Good question, I also can not figure out how to trade in a bear market, as well as how to trade with the shoulder.
It is kinda hard to short when the bear market is kicking in, it is best that you short when it is just starting but shorting at the middle of a bear market? It is kinda risky. There is a huge chance that it will fail or lucky if you just get even. But well you should look at the buy and sell order, if the buy order is too thin, I think it is best to short since the price will get lower since it cannot sustain the sell pressure.
Not sure it's very good idea shorting in this bears season except you're a professional trader.

I think you need to be so proficiennal to trade in the bearish market and while you don't know where to do, so I guess you had better to stay away unless you know what you are doing.
