Mine for a Bit

I actually have several GPUs for sale here, but have been informed that the prices that I paid six months ago are now cut in half!  Here is a good example:  I bought the 3080 - MSI GeForce RTX 3080 Ventus 3x 10GB GDDR6X OC Edition for $1450.00 and can be purchased at newegg for $849.  https://www.newegg.com/msi-geforce-rtx-3080-rtx-3080-ventus-3x-plus-10g-oc-lhr/p/N82E16814137686

I am going to continue to mine at a higher hashrate with it and hope to get some returns from it later on.  A good example is the 1080ti from old.

Just as an FYI as of this weekend NiceHash and others have released mining software that gets around the LHR for ETH for most cards.

Just tested and it does work. You need the full miner not the quick miner and it's Windows only at the moment.

Going to be interesting to see if this changes the pricing over the next few days / weeks.

I'm not sure it'll have a positive effect on pricing.  Especially considering we're in a downward spiral.  More hashrate from smaller miners (I assume most LHR owners are little guys) probably means more big operations getting their profit margins squeezed while at the same time smaller miners have more revenue coming in that they will likely immediately dump on the market.  Who knows though, markets aren't exactly the most rational things.  Any increased demand for LHR miners I assume will likely be supplied by those who bought GPUs at higher exchange rates and now are looking at the low exchange rate as an opportunity to earn an ROI in their crypto of choice.

Glad to hear the unlock works, but I may wait until other miners get it figured out before I take the plunge.

Also the gamers are aware of the merge and are working the market in-conjunction.

Are A2000s getting any cheaper?

I'm seeing GPUs suddenly being offered below MSRP everywhere!  I guess all the get rich quick guys decided that spending double on a GPU to mine a shitcoin might not be the best investment.  Personally, I'll be waiting until after summer when heat is again of value before expanding my GPU miners, and hopefully by then we see a 4xxx series card from Nvidia and steep discounts from the GPUs trying to be sold today.

What do you guys think?  Are GPUs suddenly a buy now that they are 1/2 the price they were 90 days ago on the secondary market?  Are low hashrate model buyers regretting ever getting involved in crypto?  What's the best way forward from here for those sitting on a bunch of GPUs?
