If someone is still facing the same problem as the author of this discussion, I've seen a couple of apps that make your phone, basically, a brick. They turn off unnecessary apps, games, notifications, etc.

I don't remember the name, but I believe that there are plenty of them on iOS and Android.

To de-program you'll need to counter the program by doing the opposite of what your body have become used to. You need to repeat it long enough until your body become used to the counter program.

It may seem that it is impossible but not until so many years ago we always lived disconnected and that was natural!

Some can say that in modern times having a phone is a must, but a friend of mine has never had one and, apart from a few inconveniences when he needs to receive an SMS to access his bank account and things like that (he relies on a familiar for such things), he lives a more focused life.

I don't mean by this that you should become a digital hermit, simply encourage you to correct with small actions a behavior that, from what you describe, begins to generate discomfort.

A behavior becomes part of us when we repeat it very often, it gets cemented in our mind and moves us to do it automatically.
That's basically you functioning in automated state, meaning you are nolonger in control. In simple language, your body has become used to things.
We could programmed ourselves to do something automatically or subconsciously when we consciously do it repeatedly, and it would become part of us

To de-program you'll need to counter the program by doing the opposite of what your body has become used to. You need to repeat it long enough until your body becomes used to the counter program.

Now I take my phone even to the bathroom, and as soon as I get home and lie down, I start scrolling through videos and social media, absorbing tons of fragmented information until I feel dizzy. Why can’t I stop doing something that I know is harmful and doesn’t even make me feel happy?
Nowadays almost everyone from children to adults are addicted to social media. To reduce this addiction, you can set aside some time from your daily schedule for social media and put your phone away at the end of the time. Try not to pick up the phone unnecessarily. When the thought of using the phone comes to your mind, you should keep yourself busy with other things such as: reading a book, doing creative work, talking to a friend or family member, spending time in nature. You won't be able to curb your addiction overnight, but I think these small steps will help you gradually curb your addiction.

There is nothing in the world that people cannot. So if you want to, you can. But the point is that your environment is forcing you to do so. You learn to use your phone by watching your friends, they constantly post pictures, share reels, which basically releases a happy hormone called dopamine in your head. As a result you feel very happy and relaxed. You now have to find something else that makes you happy outside of social media.

Also on YouTube you will find many videos on how to stay away from the distractions of other creatures.

It is more a result of habituation and psychological processes, where our brain becomes accustomed to something that is easily available and gives instant gratification, such as social media or videos. When you scroll or watch a video, your brain releases a type of "happy hormone" called dopamine, which gives a temporary feeling of well-being. However, this satisfaction is short-lived, and doing the same thing over and over again makes you more driven, but eventually it can start to cause mental or physical damage, such as dizziness or fatigue.

Breaking out of these requires mental fortitude, such as self-awareness, taking short breaks, or limiting and specifying screen time.

I also have an addiction. You need to get out of the habit, read different techniques on how to reduce the amount of time with the phone in your hands.

I completely agree here.

because that is what you wanted , if not then you  will find better options than just using your phone lol.

try to be more productive , since you have nothing good to do in your mobile best to delete all the APPs that helps you doing nothing but scrolling .

join airdrops or telegram games so you cn earn while using mobile .
He could make good use of the phone to learn about new ideas and earn through it, I see people use their phone to create good contents on different social medias get likes and earn with their phone, instead of watching other people they now get watched by people and get paid for it, it's not bad to gather nformations from the media with your phone, however it depends on the right and quality information. You know, information they say is power but the right information could set a standard of success. Well he could still smash it on the wall if he thinks it ain't useful, hahahaha.

Sounds like you are using your phone as a way to distract you from your purpose and responsibilities in life.
exactly , and this phone is hindering Him from being a good human .

Mobile is created for easy access but not to turn our life into miserable one like what OP is doing now .

best to use Oldschool phone that has no internet connection but instead just to call and text others .

Well for me to not use it so much I do not put it next to my side when I am going to sleep. I will put the phone in my kitchen so I can be wake up only when the alarm does sound.
We should not bring the phone in the bathroom with us. It is a bad habit for us to do that in a dirty place.

It’s crazy knowing this is how I feel. Sometimes I just wonder how I ended up here. I believe this is what almost 99.9% the youths out there are also battling with. But not all are bothered about it. As much as phone is good it’s also harmful.

One personally needs to start regulating how they uses phones daily.
