Cross posted from the Active Mining thread.

I have given fair warning to the Troll on this forum who has been instigating a hate campaign for too long now.

The information & proof has now all been given to the buyer to do with as they please (legal action) - (see below), now with their consent I have the approval to post the identity of this Troll.

I am posting in this thread due to believing the most damage has been caused here.

This Troll (Crumbs) along with all their historic accounts and current accounts is none other than everybody's not so favorite Bitcoin eccentric.....

Mircea Popescu

This is also the same for the other high profile accounts pankkake and MPOE-PR.

Which are all controlled by Mircea Popescu.

The proof of this has been sent to the person who paid for my services which cannot and will not be shown on here, due to the backlash this will bring including personal information for him and other users who have trusted him.

Due to the real identity of these troll accounts belonging to Mircea Popescu and how close he believes himself to be to the higher echelons of Bitcoin including the Mods/Admins of this forum, i don't believe this post to last long.

The only advice I can give is do not trust any of your data or personal information with this person as it is not safe.

Quote
I have been paid by a member of this board and high value shareholder within the NeoBee security.
I was approached by them through an 'advert' I had placed within a site on the 'DarkWeb'.

With their permission I am broaching this subject on this thread, as through my research into certain identities I have seen first hand the damage they have caused this online community.
They may be posting the full researched information on the NeoBee thread of this user(s) if this does not come to an immediate stop.

Below I am giving a not very 'cryptic' hint to them that they will know in the hope that this stops their online disruption before it gets anymore out of hand.

This user(s) goes by multiple names however I will refer to them only as Crumbs as that is the username they are more famously known for (bar their 'real' online and public persona)

First name contains a c
Last name contains a p

I will not respond to any messages from anybody including this user and anybody else wishing to know their identity.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
Fact. The owner of MPEX has attempted to sell NSFW photos of herself.

Where can I get these / how much?

You really want to see this naked?

I like her toes. I will now go to my grave knowing that I had the pleasure to jacking off to a Goddess' toes.

In re. the black eye, I swore it was just makeup, but now I want to kill the bastard who gave it to her... or suck his toes.

Hey guise, this is how I stole a bunch of BTC from a bunch of idiots just like you in 2012. Hopefully they're all gone and maybe if I manage to get you to ignore everyone who knows about it I can steal a bunch more in 2014.

her pimp gave her a black eye

bet it was a John.

Dah!  You've re-awakened my recent interest in Ice Cube's lyrics:

Quote
You need a nigga with money, so you get a Dopeman
Juice that fool for as much as you can
She likes his car and he gets with her
Got a black-eye 'coz the Dopeman hit her

Let that slide and you pay it no mind
Find that he's slapping you, all the time!
But that's okay 'coz he's so rich
And you ain't nothin' but a Dopeman's bitch

Do what he say and you keep your mouth shut
Poppin' that trash might get you fucked up!
You'll sit and cry if the Dopeman strikes you
He don't give a fuck, he got 2 just like you

Fitting for this situation?  Hard to know.  Personally I doubt it.  The story of a rich Bulgarian with a fairly sharp and acid-tongued female compadre strains credulity.

Thank you for your information ciuciu; I've added some of it to the OP.

Now that we have a good argument on this side, I'm waiting to hear some arguments from the pro-MPEX side.

To be fair the owner has a good bitcoin-otc reputation http://bitcoin-otc.com/viewratingdetail.php?nick=mircea_popescu&sign=ANY&type=RECV

Also i cant find user "ciuciu" on the wot so I cant judge whether they are more or less trustworthy in this regard.

The MPOE-PR user does seem to be abrasive and attack GLBSE at any opportunity.

There has being times where bitcoin-qt fucks up and sends it with an improper fee, so it pretty much never gets confirmed.

Also, you mean if the bet is resolved when your TX isn't confirmed yet, right?

Yes.

The thing is, the way BitBet is set up once a bet is marked to close early this doesn't become effective until the blockchain watcher has seen one new block. It's not immediate.

Obviously qt might malfunction. The solution there is to use better Bitcoin clients.

Thanks for clearing that up

So what are "gracious donations to shareholders"? They are bets that are placed when the a bet was still open, but get's closed before your bet TX is confirmed by miners. So say you are about to bet 10 BTC on "Yes" for "North Korea will launch more missiles during May". If North Korea launches the missiles while you're sending the TX for the bet, BitBet.us will just keep the Bitcoins and not return them.

In other words they're bets made by people after the event, trying to suck some money out of the "poor suckers" who bet before them. Herp derp, so sad that they end up short.

