Hi Everyone!  Sorry it took so long to update this, I was vacationing in Philadelphia so I was able to post but I didn't want to set this up unattended for an extended period of time.  I finally did set this up, and when I did it as suggested by the video I got incredibly high temperatures right after starting up.  I was running at around 121 C for a couple of seconds before I pulled the plug.  Reaching that level of temperature, I decided it better to connect the air flow ducts directly to the miner rather than the box.  What I got after that was a surprising yet sustainable 76-82 C.  I am used to running this normally in an open air setting from 68-75 C. 

I'm not entirely convinced of the product (there were tons of defects which I will post shortly), but I do like the concept.  Although I haven't tried it, I would like to see how the miner would react in a setting where each one is individually enclosed with cold air intake being drawn from an indoor AC unit (at 21-24 C) and the hot air exhaust being blown outdoors (at 68-75 C).  I believe this way is more controlled for airborne dust and operating temperatures.  It also makes sense because then you are not cooling an entire room with an AC unit and simultaneously heating it up with the miners' exhaust.

Although I haven't empirically measured db, I can tell you that the sound is also dramatically more quiet. I just can't decide if its a better idea to have ventilation set up and try to match an exhaust fan to pull the hot air out as fast as the miners blow it out, which would in turn make the sound factor irrelevant but would require a much larger investment and structural changes to the building.

As someone who actually soundproof a small room for antminers, let me juz tell u that those foam things wont work period. U probably need 10-13cm of rockwool/soundproof material for the wall but it is not worth it on a per box basis, so, u gotta do a small room for it. U can get professional help.on it but soundproofing isnt cheap. The material density should be 100-200kg per m3.

Also do note the machine sounds are low to medium frequency sounds which are slightly harder to block.
Remember, sound moves like water, any small hole and they will go through it.
And for air intake and outtake, u gotta use ducts with soundproof material in it.

It is best u do your own checkin and consult an engineer to calculate.

I agree with the fire blankets  under 30 bucks to a 275 purchase worth it for sure.

He may be able to cut the 4 inch hole with the hole saw as an exhaust  and not use a second input hole.

If I were him I would buy the 2 fire blankets run the miner  and check temps over and over and over.

Once they get hot  and I think they will do that. I would cut the 4 inch hole high for exhaust  and use this dc fan

I am so sorry you paid that much money.

My mining design on youtube costs far less  and can do 2 units.

my design is very very very fire resistant.  yours is not fire resistant at all.

the key is allow airflow and realize that  you can drop noise somewhat

I got this in the mail yesterday but I'm sick and haven't even had a chance to open it.  I'll keep you guys posted and I'll definitely be sure to record the temperatures before and after as we test this concept out.  I think solving the sound issue while maintaining proper temperatures and air flow is a fun challenge.  I build GPU miners and am constantly tweaking the design, location, power draw, and memory clocks.  Half of the fun is finding the perfect mix of elements!

Shazam!!!, I think it would be beneficial to have the air drawing in filtered and from a cooled environment.  Just as important is to have the exhaust tip placed in a location where it wouldn't recirculate back in the room.  That way cooling costs are controlled by not heating up the air you just paid to cool and you can control the amount of dust being pushed around by the fans.

If the miner fries then it fries, tetradrachm.  All in the name of science, right?

In my honest opinion, I think it would be great if more people could have miners in their homes, apartments, etc.  I can't imagine everyone is okay with leaving mining to the big investors with thousands of machines and industrial warehouses or data centers.  Isn't that type of consolidation what decentralization was meant to overcome?

There is no problem with temperature at all... Don't have digital thermometer, only got old one with the mercury. These are current temperature and stats from miner UI page: http://prntscr.com/hwloq8

I've seen a few somewhat like this too. The one thing I've wondered about is, the TEMP inside of the box.
I understand that the idea is to flow air through the length of the vent hose, but miners do emit a radiant
heat. With the vent connected and sealed to the miner, how do you evacuate the radiant heat??? And, I
personally am using Rockwall to deaden noise rather than plywood. If you could take some inside temps
that would be great. Thanx!!!

That's what I would be worried about. This thing is a joke IMO, looks like a great way to fry your miner.

That green insulation looks like the stuff they use in floral arrangements.

Seems expensive for the materials.  But I hope it does the trick for you since you already ordered it.

THis box has inspired me to make my own design, maybe its waste of material, but i made something similar to this. Its basically same as this box, except, i have box within box, that is separated with 2 layers of sound isulation. Its maybe waste of material but its a little bit more quieter.

As someone that used to build custom subwoofer boxes this seems pretty expensive for an MDF box with some dryer vent attachments on the end.

Remember the Antminer is an industrial machine, it was not meant to be quiet or ran in someones apartment. Adding another $3-400 for a silencer box just seems like a bad idea.

Wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this product before?  I have just ordered one and ran into an issue already with the seller and the shipping amount charged versus the shipping speed.  I paid for express shipping from Canada but it was sent standard speed.  Luckily, I was refunded it without starting a dispute process through PayPal.  Anyway, just wanted to see what you guys thought about this concept and equipment.  The materials don't seem to be out of this world, but I can give some more insights once I actually receive the shipment.  I worry about adequate airflow and temperature control more than anything.
