It can be done but don't expect insane amounts of profit from it. It will indeed take time even for just ROI to be reached at $.10/kWh (above this it isn't worth mining BTC), but it will still reward you with profit. The one big thing people don't talk about with home mining is noise, the S9 is essentially a vacuum cleaner on steroids and you will need to find a spot to keep it that won't drive you crazy.

I think if btc mining from home is not profitable if it is not supported with high specification hardwere, and the result will not be maximum

In a case, mining Bitcoin can be still a fun and even money-making if you’ve low-priced electricity, a competent mining machine, and the best mining hardware. Antminer S9 is among the best.

First find out the electricity cost per unit which you will have to pay for the plan you have at home. It will be difficult to mine due to high electricity consumption, mining setup and its noise. You would unnecessary may invite trouble from your neighbors too and it will require to coll down as well so continuous a/c needs to be on.

Still possible to mine at home, given that you can get a profitable ASIC box. And most likely a way to mitigate noise, such as a ventilated garage or shed.

sigh, how many times must this be asked in different threads...
Try reading the first thread in this section, 'Mining 101' https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19317998 then decide for yourself.
If you can feed them the power needed and can deal with the heat/noise then go for it.

Is it still possible to mine at home and if so what's the new hardware?

Seems to me the mining game is getting centralized, doesn't that defeat the purpose of bitcoin?

Seems to me only massive expensive machines in datacenters can mine today and that requires huge capital
