There are many things you can do to contribute to Bitcoin, the simplest thing is you can start investing in it and hold it in your wallet. Or you can spread the right education about Bitcoin to others and teach them how to invest their money in Bitcoin, or pay for your credit or internet package with Bitcoin. Simple things like that have really helped Bitcoin to grow in the future.
Yeah, we are looking at it too complicated, we need to focus on how you could make a lot of profit by just holding and that is a very simple method without a doubt. If you want to add something even further, you could definitely consider by telling everyone you know how amazing bitcoin is, if you do that then you would be getting a greater return for others as well.

Do not talk badly about bitcoin, even during bear period always talk about how it will be improving and you are going to make a lot of money in the future by investing during the bear market and you could wait until the bull market and you would be making a lot of profit. Without that, you could just personally invest and that would be great but that doesn't mean that you are going to lose money neither, that's good enough, the talking about it part is just the extra.

Buying Bitcoin and storing it in your wallet barely helps it grow in the long run. Holding Bitcoin is only good for personal gains because if the price goes up, you get profits on your holdings, but it doesn't help it grow. The growth of a system depends mainly on its usage. The more it is used, the more it will grow over time in terms of becoming more widespread and used by more and more people.

If someone loves Bitcoin as a technology and wants it to stay around for a longer period, they should focus more on its usage and should try to make small businesses and business owners accept Bitcoin as a payment method so that others can know about it and use it as well. This will promote Bitcoin as a mode of payment for which it was created in the first place.

If you have any business you're running or managing, you can add Bitcoin as your second payment option. If you see someone that is interested in Bitcoin, you can also educate them more about the technology. Some person just know the word "Bitcoin" and nothing else.
anyone who have a business and they attach Bitcoin for the business I will say that the person is a wise person because I've done it before we are attached business as one of my payment option in my business and majority of young people prefer purchasing or making a payment with Bitcoin instead of using a Fiat currency so that is why I will advise or support the motion of anyone who is in business to use a Bitcoin as one of the payment option and they also a second option of a investment because business of this time is supposed to be diversify so that when the first one crash the second one will stand

I'd like to know how I could contribute more ? (I don't have dev skills so no coding for me)
If you invest in Bitcoin or you use Bitcoin for a payment tool, it means  you have contributed in Bitcoin. You don't need to have specific skills to contribute in Bitcoin, you can contribute with something that you have the ability.

What are you doing yourself to help bitcoin grow ?
I'm investing in Bitcoin and I'm trying to spread the awareness of Bitcoin in my area. There are some people who constantly ask about crypto and Bitcoin investment to me, I always share my knowledge about Bitcoin and crypto to them. I'm also trying to give them a proper understanding of crypto and Bitcoin. The are many people who misunderstand about crypto and Bitcoin, they must be given an explanation regarding the truth. So far, this is some efforts that I can do for Bitcoin.

Thank you.

I do not have developers skills myself and that means there is nothing that I can contribute in the technical aspects of Bitcoin but what I do is to help spread the news about Bitcoin to people. I use any opportunity that I get to spread the word and I think that is what most of us can do to help contributing to the growth of Bitcoin. The more people that know about Bitcoin, the more people that will invest and starts to adopt Bitcoin. From there we can get more shops accepting Bitcoin payment and this will help in our request for the currency to be approved by the government so more people can adopt it's usages. You can contribute to the price appreciating by buying more Bitcoin and taking some supply out of circulation to help increase the price.

Bitcoin is self sustainable on its own, when we adopt bitcoin and invest in it, then we are contributing to the community as part of the holders and this is the most interesting aspect of it, because it makes the value increases as many are holding and more are investing as well in the same coin, this is how we also recognizes the effect of increasing in value of bitcoin as we have many holders, buyers and sellers as well.

Another thing is to avoid anything that could serves as an attack or threat tot the bitcoin network protocols, things from there must not change as well as the people who are the developers or the community must always give the right proceedings for everything they see or do.

(i laugh when someone asks how to support bitcoin and replies try to promote another network(facepalm))
running a lightning node is not about bitcoin. dont let people fool you. its a different network and a risky network, where many people lose their funds. (even lightning devs have lost their own funds using it, and they are suppose to be the experts)

also if you dont have much funds then when you lock up your value and then allow others to route through you, because your balance is low your route wont be a optimum roue for many users and you may end up spending more of your value to re-balance yourself after people use you as a route.
the small fee's do you get for offering your balance may not offer you profit compared to the cost to re-route your funds in another longer(expensive) path to rebalance your channel(s), or the cost to open and close the channel.. so do research and dont be lulled into some fake promotions where people pretend lightning is the better profitable network

the lightning network does not help contribute to bitcoin. it infact is the agenda of causing people to use bitcoin less because they are being forced away from using bitcoin and instead told to use the lightning network. so dont be fooled by all the shenanigans of the subnetwork support group trying to promote another network as "bitcoin"

Yes thank you for this piece of advice, I already tried and I was a bit lost with those channel things and saw many people say they lost funds experimenting with it and I'm not experienced enough to play with this and the very small amount of BTC I have. Also I understand that if you don't have much, people won't use your "routes" and you will not make money out of it.

I think as said before your post, that promoting bitcoin and using it are the best things I can do now Smiley

Hello everybody !

First I would like to thank everyone here on this forum. I always have found people helping and being respectful so that's great !

I've been interested in Bitcoin since 2019 and each year I learn new things and dig deeper in the rabbit hole.

I run a full node since 2 years 24h/24h
I run an avalon nano 3 miner since a few days for fun and you know... the very thin possibility to mine a bloc one day !