I think the Bitcoin community could do without shady business like polimedia/mpex/bitbet/others we don't know about yet. If you think the same, spread the word. Other actions you can take is to contact nic.us and nic.co and let them know that their TLD domains are being used for possibly illegal activities. The .us domain names are also meant for entities residing in the US, so just mentioning this might be enough to bring the domains down. I already emailed the domain registrars, but more messages should not hurt.

You realise that every "exchange" in the Bitcoin world which is allowing the trading of securities/commodities is likely breaking a ton of laws in a number of jurisdictions.  The Securities sub-forum alone would keep regulators busy for a long time.   Just be aware that once regulators start looking into these kinds of services, the ones you like and support are just as likely to get caught in the net as the ones you don't like.

It is very likely that Polimedia SRL (Romanian limited liability) is breaking at bare minimum the Romanian law in three ways, there might be more and some international ones too. First there's gambling without a license (bitbet.us):

Quote
Gambling License Romania
The authorization/organization of the activity of gambling in Romania is governed by State monopoly.

The State can grant the right of setting up the activity of games of chance according to the law, on the basis of a license, for the organization of each type of games of chance. The games of chance are classified as follows:

• Games of chance whose winning conditions are dependent upon random elements, with the use of gambling machines which are operated manually, mechanically, electrically, electronically, video automatically or in other similar ways. In order to play and win these games, they require the player’s ability or dexterity, light hand and also the chance, the hazard (the type of Atlantic pusher, Niagara);
• Casino games of chance
• Bingo, Keno type of games of chance, which take place in special game rooms;
• Sports Bets, Lotteries and Raffles , along with television Bingo and Keno;
• Contest-Games, with any type of wins, organized through telephone lines or any other means of telecommunication.

http://www.rolegal.com/romania-gambling-license.html

Secondly there's stocks/options/futures trading without a license (mpex.co):

Quote
All securities trading in Romania is carried out by brokerage companies called Financial Investment Services Companies (FISC) licensed by the NSC and established according to law 297/2004.

The law itself AFAIK is only available in Romanian.

Thirdly they are not following the limitations imposed on limited liability companies in Romania (polimedia/mpex.co):

Quote
Limited Liability Companies are not permitted to:

 - Undertake banking or insurance activities or any other activity that might suggest an association with same, without a licence.
 - Undertake investment business other than the investment of the company's own assets without a licence.
 - Neither solicits funds from the public nor offer their shares or membership to the public without a licence.

http://www.ocra.com/jurisdictions/romanian-limited-liability.asp

I got introduced to all these facts after BitBet.us scammed me some ~20 Bitcoins in winnings regarding a bet about BFL delivery. More information here:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitbetus-scammers-ignore-delivered-bfl-products-192122

Just a tip, and I know your situation is a bit different out on the frontier of the internet, but generally when accusations are made or there is a problem with a company it is the job of the PR person to smooth things out.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/repost-for-newbs-i-of-mems-list-encourage-boycotting-mpex-and-sdice-racism-186043

Here someone accuses the company of blatant racism and you call them a 'shill' and 'scammor' with no evidence, then argue discrimination is a figment of someone's imagination.

So now we're back to the topic of you making recommendations to me, while overlooking the fact that I'm by far the only pro PR on this forum and you have no credentials. Where do you get off, exactly?

So not only a financier-in-your-own-mind, but also a psychologist/psychiatrist-in-your-own-mind. Read this. Five times.

from my previous experiences with people, I have learnt that there is not much an outsider can do about it. It is a -EV game trying to interact with such people.

Okay, I am undecided now  Huh

Mircea posts some intelligent thoughts in the blog, and I kind of admire him/her? for doing things that others haven't been doing. But after all that porn, negative p/l statements what comes to actual, incorporated businesses, and paying people to post under fake accounts, what should I be trusting? (Also s/he has not commented on my idea, how to structure a bitcoin company, I put it there to probe his/her IQ, and so far I am dissatisfied with no answer, other than one-liners calling me "a nobody with nothing", despite powerful evidence to the contrary.)

If there is anyone who actually owns the shares in S.MPOE, how about showing up to give the thing some credit? I think it would be good for the prospects of your shares. I have considered shorting it in a serious way, which would destroy your value.

There is a realistic possibility to me, that S.MPOE is in fact not owned by many actual individuals, rather than by few with multiple forum and bitcoin accounts. So please, consider my offer and be forewarned. I am just a messenger.

