Charlie, do you have good Drupal skills?  I need help in setting up a store front to sell items for bitcoins.

I've used it but wouldn't say I have great skills but I could certainly help to earn my first couple of BTC's Cheesy

This thread just shows the problem with people that have NO IDEA how this works coming here just hoping to "get rich quick" through some scheme of sorts they heard about on slashdot etc.

Besides him being misinformed on coin generation, what is the "problem"? Would you rather them NOT be a part of bitcoin? That's why a forum is here, to help out. YOU don't have to help if you don't want, just don't belittle people for not fully understanding.

Go to the marketplace section of the forum and offer your services (but I don't think you'll build reputation with offering password hacking).

Kwl i offered my website and logo design skills: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=9510.0

To be profitable, which is becoming increasingly harder with increased competition, you will need a serious mining Rig, 1 or more, and an emphasis on more, GPU. The CPU is not that much of a concern, just the GPU's.  If you are doing it for a hobby and money isn't a concern, than you may break even or make a little. If you are doing it as a business, the competition is hard. Your best bet would be to join a Pool and share rewards - a fee of course. There are several out there. Deepbit is the largest known pool.

But if all you want is BTC, then the previous post is correct. The best thing is to buy them or sell something for them.

Charlie here is what you should expect:

The expected generation output, at 700 Khps, given current difficulty of 244139.48158254 , is 0.00288392463949 BTC per day and 0.000120163526645 BTC per hour.

Of course this doesn't take into effect the randomness of who will get it.

Turn off your client's Generate Option. You are spending more than you are making. However it is there for a good reason, if difficulty falls to an affordable rate, then you can turn it on. But don't expect that anytime soon Smiley

Well how would i make bitcoins then, would i need a rig and how many bitcoins wud i get from 1, i have this graphics card atm: nvidia 550 gtx and they're about £120 each atm..

Thanks for your reply.
buy them or sell something for them.

I'm good at hacking and such, could i offer like 1 facebook password for 1 BTC? xD
Or i have quite good wordpress and joomla skills...

Hi,

I downloaded the Bitcoin wallet software, opened it once i'd followed all the instructions and then clicked generate coins...

I left it for about 17 hours came back and it had not generated any, it said it had 8 connections and around 12k or 125k blocks (cant remember which) but still had not generated any.

It was running at around 700 hash in the bottom left.

Regards,
Charlie
