I invest in Elton John's fund. And it's not because I like it as a singer. As for me, this is the only organization that deals with human rights issues with HIV infection in different countries. You know that in some countries, there is a criminal penalty for infecting another person. The same is not valid, especially if a person may not know about his or her illness.

Do not say that all precautions can help avoid infection. For example, my wife was not a drug addict or had a promiscuous sex life. She just had an accident and was given a blood transfusion. No one is immune from medical error.

Times must be bad when the HIV trickery gets pushed again. Quick get your un-scientific test to find out if positive and in need of "treatment".

I personally also believe that children require more protection because this is our future. It is not their fault that parents do not monitor their sex life, while gays should be more restrained, and then the number of infections will be much less.

If you read information about the prominent international organizations, most of them take care of the issues of children and mothers. But at the same time, they forget that among African gays, the percentage of infected is as much as 50%. It is a considerable figure. For example, the Black AIDS Institute deals with the protection of gay and bisexual men because they are the primary carriers of the virus.

By the way, I was interested in this topic. I know that Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS is doing a lot to help people with HIV. I even have a friend with this diagnosis who confirms that he was helped.
Yes, I also heard about this organization, but in my opinion, it operates mainly in the United States, where the level of medicine is incredibly high. I believe that children from developing countries need more help. After all, in America, the number of HIV infected is practically not growing, and those often infected simply do not monitor their sex life. But children in the same South African Republic are immediately born with this diagnosis. I will personally vote for Keep a Child Alive. I think it will do more good.

i have no issues with charities that aim to do disease research, but i always find it best to do my own research on how much % of a donation actually gets to the research labs and the clinical trial frontline

some charities/foundations can be as low as 5% that gets to be used in the actual area of research/trial they advertise, whereas 95% ends up wasted on the salaries of non-lab executives and their pampered lifestyle.

so if and when you are willing to donate. research which charities is actually supporting their cause the most and not supporting their executives cruises the most

My wife is HIV positive, and thanks to medical therapy, she lives a normal life and gives birth to a healthy daughter. I believe that FAPP is doing a great job because there is a chance to stop the epidemic.

Hello, I think donating some of the money you earn to charity is an excellent idea. I myself transfer small amounts from time to time. Money must be beneficial to others.

I was also interested in FAPP precisely because the project creators care not only about their own well-being but are also ready to help others through charity. It seems to me that it is worth a lot.

When I launched my project, one of my primary goals was to support some charity organizations. Especially some "tabooed" themes-related. So here is time to dive deeper into the current state of HIV and AIDS Major Charitable Organizations.

Why is donation significant?

HIV has become one of the most dangerous diseases of the late twentieth century, and the problem cannot be solved today. For the first time, scientists started talking about the disease in 1983; after a few years, HIV was diagnosed in millions of people worldwide. Among the celebrities who died due to Human Immunodeficiency Virus are the great musician Freddie Mercury (lead singer of the Queen group), ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, a heavyweight boxer who starred in the movie "Rocky 5" Tommy Morrison, and many others.

VIS and AIDS have claimed the lives of millions of people worldwide, especially in developing countries, where life expectancy is only 35 years.

For a long time, it was not accepted in society to talk about such a disease, which led to new and new infections. In addition, finding an effective drug that can destroy the virus does not exist today. Three cases of complete cure of people were recorded, but scientists still have not figured out how this became possible. Nevertheless, therapy has been developed today to allow people with HIV to live normal lives and, most importantly, not spread the infection. They are able to have a sex life without fear of infecting a partner, having children, and they will be born entirely healthy, work in an office and not be afraid of condemnation from the collective.

So, if all sick people take medicine, then the epidemic can be stopped. Unfortunately, the cost of such treatment is quite expensive, and you need to take medication regularly. In developed countries, government programs allocate funds for such needs, but people do not have the opportunity to get medicines in developing countries. In this case, charitable organizations come to the rescue. Investing in such projects will save the lives of many people and stop the spread of the disease.

FAPP team is not indifferent to the problems of people with HIV diseases and wants their help. To make sure the money goes back on track, it is good to partner with international charities.

Top 5 best charities

Today, quite a few international organizations deal with HIV and AIDS issues, so it is pretty difficult to identify which one to invest in. 5 most authoritative ones definitely deserve attention:

  • AIDS United;
  • AmfAR;
  • Elton John AIDS Foundation
  • Keep a Child Alive;
  • Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Each of them has quite a lot of experience and has achieved a lot. Millions of users around the world trust them.

AIDS United

AIDS United emerged in 2010 through the Washington, D.C.-based National AIDS Fund and the AIDS Action advocacy group. Both organizations were founded in the 1980s when there was a massive crisis in the United States. The merger of such giants has made it possible to achieve great results. Today they help more than 300 smaller charities to help people living with HIV comprehensively. Thus, they invest in the development of drugs and protect human rights and defend the interests of HIV-infected people at different levels in the United States and other countries.

AmfAR

AmfAR is a research organization that develops drugs for the fight against HIV and AIDS. It was founded in 1985 and, over the years of work, has organized around itself the largest centers for the study of this disease. All efforts of the center are aimed at studying the virus and developing an effective drug.

Elton John AIDS Foundation

Elton John is a great musician, and he was struck by the death of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, so he created his charitable foundation to fight AIDS and protect HIV-infected people. Now the organization works in 55 countries and shows excellent results. It is important to note that this fund deals with rare issues, such as helping to regulate HIV legislation.

Keep a child alive

The Keep a Child Alive Charitable Foundation diagnoses and treats HIV-positive children and their families in countries such as Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda, and India. These are the oddities where the disease rate among children remains consistently high. Charitable programs should not only provide the necessary medicines but also be educational.

Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation

The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation is one of the most famous and influential organizations. It focuses on the protection and prevention of disease among at-risk women and children in various developing countries. The foundation was founded in 1988 and, during its existence, has helped millions of HIV-infected women give birth to perfectly healthy children. The foundation pays excellent attention to enlightenment work.

Conclusion & Questions

Well, the issue of supporting HIV/AIDS charitable organizations is much more complicated than I've had thought earlier. There is a lot to work through before I feel confident in the area. But, I believe this first knowledge of these several organizations and the start of communication and donation to them is the good first step.

What do you think of HIV/AIDS issue? Do you think society currently supports the people with problems enough? What do you think we have to do to increase the level of support? Do you think this is an essential case at all?

I'd love to understand all the opinions, to get out of the box of my inner thoughts and illusions.
