Try to use the cryptocurrency media advertisement,global influencers, social medias, youtube and every tools you can use to maximize your traffics, you may need a money aswell to run this so that your marketing will became good.

There are many promotional options available to you...

You can promote continuously on cryptocurrency forums like Reddit, cryptocompare and cryptoroom.org
Target cryptopreneurs and specific crypto channels on other general forums like quora and promote
Also, by  sparing some little drops of the tokens listed on your exchange to your users, you can rapidly grow your community...

apart from things already mentioned here, there are lot of other things that can be done. some might be little grey but highly effective. Most people have basic approach to getting traffic. traffic is not equal to paying customer or trading user. so tell me one usp that can be marketed to gain userbase, and whole campaign can be based around it. I'd also start buying ads on CMC, getting some fake volume. redesign the UI as per 2018 standards, and relaunch exchange saying you are upgrading the platform and atleast add 1-2 new features. Do some PR. this shud help you position in the market and give good burst of targeted traffic.

Is this a digital asset exchange like hitbtc for example? You should tell us the name of your exchange if this is a reputable and no bad records from the community then this forum is one of the best platform to promote your company as there are many crypto traders here follow the advise of some members start a signature campaigns its proven. 

Apart from Reddit, Twitter, Facebook promotion etc the best promotion for an exchange is the coins it lists.
So I think you should get in touch with popular alts and make them tradable to your platform. This will attract many people combined with low fees for a certain volume of trading by each user.

If bit.cc is your exchange, then I can tell you that you need a cleaner landing page, with your buy/sell rates immediately available. Customers are only loyal to two things in crypto: the nett price (minus spreads and fees) and the speed of delivery with fiat if you offer that. KYC/verification checks also will push them elsewhere.

If the price shown on your landing is the average between spots, then it appears you lack competitive pricing.


Actually, the forum is a good place not because people are holders and investors here, but because they're pretty much bounty hunters and speculators, if you're looking for the crowd that wants to exchange a lot. The holders and investors either earn, or trade irregularly. Advertise in the altcoin sections, rather than in Bitcoin (where the holders are who aren't likely to be very active with trading).

LOL may be correct but recent days people coming ieth project for promotion purposes has been reduced than previous months. If the value grows more in the marketplace then we can find promotion at here or anywhere.
Since there is nothing works good, this one may works well for the investors to get the traffic to their site. All they need to do is to select the good manager and PR team to give hard support.

I think, this forum (bitcointalk.org) is the perfect place to promote your exchange, because most of all members of this forum are crypto holders and investors. And if you have an enough knowledge in crypto and you have the capability on managing, you can conduct a bounty campaign for your project, but if you're not, you can hire a high reputable bounty manager that will help you to promote your project smoothly. And hiring a high reputable bounty manager can give you a high chances of success on your project.

A lot of people have made some serious and potent suggestions which I am sure you are considering but as a caveat, I want to add that you don't expect immediate response in terms of the number of signups because when it comes to advertising for crypto services especially a market that has been saturated just like this, it should be a long term advertisement plan.

Five years is enough to have  carve out a niche for yourself in the service you are offering and this is a lesson for every tech guys that its not only about being able to code but there is need for a business minded individual in the team to drive sales as that is the aftermath of any great product.

We have a one year old exchange, and have not many clue how to promote it either. Thx for advice. Very good suggestions, I am learning these from other major exchanges as well. Yet, what do you think is the chance to surpass the already strong exchanges.

list more alt coins! there are alt coins out there begging to be put on to exchanges. some cant afford the bigger exchanges listing fee's. example i hodl bitcoin supreme while it is listed on tradesatoshi and stocks.exchange, you could potentaily bring more user in just because arbitrage trading

What kind of feedback are you getting from the users that left you? I think one of the things you would need to look at is to find the reason why people are moving away from your service. It might be that some new service is offering something that you are not offering.

I would suggest that you send out emails to the "dormant" account holders and to pay them for their honest feedback about your service. Once you found the reason why they left, you can address the problems.

There is no sense in acquiring new users, if they are just going to do the same thing. Solve the issues and then market the platform.

I would advise launching a huge advertising campaign on crypto related websites such as steemit and cointelegraph, pay for ad rotations on famous news websites like forbes and possibly launch a viral marketing campaign if you can afford it.

You should look into this advise:


Try to locate or find out the wrong thing why users do leave out and then you next focus on advertisement.

It is either you follow the tips from the post above or you can start the signature campaign by managing it on your own. To do that, you only need to start a thread in services section in marketplace and then contact a trusted escrow if you want to gain the trust of your participants. You can monitor the website's traffic by yourself to see if your effort in starting a signature campaign is paying off.

Get in contact with a trusted campaign manager. I would recommend you to decide your budget and then contact one manager accordingly. You can take help of the list given here to come to a decision. Afterwards they will set up a campaign for you and you can monitor the traffic to your site in order to evaluate whether its paying off or not.

To my mind rebranding and massive advertisement while having a great support and fast and reliable service will not only help you to keep current customers, you'll get more and more. Rebrading is key here too with my mind, only advertisement can't help you because people will ask: Where were you 5 years ago? Well, still not a big issue to my mind but I think what I wrote will give you a boost.

