As long as their are manipulation in the market, it is possible to have market crash. The whales are one of the reason why the price fluctuates time by time. And as a small investor, we cannot avoid to lose some of our money specially if we are not expert in handling crashes.

Every market, be it stock or bitcoin or any monetary related market, has its ups and downs. Crash here however doesnot mean the complete end of the marker. Its a steep and major downfall of the particular stake.
In case of crypto currency, many factors matter in changing its value and bringing any rise or downfall. Recently in december, there were news floating that korea might ban bitcoins which led to a huge downfall in value of bitcoins, despite it being mere speculation. And now since korea stated that it is not going to ban any cryptocurrency, may be rather regulate, then the value is kind of stabilised to around $11k.
This might be considered as a crash aswell but this didnt mean bitcoin ended or is vanished or any sort of such rumors.  With changing market factors, values rise and fall and there remains a possibility of both crashing or rising quite largely.

I think, as long as so called Asia (national government controlled economy) controls crypto economy, anything can happen in a minute.
However most of the world governments saying they are going 'cashless economy' how can this happen forever? Crypto economy is the ultimate economy to liberate everyone. Don't just look at last 3 months, see their trends of more than one year.

Nothing new, but trees doesn't reach the sky. The rise must stop one day as this happened in december.

These negatives news were a good reason for this drop, but this could have happened even without news. These news were here just to increase a bit more the drop factor.

These factors have influenced, but to a lesser extent, than the problems with the audit of the USDT.
Probably they did big sales of bitcoins to show the correct meaning of fiat on their accounts.
