Besides, Trump promised to shake the military up, and make it great again. So, they don't know where to turn now that they are being threatened with being made into a real soldier. So, suicide.

What are you saying here? The US military kills innocents and thus has moral people deliving?
US soldiers are professionals. They are not conscripts (yet), so they are not forced to kill people. If you object to killing a human, you can be reassigned to a role that does not involve that. Then you can quit when your tour of duty is over.
Still, it is a lot of death. Not unnecessary though, as unchecked aggression does not stop.

You see for years they have been brainwashed with lies such as "war on terror" and they've been told that they should go to the other side of the world and murder people to bring them peace and democracy. But when they are actually deployed they see through all those lies.
They don't necessarily have to be the one pulling the trigger murdering unarmed civilians. Like Aaron Bushnell, the USAF airman who committed suicide after seeing what the US military that he served in was supporting.
Just imagine what a US Army soldier who is deployed to Syria (in an illegal US base) and sees or hears about the US military base nearby on the Syrian Jordanian border where US officers are training and arming ISIS terrorists!
Or what does some young kid who joined JSOC thinking he will be a member of some "special force" to defend his country feels like when he is deployed to fight shoulder to shoulder with Israeli and ISIS terrorists inside Gaza against unarmed civilians in a globally condemned act of genocide?
Or what does an airforce pilot feels like when he learns that all or 90% of the targets he has bombed over his carrier in Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, etc. were civilian targets and in that equation he was the terrorist not the unarmed people he was bombing in the name of War on Terror?
Like the well known wedding party that they bombed murdering all the innocent participants back in 2008 (Haska Meyna wedding party airstrike).
Only psychopaths can be part of such atrocities against other human beings and not have a mental breakdown. Remember that US military also has very high number of PTSD cases. Most of it is due to that guilt.

In the US military you have no rights, no privacy, probably will end up doing a mindless menial jobs on a domestic base, the food sucks, the coffee sucks, it's run like a mindless corporation.

Recently the Pentagon released the official suicide count in US military for 2023 and it is sitting at 523. That is 3 US troops taking their own lives every 2 days.
This is reminiscence of the WW2 and Nazi Germany's Wehrmacht. When the Nazi forces were ordered to bomb cities, murder civilians on the street by shooting them, murder children, etc. at some point those soldiers could no longer bear the guilt of their atrocities and would take their own lives.
80 years later the propaganda has gotten far better and more effective at brainwashing people, the weapons have gotten deadlier but the human nature does not change. When the war criminals order a soldier to drop a bomb on a city (hospitals, residential areas, refugee camps, etc.) murdering unarmed civilians, go in Gaza take unarmed civilians including children and tie their hands behind their backs before shooting them in the head, rape hostages in their torture dungeons, etc. the Western dictatorships may be able to cover it up or hide it completely in their heavily censored mainstream media through Washington Post, New York times, BBC, Fox News, etc. but that soldier who is carrying out those atrocities knows exactly what they did.
