Thank you all for the contributions. The mystery is solved: it was no problem after all. Time to close the topic.

Take a look there One year anniversary of merit system. Read the First adjustment part for details of what you asked for.

The exact formula was:

Code:
yearActivity = activity in the last ~year, max 378
freeMerit = the merit (not sMerit) you started with
modifier =
  0.1 if member
  0.2 if full member
  0.25 if sr member
  0.35 if hero
  0.4 if legendary

return (yearActivity/378) * modifier * freeMerit

So the most you could get is if you were a Legendary who maxed out your activity points in the last year, in which case you would get 1 * 0.4 * 1000 = 400 sMerit.

Note that I later made an adjustment giving 500 extra merit to some hero members, but no extra sMerit was given here.

I'll probably publish a dump of the initial sMerit at some point.

Limited in number. Limitless in potential.
~ Weren't Hero accounts supposed to receive only 500 merits when the merit system was implemented?

Hero members have received 1000 Merit points instead of 500 if their Activity was >= 775.

I think usually what happened in those cases (if not always) is that the guy had the activity and post requirement pre-merit system, then after he got his 1,000 merits, deleted a bunch of posts which made him move back to Hero Member rank. Either that or the mods deleted a bunch of his posts. Or a combination thereof.
Meaning BPIP cant detect post deleted by own users? Since @GazetaBitcoin said only two of his post have been deleted.

Will Loyce.club be able to see whether the guy deleted his own post? If yes then we can assume that your theory about his merit is true.

My best guess is its a bug from forum or else he was given special privilege by the admins to retain its merit count( maybe well looks like he is trusted member too)

Confirmed, trusted ninjaboon with 47.5BTC and he released the funds successfully.

@Zubilica - thank you for the nice feedback.

Allowed me to show here the message directly by theymos

I decided that the previous allocation was too unfair in this area, so everyone with activity >= 775 got 500 more merit if they didn't already have 1000 merit (and also Lutpin). No extra sMerit, though.
I think thats the answer @GazetaBitcoin  Grin

Supposedly, this is a bug. User is inactive before the merit system introduced.

The account is a potential legendary rank if and only if airdropped merit is somewhat based on the activity when merit introduces then, maybe, but, apparently not.

  • Two (more unlikely): Guy may have reached Legend rank sometime before the merit system was born. Later, due to inactivity, he may be demoted. His activity point is in the middle of the ranks  Cheesy

That certainly did not happen. The only "official" demotion in history was when Jr. Members were required 1 merit and those which didn't have the merit became Newbies. Another option for getting demoted is if your posts are deleted thus your activity decreases. But according to Bpip  this user had only 2 posts deleted. He was not demoted.

Cheesy Wow, It was crazy. His operating history is empty  Cheesy I have 2 hypotheses to post here:
  • One: Somehow, when the merit system was born and the account he received 1000 merit for the Hero member rank (Although I've never seen anyone like that)
  • Two (more unlikely): Guy may have reached Legend rank sometime before the merit system was born. Later, due to inactivity, he may be demoted. His activity point is in the middle of the ranks  Cheesy
Anyway, so strange  Cheesy

I just found a forum Hero member - Zubilica - which seems to have 1000 airdropoed merits instead of 500. I searched his profile on Bpip and it shows he earned 0 merits: https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=Zubilica. I also searched on Loyce.club and it seems that Zubilica did not receive any merit from another forum user.

As a consequence, this would imply that Zubilica received as an aidrop all the 1000 merits he has. Is this possible? Weren't Hero accounts supposed to rwceive only 500 merits when the merit system was implemented?
