Are you sure that turtlehurricane was a Hero member at some point?
Thyemos had mentioned that this was a bug.....

IIRC only Newbie, Hero, and Legendary members don't get demoted normally. Maybe I'll fix it at some point, but it's not really a big deal.
Yeah I'm pretty sure he was. I had a thread named "What happened to turtlehurricane" or something like that, where that was the response.

And yeah that was the post by theymos I mentioned, but I guess the way its worded, it does mean that those ranks are permanent

I guess the bug has been fixed.

This thread talks about TheGambler being a hero member with 99 posts, but he is only a member now.

IIRC once you reach Hero or Legendary, the rank is permanent and will not change if you delete stuff.
I don't think its permanent, rather its not updated in real-time(activity check every hour). The previous guy I mentioned and one more had their rank demoted after a month of dropping below the Hero member activity limit

P.S: Could search for the post from theymos/BB(don't remember who it was that posted it) later on.

Edit 1: The guy's name was turtlehurricane, he's a Full member now(from Hero)

Really? I thought deleting single posts from 14 day activity periods will make you lose activity points regardless of the account rank?
You do lose activity points, however if the rank it's self is Hero or Legendary then the rank is permenant. You can see this on the member stan.distortion.

It'd be pretty cool to stay as a Legendary Member with like below 100 posts Grin

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this. https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/mangled-blue-101343

I'm guessing the guy got most of his posts deleted (Seeing as almost all his posts are in the DASH thread) This is a pretty interesting account! Cheesy
Either that or he himself did it, and the rank has yet to be updated. In case of Hero members and Legends(and perhaps even Newbs) it takes some time for the rank to update(more so than others). I remember something similar(a guy leaving only ~100 of his posts and still remaining a Hero member for some time before theymos took note of it, he did it to delete traces of a scam I believe)

Looks like he only left atleast 1 post based on which date the activity update is (every 2 weeks). He didn't. I think the guy have no idea that deleting posts will decrease the account rank.
The rank probably has not yet been updated but sure this is an interesting account because the guy removed all previous history of it.

Btw, afaik you can't have only 0 posts and remain at a certain rank.

I thought you drop a rank when you lose activity.

Am I allowed to ask an admin to delete all my posts so I look like a boss with 0 posts? Smiley