I'd like to know how I could contribute more ? (I don't have dev skills so no coding for me)

What are you doing yourself to help bitcoin grow ?

Thank you.

Bitcoin on the technical side is decentralized, so this simply means that those who have the technical means and knowledge can contribute to the speed, stability and growth of the network, this is always open for any one interested, and as I can see, you have the technical means to a level, and you've taken a part, and maybe still taking a part in the development of the bitcoin network to the degree that you can, this is commendable.

But for those who do not have the technical knowledge of means, or both, the only way to contribute is to buy and hold bitcoin, and you too, nothing stops your from buying and holding some bitcoins if you haven't, for the more the hands that holds bitcoin, the more it's adoption spread.

I totally agree with you. I was thinking to help small shops in my town to accept bitcoin and help them install a solution but I found that they were not interested sadly (I asked like 20 or 30 people in the center of my town but they took me for an alien or something ^^)
So yeah I know I want to do things with Bitcoin because I am hooked but I don't really know what to do. Running a node was easy and I love working with hardware so that was my first choice while thinking I was usefull for the network.
The idea to look into Bitcoin education whether it’s hosting meetups, creating content, or even just educating your friends and family. Sometimes the best way to contribute is by spreading knowledge and helping others understand Bitcoin’s potential.

As for your Lightning node, I think you'll find it’s a rewarding project once you get through the initial setup. There’s a lot of support out there in the community, and people are always willing to help each other out, so don’t be discouraged!

Keep up the great work, and don’t hesitate to try new ideas, you’re already contributing by being an active and curious member of the community.

I’m not sure if you’ll like the idea, but here in the forum, one of the best ways to grow your Bitcoin is by lending to trusted users.

You might want to check out the Lending Board..
Lending is risky and it's hard to trust users with their accounts as collateral for loans. Many trusted users, if trusted means green trust, with loans and they turned to be scammers.

Bitcoin is scarce and if OP already has bitcoins, keep it safely. Contribute to Bitcoin adoption does not mean you need to take risk with your bitcoin and can lose it by taking risk.

Running a Bitcoin full node, Lightning Network node, pay your purchases with bitcoins, donations in bitcoins, and more things, but I am more favorite with things I am ready to pay my bitcoin, not with taking risk and knowing that I can lose it to scammers.

What are you doing yourself to help bitcoin grow ?
I am a member of a small growing Bitcoin and crypto community. Our conversations on that platform is centered only on Bitcoin, it's technologies, as well as other cryptocurrency. We do admit new members to the community and it is like a snowball technique. That's how we help Bitcoin grow. On a personal note, I help Bitcoin grow by reposting Bitcoin related news, guides, and all things Bitcoin.

Use it.  It is the best thing you can do to help.  When ever you get a chance to use Bitcoin, do it.  Whether it is paying for a vacation booking in Bitcoin, paying for groceries, purchasing Gift Cards for your local shopping, paying your bills if possible et cetera, there are a lot of possibilities and the more people are using these payment processors or Services, the less likely it is that they give up on Bitcoin.  More over.  The more we are using it, the more likely it is that others will start accepting Bitcoin too because they would be missing on Customers and Profit.

Thank you for those ideas, I will begin research for making a lightning node/electrum server (I remember searching for Lnnode 2 years ago but it was a little complicated for me and I didn't finish it)
It would be ideal if you try to find a specific purpose in everything, why you are doing it, not only because you want to make a contribution. Your contribution will be much more useful if you do something that will work even without your daily physical engagement.
Over time, different problems always appear, direct or indirect. It is a greater contribution to solve such things than. I would say that the number of nodes is not the weakest point of the Bitcoin ecosystem.

What are you doing yourself to help bitcoin grow ?

Thank you.
Another way to help Bitcoin grow is by creating a public awareness or educating people about Bitcoin in your community, which can be done either directly or indirectly via the use of social media depending on government policies regarding Crypto in your geographical location, whereby you emphasize on creating a flyer about Bitcoin related key points such as; "importance of saving in Bitcoin", Why it's good to invest in Bitcoin, e.t.c. And there are several ways a public awareness can be made, as you can either create a blog dedicated to posting educative piece about Bitcoin/Crypto or create a YouTube channel where you teach people how to use Bitcoin related tools (e.g Wallets, exchange or projects).

However, What I am doing myself to help bitcoin grow is by assisting and educating people who don't know about Bitcoin but wishes to invest in it to achieve their dreams. I also help people convert their Bitcoin into fiat currency (p2p).

I wish I could but I can only get paid in FIAT as I receive money from a large mainstream company.
I have received one payment in BTC so far from a friend because I painted his appartment Smiley

I'd say two things. To support privacy run a node over tor. And to encourage the use as a medium of exchange for small payments, run a lightning node.

As far as I know, there’s only one major active lender here, so this could be a good opportunity for you. Although, it’s considered high risk since most loans are unsecured, but that lender has been doing it for a while, so it seems to be profitable I guess.

I'll check that thank you, I didn't even know it existed Smiley this forum is huge and I didn't check it all Smiley

Run a Lightning node and open a few channels and try to get people to route payments through you.

Run a Bisq client and open a few offers.

Operate a Nostr relay.

Start an Electrum public server.

Use your sats to donate to important projects that need funding.

The possibilities are endless.

How about paying for goods or services you usually use with Bitcoin? VPN and email provider/account usually are easiest option to start, especially if you still use Google Mail and use internet without VPN or similar option.

I've done it a few times but I'm still stacking and I don't have a lot ^^