It's no use to speculate anything, maybe it's fake, maybe it's not, who knows?

Back on topic. OP, you can advertise your site on Etherscan or other popular platforms, such as Coingecko. The exposure is great here, but you also need a lot of money. I think social media promotion is useless unless you can hire someone influential. Stop using social media bounty hunters, they won't bring traffic to your project because they're also promoting 100 others.

But still, are you sure your exchange is not losing the competition because of lack of features, bad customer support, slow trading speed and etc? There is no need for promotion if your exchange is bad, it will be a waste of money.

I'm surprised that a user who has had an exchange since 2013 hasn't had an account on Bitcointalk so far? Also I am surprised that this user did not mention the name of this exchange and did not respond to comments. Maybe it's fake?

What was the source of traffic if you didnt promote it at that time? If you got a number of customers sign up at one time - do check what the source of traffic was and you might find some interesting info.

It is not correct to say "unknown" Maybe they are known but the owners are not able to recognize the problem. We humans have the habit or remembering only the good thing and brushing the bad things under the carpet. Its important to rectify those problems as well.

New users wont be attracted if old users have a problem. The way to get back old users is to take into account what the problems are. Maybe revamp your site and take the suggestions into account. Maybe get a proper PR and Management team to work for you.

People tend to stick with an exchange they have used before.  If you are losing users, it means something is wrong.  Advertising may get you new users, but it won't fix the issue that is causing the users to leave in the first place.

When users leave, offer them something to do a survey and tell you WHY they are leaving.

You don't need to go further because this forum is your best re-course. But as others have suggested, create a ANN thread here. Sort of giving the community a glimpse of what your exchange is all about so that we can see what offers you can give us. Perhaps users will try your platforms specially if fees is significant lower than other existing trading exchanges we have right now.

I would recommend for you to seek new upcoming communities with lots of token holders who need to list their token and be the first one to list them. Of course, you need to choose wisely. 

@kate.poisonglen stated the general ways. To add, here's how you can advertise in Bitcointalk:

1. Make an Announcement Thread about your Exchange - since your account is a newbie, it would be better if you'll upgrade to a Copper Member to be able to post images. Read more at Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images
2. Advertise on this forum via ad space - there's an ongoing auction now, check the details at Advertise on this forum - Round 255
3. Signature and Social Media Campaigns - they have mentioned it above. I just want to add that you should hire a trusted campaign manager for this, not really necessary but recommended (check List of Campaign Managers)

• Signature - Participants will be wearing a signature representing your exchange and it will be exposed in the forum every time the participants make a post (for ex. mine, I was wearing a BQT signature below)
• Social Media - Participants will like, follow, talk about your service on Facebook, Twitter or other social networking sites

Normal thing to happen which you would really lose up users due to this kind of handling but im still amazed that you do able to sustain for 5 years which we cant see on most exchangers but still even those new do able to get to the top spot because they done the proper way of advertising at the same time giving out the best service among traders in the market. First off, marketing do really matter which you should allocate funds into this one where advertising your exchange into this forum itself will be a good start and as suggested above try to run up a signature campaign, making ANN threads, social medias and all sorts as long it would spread awareness of this exchange but be sure that your exchange would be ready to meet users demands or expectations which can tie up with famous exchangers too if you do like to succeed.

Well, i think the best option is to promote it with a signature campaign on this forum, campaigns aren't cheap at all, but they are an efficient way to promotion any cryptos related business.

Other way would be with Google and Facebook campaigns, you know those kind of campaigns where you pay each click you get, but those companies say each click is a potential client, so, sometimes worth it.

The user above covered it all in a nutshell but you should start by creating your own thread on marketplace, services, or on service discussion section here in this forum if you haven't already started a thread here. Another good first step to advertise your exchange is to start a signature campaign, reddit campaign or social media campaign if your team can afford it.

The whole crypto market doesn't feel well these days, so it's not only about exchange platforms. All crypto projects lose users.
Still, if you have a viable product and a good offer you may still save your boat from drowning. Try the following:

1. Promote your platform on Quora, Reddit and all cryptocurrency-related forums in the relevant topics.
2. Find reputable services with crypto-oriented audience and contact them for cross-promotion.
3. Contact all the coins that are supported by your platforms and ask them to place the link to your platforms in the "exchanges" section.
4. If you already have some audience on social media, run a promo campaign. E.g. "No fees for 3 days for reposting our service on Facebook and Twitter". Duplicate this promo campaign via email marketing.
5. SEO is not dead either. A blog with many keyword-focused articles may attract more audience, but it will require lots of time and efforts. Wordpress+YoastSEO may facilitate the process.

Our exchange was founded in 2013, in the past 5 years, we did not pay much time or money in its promotion. The whole company were focusing on technology at that time.But now as you know,due to some known or unknown things, we are losing users everyday... Some loyal customers advised us to do some promotions to attract more new users. I am here to look for help, can anyone tell me how can I promote our exchange? Of course we will keep focusing on the technology at the same time.
