Would a hardware wallet like the model t be a good non custodial wallet?
Perfect! Trezor Model T is a good choice. hardware wallets considered more secure.

Any experience using the p2p exchange bisq? It seems to be pretty complicated. Are there any other p2p exchanges that are good and trusted?
You can try other p2p exchanges quoted below if you are having difficulty with bisq.

Is there a swap thing with XMR? I tried it on my ledger, but it doesn't show XMR as a possible crypto asset to be swapped with. But if there is, that could be a way to buy XMR or something. P2P could be the best way to secure yourself. Not with another exchange but actual P2P. Be careful with scammers, though.

Use dex, I believe that privacy coins not just monero belongs to DeX, its more of a home for privacy coins than CeX, there is no way to use Fiat to buy monero directly, you will have to buy BTC or other coin first and swap for monero on DEX, good luck

What about cashing out of monero? If you cash out to fiat money I guess they know you have it as monero. But what does exchanging to bitcoin help in that respect, if you cash out to bitcoin and then to fiat, they know you have monero too, unless you completely cash out and then it does not matter. Fiat currencies are going to be a thing of the past it looks like anyway, so I guess a p2p exchange is the way to go in future. Any thoughts on this?

You will need a virtual credit card for this so first you have to buy a virtual credit card from your real credit card then buy monero from any popular exchange. don't know it will work or not

Another way is, buy btc from a p2p exchange so that you can later buy Monero coins. p2p exchange will not reveal on your bank statement that you have bought Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, rather it only shows you have sent money to someone.

What is the safest and at the same time most practical way to store it. Thanks!

always choose a non-custodial wallet. Not your keys not your coins

Also I heard it is not completely anonamous, but I think that is just shows that you bought something, maybe even monero with bitcoin, but that is as far as it goes, I am not sure.

I looked at the dex monero.cx and they charge a 4% fee, this seems high, is it compared to other dex's? Are there ones that charges a lower fee? What is the most trusted dex that does not require kyc. Thanks.

How can I buy monero securely and privately so I don't lose ANY of the anonymity that is the main benefit of this cryptocurrency? What is the safest and at the same time most practical way to store it. Thanks!
Links are already given above but you can still have some options on buying XMR on those platforms https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monero/markets/

Storing Monero would really be on these choices.Just pick up on what suits you.

DEXs wont have Monero, use a CEX that have a higher limit for KYC requirement and use your money to buy Monero there.

I can understand why NeuroticFish said about using bitcoin to spend and buy Monero. Still if your objective is to hold crypto, bitcoin is actually better than any other coin in the market, but that is a topic for another discussion.

You could also use a forum trade to exchange Bitcoin to Monero. You should be able to keep yourself anonymous in the process because it is a crypto<>crypto trade. But please use an escrow to mediate the trade and never send first to the other party, send to the escrow.

Let me get it straight, no privacy coin can give you 100% privacy. So if you are looking forward to laundering money and evading taxes, good luck to you trying to keep your rear safe.

Temporary forum vacation
I think there is also option to get Monero from p2p sites like Bisq. Yes it is a trader you are buying from there,,, but I believe this is much more anon than buying from an exchange but I could be wrong. Traders are more incentivized,,, like yourself, to want to discard any and all data related to each other. Mutual destruction for privacy data:)

฿itcoin for all, All for ฿itcoin.
Monero.cx seems to be your best option right now. I thought Localmonero.co was a good option to until I was disappointed when I checked out their terms of service. They request for verification sometimes  Sad

You could also buy BTC from Binance using unverified account like @NeuroticFish suggested and then send the BTC to bisq and sell it for monero (https://bisq.network/markets/?currency=xmr_btc)

Bisq is a decentralized p2p, but you will have to download (https://bisq.network/getting-started/) it's app in order to use the exchange.

Hire Bitcointalk Camp. Manager @ r7promotions.com
You can try P2P platforms where you do not need KYC. I don't have much interests on altcoin so never looked much for alts. However, recently I am working with monero.cx, and they are specialize in BTC to XMR and XMR to BTC. The announcement : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/monerocx-monero-and-bitcoin-swaps-fast-no-logs-cheap-5326660

The site is new, so please do your own due diligence instead of taking my words.

Edit: @NeuroticFish - you won the race, but I already made the post before seeing yours :-D

Step 1: Buy Bitcoin (or a top altcoin) from any exchange (preferably decentralized, or from the forum [beware, use escrow!] no KYC exchange or localbitcoins).

Step 2:
v1. Make an account on Binance (where no KYC is required), exchange those Bitcoin to Monero and withdraw.
v2. Use something like https://monero.cx/ and exchange your Bitcoin to Monero (Disclaimer: it's a fairy new website and I don't know how honest they are yet, so don't go with big money here)
