I just casually screw around with php mostly... anyone have a debian/ubuntu client that is already patched in package form?

You will want Gavin's monitorblocks patch.

I would like to set up some scripts to monitor the block chain.  Is there any way to do this directly with php?

Any tips on the best way to get started would be great.  I don't mind parsing logs either but I cant seem to locate the information i need.
