Well, in 2012 if u invested $100 in bitcoin, it would have become $300 by now. 3 fold increase in investment within 3 years is good Wink
What?
In 2012 btc high was $15. Now it's $270. That's 18-fold increase!

I want to ask, can I bump own thread??  Roll Eyes

There are no rules forbidding that, as far as I know. But there is no spam/meaningless post policy.

So if you post just 'bump' to often, then you could get banned.

It's best to bump with constructive posts.

ooh sad, get 10 days banned.
I have got banned months ago, exactly 7 days

Welcome Smiley good luck with your mining.
I wouldn't recommend to put much effort onto it though, unless you have free electricity or something. Also the price dropped a lot, so it's not really a good time.
As far as I know bumping your thread wouldn't be considered spam.

welcome to the forum!

I don't recommend you at all to enter in the mining world

that world is not profitable anymore and it is only for big players

Sell your hardware now and buy btc. Now is not worth again for mining btc, but if you want to mining coin, try altcoin like nxt , xcp, lite or blackcoin.

too late for mining, especially with the price declining like that, diff can't follow at that speed, so roi is even harder, don't buy mining HW

Well the good thing is they are now a more solid investment vs when they were $2, the risk they could be worth nothing within 1 week was huge then vs now.

in the other the odds the value will rise 200x in few years in negligible right now.

Less risk of losing everything but almost no chance of hitting the financial jackpot Sad

Hi! And to the moon!!!  Cool Grin

That sounds like a phrase from the doge community. Grin

Admire your desire to start off with mining. I always told myself to get involved in mining to contribute some hashrate but never did until today and most of my stash ended up being bought.

Anyway, welcome abroad to the forum.

Hehe yeah not bad, but too bad I spent it on something else Sad

Hi welcome to the forum, like the rest of us i bet you wish you bought straight away, you'd be rich!

I have a friend who bought some when they where $2 lol! He used it to pay for something back then too... he still buys today though at current prices.

And yeah I wish I had learned about Bitcoin sooner... oh well, it's the future of finance, looking forward to the day that it truly encompasses the entire globe, like the internet of today Wink

Hi and welcome to the forum!

...

Anyways, so I just ordered and Antminer S5 and Cosair RM850 to get into mining this year(been only buying off coinbase and circle, but convinced now that mining is a good investment and just cool). Also me and a friend are working on a Bitcoin app, to monitor balances and eventually be a wallet.
...

I don't think it's a good investment, you'll struggle to hit ROI (especially with the current price drop), unless you have a free electricity or something.

But good luck anyway.

Thanks for the tip, I'm not selling any BTC though, I'd rather us USD to pay for my bills and BTC is my savings plan.

I first heard about Bitcoin back in 2012, when I was looking for some providgal, and found some modafinil on an Indian website (mental focus pills) Anyways they only took a bank wire transfer where I had to give them my bank account info, or use Bitcoins.

Thought bitcoin was just some kind of digital token back then. They where about $100 per Bitcoin or maybe less then, so I got some btc and ordered the medication. Later about 8-12 months I went back to buy some more and Bitcoins where now worth $200...

Learned more about Bitcoin in 2013 and decided to join the Dallas Bitcoin meetup, which blew my mind... didn't realize there was so much to Bitcoin. Next couple of months was nothing but Bitcoin research, podcasts, news, reading the white paper (I'm a dev and got super excited about the technology Smiley)
