I use Blacktel you can get a UK number and a US number without ID verification.

There is another provider called Silent Link that offers anonymous international eSIM which you can just download to your phone after you buy it.

Fire.  Cool

Will look into this, that sounds very close to what I am looking for.

Thanks, Tether. You come in clutch yet again lol! What a guy.

And thank you everyone else who responded, your words mean the world.

Now I just need to find a phone that can act like a ledger at the same time lol  Grin.

Gunna lock, am satisfied.

I need a way to acquire an international number so I can use 2FA across various Bitcoin/Crypto platforms. For example, I cannot use YouHodler because I live in U.S.

Just google for buy european did number with crypto and you will find a bunch of companies providing phone numbers. You also probably want to get a number with SMS, because not all companies provide authentication codes via voice calls, some insist on sending you an SMS.

I cannot recommend a specific company, because I don't use a European VOIP number, but you can probably try a few until you find a suitable one. Also keep in mind that some websites recognize VOIP numbers and refuse to create accounts with such numbers.

Anything out there that a law-abiding citizen can use to acquire an international phone number in an easy way? Best if it's related to bitcoin, or bitcoin themed of course.

Is there a specific country you would like access to? Because as far as I know there are different regulations in different regions even if you are in the same continent. I personally am not aware of any phones that could lead you to having phone international numbers directly. It would have to be a software that you download on your phone.

There is also no bitcoin themed phone unless you turn it into one. Buy a whole different phone and download the needed apps for what you want to do.

SMS based 2 factor authorization is not considered secure, especially for financial use cases. If you just need a phone number for registering then stealths.net will let you rent a Ukranian virtual phone number for 1 year. Keep in mind that any website or app that offers virtual phone numbers can probably read the messages you are receiving so I would suggest activating a different 2FA method that isn’t SMS.

Hmm, I think I'm using the word decentralized in the wrong place. Thanks for pointing that out for me.

And no, I wasn't meaning a shop that sells phones for BTC.

I mean how can I acquire an international phone number so I can sign up for crypto services outside the US?

Think about it like using a VPN so I can access websites I normally wouldn't be able to.

Unless you actually live or visit that country, there is really no other way to have that country’s phone service. It is not the phone exactly that provides you with services for texting and calling so a “international phone” is not gonna help you achieve what you want to.

VPN is the closest thing I can think of that best suits your needs.

The person who showed me crypto was using this like messaging service that replaced his TEXT message app on their phone, that's what it is.

To be able to use an international number so they could sign up for services such as YouHodler for example, which U.S. based customers cannot use.

EDIT: I have updated the title of the thread from "Are there any decentralized cell-phone services for us bitcoiners?" to "What's the best service a bitcoiner can use to get an international number?"

Have you updated the title? Cause it looks to still be the old title. I think you updated it in your reply instead of the topic itself. Anyway, if this is what you mean, then that means you should be talking about decentralized cellphone. When you said it, what came to mind was like a cellphone that can’t be tracked maybe because you aren’t connected by the usual service provider.

For what you speak of, there are many platforms that lets you create phone numbers of different countries. I don’t know any because I haven’t used it before but then, they definitely exist.

What do you mean exactly a decentralized cellphone provider?
You mean is that a shop that sells cellphone units that accept BTCs?

If I'm right I never heard any why not just buy from a known shop that accepts BTC like Newegg you can buy a cellphone from them and pay for it with BTC.

If this needs to be moved, please tell me and I'll move it right away. Will lock thread when I'm satisfied and found something worth putting in my link list.

Thank you.
