the success of the project is not only in the whitepaper, if you want to know directly about a good project, you must communicate with the team or the developer. so that you get a lot of information.

I am always reading a whitepapers of any project and paying attention to the product description and the future plans. If these points are explained in detail I usually invest in such projects. I also trying to find similar docs in google to check if the team has copy pasted something.

Whitepaper could not be the only things that you see to know whether the project is going to succeed or not, but it could get the basic idea of the project, from the whitepaper you can see how detail is the vision and the features of the project, what is the roadmap, and the information of the developers team

50% of the whitepaper provides many references to the success of the project, if you read a white paper, you should also investigate outside the whitepaper for example about the domain they are using and the team involved. as a good reader will give concrete beliefs before you participate in developing the project

There are many things to check, first make sure it's not an plagiarism whitepaper, many scam projects use plagiarism whitepapers, copy content from whitepapers of other projects. Then check information about their team, find out fake member. Third check about technical and products.

understand the concept of the ICO project that is in the whitepaper. It is a way that might be used to find the ICO is good for investment. but this is no guarantee that that will be found is not the ICO scam, but at least this kind of analysis is to be done to be able to predict how future projects later.

dont be greedy
some ICOs do have the same goals as the ICO before, in this case I prefer to succeed the ICO who first sparked creative ideas
for example, there was the Datum project, which was a marketplace and gave free rights to data circulating on the internet by individuals and institutions
after this project was successful in holding ICO, many projects wanted to emulate the footsteps of this Datum, such as Dataerum, HUT34, Projet Shivom and so on. And you know for yourself, that the majority is ICO failed, even though it was successful, even now the product has not been released

Hi, I am new to this field... I have read several white papers, but I really have no idea how to evaluate whether the whitepaper is good written or not, can you give me some tips on what constitutes a good whitepaper? Is the white paper quality related to the project’s success?

Thanks so much!!

That's a good start as newbie is to read always the white paper like what I did until now , and I'm going to monitor it , so with my ten months of doing it ,  as I encounter a scam project , a successful and unsuccessful project , now I can easily compare and differentiate each project and also to determine which project is good to join .

It is okay for me to read whitepaper even with a wrong grammar. My only aim is the team wants to understand the reader on their whitepaper which is the investor. I first find the technical explanation of the coin's purpose. And I want also to see its roadmap to see future development of their project.

The reason that the whitepaper is so important is that if it is a legit project they are more likely to put in a lot of effort into it, one thing I have noticed with a lot of scam projects is that they really do not care about how well the whitepaper is written so there are a lot of grammatical errors and typos in them which is an indicator

When analyzing them, try to answer the following questions:
-Does this coin / project have a target?
- If so, which one? What problem is it trying to solve?
-Can they solve the actual problem?
- How good is their team?
- How strong is their code?
-Do they have a roadmap?
-Is their activity transparent?

not really, actually the ICO project was successfully determined how the contents of the whitepaper were realized in the real form with the time of the roadmap that had been set. because the whitepaper will only be our reference for how this ICO will develop. we don't need theory but real results

You can evaluate an ICO whitepaper base on the problem the team intend to solve with their ideas. If the problem is something that is bothering the crypto community and you can forecast if the solution that will be provided by the team will enhance the adoption of the project then I think is good to buy.

First assume, that EVERY ICO is made to bring money to the guys behind it. You should have a very good reason to invest in something, other than just the dream of getting rich. Bring up terms like development, support base, technology, uniqueness and usefullness. If you are not satisfied with the answers on only one of these topics, than it is probably not worth it.

Thanks for the comment. But these topics are not easy for newcomers like me to evaluate correctly, are there also some linguistic cues that you think are good indicators of the quality of the project?  e.g. the amount of details provided, or whether it’s easy to read...

It is important to know what you are investing in. If you don't understand what the ICO is good for, then don't buy it. Check the people behind that ICO. An easy read means, that they have a good writer... nothing more nothing less. A lot of details can mean everything ad nothing.

The white paper is sometimes written by professional writers rather than the people behind the project, so be carefull.  Do your own due diligence-check out the company and individuals very very carefully. Apart from the obvious places to search like google, look at official sources such as Companies House in the U.K. you can get a great deal of information (https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/) other countries will have something similar.  The individuals can also be checked for bankruptcy etc (again in the u.k. at  https://www.thegazette.co.uk/)

Most ICO's have great whitepapers, even those which are scam projects have good whitepapers. It is the team that makes a project unique so that is what you should investigate before investing in the project.

The whitepaper has to be about 30 pages long, include tables, charts and other kinds of visualized content. It should be divided into a big amount of sections and subsections and include both technical and vision-related information.  You should also take a look at their legal information, their responsibilities as a team. The bad thing is that even if a Whitepaper is great, it does not mean that the ICO is worth it. I'd say that a nice whitepaper is a must, but a team with blockchain-related experience, a working prototype and some project-related partnerships can tell a lot more.

I think for one to evaluate a good ICO the whitepaper is good But i look deeply on the Team. I will find out the class of people that made up the ICO.

There's also the communication aspect, do they communicate with people on a daily or weekly basis? Do they offer constant updates about the project? Do they engage in discussions about the project with the investors? and so on...

And those are just a few aspects about evaluating a project that you're looking to invest in, you shouldn't just look at the whitepaper, otherwise, you will fall for an ICO scam.

Thanks for your suggestion! Are there some specific channels or websites that may help evaluate their communications with investors?

You can't, nowadays everyone can copy-paste a well-written whitepaper from another project. You have to look at several factors like the idea behind the project, you need to check out that it isn't some money-grabbing vague idea with no substance. You also need to know if they're offering something innovative for the market, otherwise, you'll be investing in yet another project that offers nothing different from the 90% of the market.

There are no specific tips, which have a lot of role here is your ability to conclude and speculate logically,

Is the white paper quality related to the project’s success?
Of course,
Quality speaking is like speaking of the ability to influence. The whitepaper is structured as a tool to influence people even though many of them contain foolish things. So, back to my first statement.

while in reality they don't do anything remotely close to that.
Then they will laugh in front of their PC after the ICO is completed and reach the softcap. Maybe only one thing they really successful to implement from the various plans in their roadmap after that...

Read it thoroughly, check the members and key members of the team about their reputation, use google, dig deep about the parent firm and check the rating on ico benchmark site - but you can never be 100% sure.

All I know is that I know nothing.
you can not because most of the times these ICOs don't even write their own whitepaper. instead they pay someone with quite a lot of experience in the field to write something without even knowing what their project is about. they have experience in creating a good advertisement for that shitcoin.

also ICOs are always using a cool looking idea to fool you into thinking they are actually implementing that idea. and their paper is filled with that while in reality they don't do anything remotely close to that.

Evaluating the white paper sometimes the team is important. That will show the commitment that the coin is backed with experienced developers but that isn't all though. The future goals are important too. That will guide an investor as to if the coin can stand the hard times.

Technical details and concept of the project can easily be made into words put in a PDF file, what you might want to investigate are the teams behind the whitepaper, behind the project. Experienced investors don't come all the way to invest due to the concept alone in the whitepaper.  These isn't even enough to make them do it but some just trust in giving away their coins hoping to have good returns because they see MVPs so consider the community they build for the ecosystem too.

The first thing I look at, when I open the whitepaper, is statistics. Good ICO is not shy of it and always try to demonstrate it.
