Finally I have figured it out, thanks to you people here .
I want to trade the bit coin for cash . How do I wind  up with the cash in my pocket? It is around $2500.00  .
Have you gone past in verifying your Electrum wallet and was able to sweep the private keys printed on your receipt?

If yes then you can use P2P platform if you prefer not doing any KYC/AML verification to maintain your anonymity. However, you'll need to provide an information regarding your bank account to make the transaction possible.

Wow, that's a lot of money you've got. Which country you're living in? Binance would be the best exchange for you to exchange that in cash.

Check this guide on how you'll convert that bitcoin into cash/fiat local currency that you have. Are you sure that you would like to exchange that already and don't want to hold it for long as an investment?

Guide: 3 Ways You Can Sell Bitcoin Into Cash: A Quick Guide from Binance

This is just another method because there are plenty of methods that you can find.

Look easy to know you have assets bitcoin fund in your wallet, just open blockchain website and paste your bitcoin address so this will show how much transaction you made and how many bitcoin assets do you have, if you really have bitcoin in your wallet so use private key or your data login to get bitcoin fund, I think looks crazy question how come some one do not know with bitcoin assets in his wallet and how does he forget to log in or you not have any btc.

I believe that Bitcoin price is now calling on everyone who once held Bitcoin or had something to do with Bitcoin to search their wallets to see if there is anything left inside, well it is really justifiable. Also, about knowing if there is Bitcoin in your wallets the first thing to do would be to search for the wallet address on blockchain explorer, this will display the content of the wallet for you to know and if something is there, then you can easily import the private keys to a wallet like Trust wallet and access the content in it. Hope you finds something in it. And lastly, remember to protect your private keys well.

If you have the private keys then you can check it directly my importing into the multi-coin wallets and hoping it will surprise you then. You can also directly search your btc address on blockchain explorer for fast knowing if you have hidden treasure in your old wallets. I also tried to recover some wallets but no hope to me i don't have btc hidden in my old wallets.

and I'm wondering if I put my public address in to the box, will it confirm the amount of bitcoins the receipt ( paper wallet ) holds ?
Yes, the public address/bitcoin wallet address starts with the number/character of "1" or "3" or "bc1q". Just as you've been reminded that you shouldn't show the private keys. Just as the picture above labels "address:" then that's your address and it's ok to copy-paste it on blockstream.info or any explorer website.

It will show how much bitcoins you've got. Good luck! I hope that you've got a lot.

That is exactly what I have !  Just like in the photo you sent. yes I got them at an ATM machine. My question is how can I know if they are still valid. I mean ,I had several receipts like that , and used some to buy things. I don't know if these are old receipts that I spent or if they have bit coin in them still.
If I take them to an ATM machine, will it just gobble them up ,and spit out cash? Or would it indicate the value and ask me how much I want to cash out ?

I've never experienced a Bitcoin ATM but you'll never know unless you try. I think you should be able to know the amount at least when you use a Bitcoin ATM.

And about to your topic, the very simple answer to that is open up your wallet, web wallets doesn't require any private keys to be open but you'll just have to enter your email or username and password to open it up, and the opposite when you're opening a hardware wallet or an app wallet like Electrum. It's just disappointing when you forget where you put or doesn't remember anymore your private key.

I'm a senior, and just discovered 2 separate slips of what looks like a cash register receipt . They have the long string of digits on them, and a warning not to show them to anyone . I don't have any account anywhere ,just these slips of paper that I got out of a bitcoin machine . I remember holding one up to my phone to pay for services ,but that was several years ago.  Is there an easy way to see if I still have bitcoin remaining ?

bitcoin ATMs supply you with a paper wallet, which should have a private key (this is what you should never show anyone!) and a public address, which is where your coins are held on the blockchain. the better ones supply QR codes for each one, for better functionality. an example:

see that "1L.....Hn4" alpha-numeric string? that's the bitcoin address. if you plug that into a block explorer like https://blockstream.info/ it will display the balance. if you have a QR code, you can scan it here: https://blockstream.info/scan-qr

however, i do urgently recommend that you obtain a proper bitcoin wallet, verify the download, and then sweep your private key into it. the paper wallet provided by a bitcoin ATM is generally not considered secure:

Quote
It is a general practice to sweep bitcoins from such a receipt as soon as possible and it is highly not advisable to use such receipts as a form of paper wallet storage. Bitcoin address was generated by a bitcoin ATM which you cannot control, so in case the machine was compromised – potentially there is a vector of attack to access your funds. So sweep bitcoins from receipt as soon as you get your own wallet, or you have address where to send them, e.g. to pay for something.

a good choice is electrum. see here: [GUIDE] How to Safely Download and Verify Electrum [Guide]
