NastyFans is a great service that I have been using for years. It's better than new monitoring services.

Seems that api is stuck for now..
You can try these but they do not go as far back (until 2013-04-28)
and will stop working at any time:
Code:
$ curl https://www.coingecko.com/price_charts/export/bitcoin/usd.csv

Code:
$ curl "https://web-api.coinmarketcap.com/v1.1/cryptocurrency/quotes/historical?convert=USD&format=chart_crypto_details&id=1&interval=1d&time_end=$( date -ud00:00:00 +%s )&time_start=2013-04-28" | jq

It appears to be working as intended. Keeping stable pricing on the shop and disregarding temporary moves on individual exchanges is a bit of a goal.
I can't argue if keeping price as stable as possible for your shop is the goal. Maybe you can encourage other online shops or local stores in your area to use your site as reference? If you've done so, please ignore my question.

The last seven days are unusual considering the bitcoin price in those period were as volatile as it gets. Maybe it's time to check the sources again?

It appears to be working as intended.

Edit: One of the sources was stuck and I did put in a ticket with the exchange to have their daily price metric fixed. Thought I’d provide an update now that they appear to have resolved the issue.

That is a very nice API..
Nastyfans.org is a pool?

Thanks.
NastyFans is more like a co-op where BTC earned is paid out to the members. You can read more about it through the link below.

Probably too much to ask but do you have a source or sources for those rates? Assuming these were mainly Mt Gox at first?

One thing I like to think is that market data wasn't as reliable in 2010-2012 when there weren't that many markets (more or less white noise). I'm also curious to know what was the prices posted by New Liberty Standard and Bitcoin Market (the 2 exchanges credited as the first before Mt Gox) but both pre-date the first price on this list.

I'm not sure if our source information is public or not but I can tell you sources have changed over time for various reasons.  The exact sources and dates of changes might be more fun for an internet sleuth to tackle and mtgox was certainly one of the earliest and most influential exchanges in the early days.

If they are shown as charts, it will be much easier than data flow.
How did you collect this data? Is it the average value or is it a quote from a single platform? Most sites have classified prices since 2013 or 2012.
How was the price determined before that? And how many platforms have been operating since 2010?...

It is used to chart the NastyFans seat price in USD. It is provided so that others may use it for charting the BTC price or to build other tools if they so desire. The prices come from multiple sources chosen to create the most accurate historical pricing and has evolved over time as the Bitcoin market matured. This same exchange rate method is how pricing at https://NastyFans.org/mint is determined.

I think arranging the date and values in a table would make for an easier read, it's probably not possible on the site, but as SFR10 pointed out, a space or two between the date and values would be more visible.

dates all the way back to July of 2009!
I believe you meant 2010 instead of "09" since I couldn't see any data from 2009.

Perhaps you might want to consider separating the date and rates with something other than a comma [e.g. Rates in brackets].

Bookmarked.
