My suggestion. It'd probably be better if you'd explain to your kids how money works first. Personally if I would have a kid, depending on my kid's age, I probably wouldn't like shove the information down his/her throat like learning those stuff early on is absolutely necessary. I'd probably just mention how money works(and answer their questions about it) on like a dinner table or something; just casually.

*snip*
Damn looking good for you and your daughter. When I was that age, I pretty much didn't care about anything besides Pokemon.

If you don't find anything interesting for the family, you can try creating games yourself. I have previously created a crossword game with some information that you can try here:

 - {For Fun} Bitcointalk Crossword Puzzle
 - Bitcointalk Crossword Puzzle - Round 2

Enjoy!

Wow - perfect that’s EXACTLY what I want - THANKS

You mentioned that they are already teens so I guess there is no need for fun activity to convey them, you can teach real things like trading which gives them good impression about cryptos when they get to know how to make profits. You can try demo trading sites which give a certain limit to try trading then give them a small amount of cryptos and let them make profits or loss which is a great lesson than anything.

You can find some videos related to Bitcoin to give them the general concept, but I do not know if the content will be suitable for children.
Generally, you can try some quizs that will make times fun:

You can also try this game for your kids, this game teach mining and trading simulator and have great graphic. Maybe your kids will be addicted for this game Grin https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.horagames.cryptominer&hl=en

But, if they don't interested yet about bitcoin... you can try teach them about other things like basic drawing, editing, or maybe singing. It's not good to force a kids to do something what he doesn't want Grin

Cheers @Yogee - I’ll put that on my amazon list - always looking for new board games  Smiley

Thanks as well @Cnut237 - I’ll download this first and check it out . I’m trying to minimise their screen time, but this does look informative.
It’s DEFINITELY  a fine line , as you say , hard to not put them off . It’s very different teaching a class in school to teaching your OWN kids in a small environment.

If they're teenagers, it might be worth having a look at the Bitcoin Billionaire game. I think the suggested age is 12+, so probably suitable, but have a look to make sure. Sounds like you need to tread a fine line between education and fun in order to pique their interest!

What kind of things are your kids interested in? If you can try to integrate Bitcoin to things they like, you can expose them little by little.

If they are interested in games, maybe you can play the Cashflow board game with them.

Thanks for your reply @mocacinno and sounds like you’re having fun at home , it’s great your daughter is interested in programming  Smiley
My 2 kids are teenagers and to be fair we’ve all enjoyed the homeschooling so far, but they’re not interested in programming or bitcoin unfortunately- probably a negative reaction to me going on about it all the time  Smiley
So with bitcoin , I want them to have a bit of fun , so they can learn by accident - rather than me lecturing them - lol .
Anyway , enjoy the homeschooling- I’m sure there’s quite a few of us out there !

Hi , I was wondering if any of you good folks out there could help out or point me in the right direction. With the lockdown etc I’ve been homeschooling the kids and I thought it’d be a good idea to teach them about money initially and then move on to bitcoin.
There’s obviously a lot of material etc out there and plenty of information, but I can’t seem to find any ‘fun’ activities for the kids to do. So I’ve been looking for some worksheets, crosswords , word searches etc, but the only ones I can find are on sites such as , Pinterest and teaching sites, where I have to sign up to . I don’t really want to sign up to anything and I don’t want to pay ideally .
So if anyone has any fun bitcoin related activities for kids or knows of any resources available ,it would be really appreciated.
Thanks all and stay safe

How old are your kids? My daughter is 11, and as a lockdown activity, i'm teaching her the basics of programming.

She's pretty quick on picking up the basics of python, she's currently working on exercise 5 of https://www.practicepython.org/.

When she starts with excercises about reading/writing flat text files, i'd like to teach her the basics of relational databases (if she's still interested).

After this, a very small basic walktrough on the absolute beginnings of cryptography might be next (basic stuff like hashing, symmetric encryption, asymmetric encryption). She's only 11, so it will only be an explanation of the concepts, nothing in-depth.

At this point, i hope she's prepared to hear the fundamentals of blockchain technology... But i figured before she at least had a taste of scripting, cryptography and relational databases, there was no point in filling her head with blockchain tech (let alone crypto currencies).