I know big boys are entering the bitcoin arena now, and no matter whether these suspicions of mine prove out to be correct or not, I do not see much chance for S.MPOE to beat BTC in the years coming. (BTC should be doing great.)

Thank you all, I have reached my conclusions:

- MP is probably suffering from NPD. This is sad, but from my previous experiences with people, I have learnt that there is not much an outsider can do about it. It is a -EV game trying to interact with such people.
- There is no reason for me to believe that MPOE-PR is a woman, or even a person other than MP.
- MPEx, like most bitcoin businesses, has a high expected failure rate. The scenario analysis gives PV of far less than the current price, which does not warrant investing.
- There is no evidence of MP having legit business before Bitcoin, so tread carefully with him. Like I told before, the powers entering Bitcoin now, are more likely to interact with their peers, and with all probability, the bitcoin-otc trust network will diminish in importance once Bitcoin hits mainstream. It has not been able to detect fraud before it happens, and even after, it does not effectively punish it. (Not saying that MPEx has much trust even there to begin with.)

Disclaimer: the fact that MPEx share price is falling -5% per day in its own exchange is not my fault. I did not short it, nor probably will. I try to operate in liquid markets only, that is why I am late to the bitcoin party. None of what I say is explicit reference to MPEx scamming me or anyone.

Was about to write about the deduction process, but unless you ask for it, I will save my and your time. Most people have ignored him already. I am slow to reach conclusions, and always hope the best from the people, so I am a complete opposite of him in this regard, and I have been scammed many times because of my naivety. I believe I am better off by joining the crowd and ignore.

Done.

That offer open to everyone?
It is open to anyone who I can trust to not scam me.

I wonder how shorting a stock on a guys own exchange would work. Since it has pretty much been all pump might be worth while if the terms gave enough time. Sooner or later he or greater fools will run out of BTC.
I've already successfully enabled others to short S.MPOE. Most of them profited by it. It's anecdotal, but that's how it's worked in the past.

What pump? How? Isn't S.MPOE paying ample dividends? Hasn't MPOE public and well functioning business model? To me it's evident Mircea is NOT motivated in any way to disrupt it by faking anything.

And as for my own experience, I have participated in S.MPOE IPO (back in April 2012 when it was done by email) and already got several times more bitcoins back by occassionally selling part of the shares. Also, I was successfully scalping it during periods of increased trade activity, making up to 1BTC/day (with crude code that was originally intended only to pound out bugs from coinbr codebase Cheesy ) Also CoinBr activity increasingly proves there is genuine MPEx trading by hundreds of people. It already paid out several BTC total in referrals only, what you can independently confirm by asking in #bitcoin-assets.

Oh yeees, there's realistic possibility I got all this out of Mircea's or some other fool's pocket (why is that fool silent, then?), lol. I'm not trying to prove anything here, just presenting my POV that it served me well. Much better than spewing accusations on btctalk.

Now... I'm no professional writer or an awesome blogger or anything, but it was my understanding that it's the writers job to make the reader understand his (or her) intentions and meaning, not the other way around.

Yet another field in which your understanding is wrong. Hopefully you won't run out of things to fail at.

Mircea Popescu : Only for idiots. Nobody counts what niggers think, and nobody counts what idiots think. This is like saying “you know… in Japan all they’ll notice is how tall people are in this sketch”. Um… yaok.

Her : It’s not a matter of whether your readers are rich or poor, American or otherwise. You are not in a small percentage. You are alone.
Mircea Popescu : Still makes no difference. Those people do not matter. This also means they can be as many as they want. Adding more people to stupidity doth not buy it any respectability.

Wat?

So... I mean.. like... seriously... wat?

Shit, I think a lot of people are idiots, but he's literally admitting to being in a minority of 1 and calling everyone else who's not in that minority idiots, which encompasses literally every other person on the planet, by definition.  While I can agree a good majority of the people on this planet are, in fact, idiots, at least I'll give them the opportunity to demonstrate it before I paint them with that brush.

But wait, there's more!

Quote
Her : Do you actually not grasp that this does not come through at all? Or do you just not care?
Mircea Popescu : I just do not care.

Her : I mean seriously… how is someone supposed to know this?
Mircea Popescu : It is every reader’s job to either get the words right or seek help.

Now... I'm no professional writer or an awesome blogger or anything, but it was my understanding that it's the writers job to make the reader understand his (or her) intentions and meaning, not the other way around.  If the reader doesn't understand, under most circumstances, it's a failure of the writer not the reader.

