert BNB into ETH-BEP2, than OP can't buy VISR and XTK (if it's xToken or xTake) as both of this only available into the ethereum blockchanin, not into the Binance mainnet or Bep2. But OP can only buy LTO from Binance dex as it's listed on there. So, just connect wallet into Binance dex to buy LTO or convert that ETH-Bep2 into BNB so that OP can transfer into Binance again to buy LTO from there. If OP transfer those BNB into Bep20 or BSC wallet, than he/she can't buy LTO from pancake or other AMM as it isn't listed there with liquadity.

You can change this by exchanging Eth to BNB, then BNB to LTO. This is an easier step if you want to get LTO tokens. On TrustWallet there is only BNB to LTO exchange mode or another way to do a Swap. TrustWallet uses two modes, Exchange and Swap. Swap ETH to LTO.

I think that your ETH BEP2 is compliant with the ethereum chain. Have you checked your ETH bep address on etherscan? I guess if you were seeing your asset and then you will able to get your asset.
When you are having ethereum address and it can connect into the BSC chain.  If you are transferring your asset into the BSC address and it might have landed in your wallet but in ethereum chain.

because as far as I know, both ETH and BSC have the same Smart Chain. ie with "0x ....." You are trying to enter the contact address to the Pancakswap exchange. and pair up with Bsc. you can return it first. because bep2 can still be compatible with bep20.

I have both eth and bnb in my wallet, as well as binance smart chain. But the exchange is under “eth bep2”. Now there seemingly isn’t an option to move it away from that, unless I’m missing something obvious.

First, you need to figure out which tokens are in the Ethereum ecosystem and which tokens are in Binance Smart Chain and Binance Chain (BNB) BEP2.

Binance Chain (BNB) BEP2 is a separate blockchain (the very first Binance for Decentralized Trading from the exchange)
https://www.binance.org/en/trade/
It is not compatible with Ethereum wallets.
Wallet starts with bnb ...

Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum wallets are compatible, read the instructions for your wallet.
This is for MetaMask, but you will find similar instructions for the trust wallet as well.
