So many 3GB and 4GB GPUs can't mine Ethereum anymore due to this arbitrary and bullshit DAG file thing.

There is a simple solution.  Just reduce it!  Just clip off the first 2GB of the file that probably just sits there unused, filling your ram chips with unneeded data.

Let's get it done, Ethereum managers!  I see no good reason why the file needs to be so damn big.  To block ASICs, okay, but you don't need 4 damn GB to do that!!!
Grin why do you think that way, this dag size help miner profit in good way, and keeping older card to retire, the good old days has came to pass, and keeping asic away from the network

imagine if they not implement this, the miner will be disastrous flooding many rigs

it is a feature to resist ASIC dominance, not completely but it did well.

The increase in DAG file size is predictable and it was known well in advance when it would exceed 4GB. If you expected to continue mining ETH, you should have sold and upgraded your 4GB cards instead of expecting the developers to bail you out.

They aren't going to reduce the DAG to benefit miners. They only did it on the ETC network because they lacked hashpower and kept getting 51% attacked.

If they cared about miners they wouldn't of have reduced the miner reward from 5 ETH a few years back and they wouldn't implement EIP 1559. Plus not only will they make ETH holders upset but they will make anyone upset who overpaid for that expensive ETH ASICs that is capable of mining 8GB DAG when the old Antminer E3 would of been just as sufficent.

So you can forget about them reducing the DAG file.

Who told you that the reason why DAG is over 4GB is to block ASIC miners? You don't understand a thing about ethereum blockchain mate, I suggest you sit back and do some research, there are asic miners out there with more than 4GB memory size today

The simple solution you are rendering is useless, the only solution I know of is using lolminer and inserting the 4gb gpu in the PCIe x16 slot, doing this can give you up to 26mh on a RX580 4GB gpu and about ASIC miners it won't change a thing

3gb and 4gb have enjoyed their moment in the past years, this isn't a bullshit if DAG file grows and moreover newer GPUs of today are coming out in big memory size, the future is here so get used to it and get latest gpu is you want to mine