There was a lot of shithail surrounding one of Mircea's blog posts linked on Reddit yesterday:

http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/17zq8j/because_most_people_are_idiots_in_spite_of_never/

It is quite entertaining to read really.

He mad because no one buying his sexy pictures and no one wants to send a 650$ start-up fee.

A bit more. He brags about his successful business and about his employees, but here are the numbers: http://www.firme.info/polimedia-srl-cui22530016/.

Looking at 2011, -68,000 profit lol whatever that is

Huh He gets paid to post stupid shit?

I'd hire an HTML guy before PR. Seriously, the site looks awful

It would literally take an experienced coder less than one day of CSS to stylize and format the page so it isn't a total eye sore.
Yes, literally. Again, the entry fee for 1 account is 20 BTC. For 20 BTC, the site could look great. For 40, it could look as good as GLBSE. There's a plethora of freelance HTML guys on this forum.

Think of all the people that have already sent him money. Every day I am sure multiple people send 20 BTC (420$) .... I am more than positive he has the budget to make that
 looking site look good

In addition to which, the romanian wannabe-pornstar doesn't seem to know that much about trading or investing, which seems pretty elementary for someone who runs an exchange.

To be fair, he was insulting someone's wallet more so than actually defending AAPL (which has plummeted in the last 6 months and all the people who listened to me saved 200$ per share.)

You will be quoted an exact sum, which you must send to the exchange address (1Fx3N5iFPDQxUKhhmDJqCMmi3U8Y7gSncx). Don't round anything, the decimals are there to identify you as the beneficiary. You will be credited the full amount.
This sounds like nothing could ever go wrong. Identify deposits by their decimals. Roll Eyes

Why... on earth? How easy it would be to redirect customer funds and tell them that they sent the wrong amount...

The exchange's gpg key sign the statement telling you to send X amount to the address. You end up with a proof signed by the same key everyone else uses. It would be hard to just claim the payment was not sent to the address (There's a single address to deposit for everyone). One gpg key signing it, one deposit address for everyone to check in the blockchain.

Signed statement + blockchain shown deposit... seems pretty solid proof for me.

Tell me, how exactly would they do it? Against MPEx will be both their own GPG-signed reply (that clearly mentions address and exact amount) and your transaction in the blockchain.

I feel bad about polluting evoorhees' thread about S.DICE. So I'm going to spew my Facts, Uncertainties, and Debates here.

Fact. GLBSE's weekly volume is larger than MPEX's monthly volume.
Fact. MPEX costs 20 BTC (sometimes 15) just to sign up.
Fact. GLBSE has its own domain name (yeesh, 10 bucks a year is harsh man). MPEX hangs off of http://polimedia.us/
Fact. The domain is registered fraudulently.
Fact. Porn is hosted on that same domain, polimedia.us
Fact. The owner of MPEX has attempted to sell NSFW photos of herself.
Fact. The owner of MPEX steals content from other websites, including images.

Opinion MPEX looks like shit. Seriously. "border=1"? No CSS3? We have a highschool teenager on these forums whose website looks many times better. And is porn-free.

Debate MPEX is managed by an untrustworthy romanian pornstar whose hobby is to post libel about GLBSE through the MPOE-PR forum account. The free market has ensured that its high entrance fee means very little volume. And it's an eye-sore.

I shall be staying away, thank you very much.

That's all for now, folks.

I don't like the interface. I don't like the domain. I don't like the upfront fee. I don't like the owner. The only good argument for not putting this on GLBSE is to diversify the location of stocks on the market.

I honestly don't see a difference between the dice company and the exchange as there is nothing else worth buying on there that I don't have access to elsewhere for less than 20btc.

The price of S.Dice is crazy too. He wants to have a P/S of 10 with a risk level that would make junk bonds unsellable. P/S for companies is like 2 on the high end of the spectrum. Even if his expenses are meaningless, it doesn't change the fact that Bitcoin is a risk, and just because it is fully bitcoin denominated does not mean that I cannot convert that to investment capital in WMT or AAPL which carry much less risk than S.DICE.

That's fair. Nefario has a rep there too, just not as much.

Also i cant find user "ciuciu" on the wot so I cant judge whether they are more or less trustworthy in this regard.

I rated him a while back because of his deposit service. He's fairly trustworthy, a forum donator, and has been vouched for by multiple established members including hashking. Why do you need him to be trustworthy, though, when he states verifiable facts?

Yes.

I think Mircea needs to hire better PR people and get the stock exchange off its current domain for marketing reasons basically.

I dont question ciuciu's honesty I was simply comparing the otc ratings. I couldnt find MPOE-PR user there either.
