IRC has banned the use of 'bitcoin' clients. I have seed nodes ready for version 1.4, but it is not yet been released. For now you can try adding these nodes to your .conf or use the addnode feature in the rpc console.

so you didnt make/add/modify a config file and it started syncing?

I just downloaded the wallet and it took an hour just to start trying. Now it's 0.25% It's just incredibly slow I think. A lot of blockchain history to download I guess.

the hobonickels wallet will not sync but the conf file they listed as a sample has no addnodes... do you guys use a conf file with addnodes?
