If you are already hitting 1 Mb/s then you cant do shit but pay your ISP more money for a better line.
If you are not, forward your port, use a VPN if your ISP throttles torrent traffic, private trackers are generally faster too.

i think its just a matter of upgrading your connection, and paying a bit more.
make sure ports are opened
have optimal settings for your torrent client (these are available online)
have a better connection

Also make sure the torrents you are trying to download have many seeders. If there's only one seeder and their connection is worse than yours then you're going to be waiting a while.
If your connection is 1mb/s there is what you will get. You will never be able to download something faster than your nominal speed. If you have trouble with downloading torrents the only thing you can do is to pick heavy seeded files. That is all.

Playing around with setting won't do anything for you in terms of increasing your speed.
Contact your ISP to see if they can get you a better connection.
Don't download/buy shitty scam software that promises to boost your internet speed.
