this is an interesting way of gambling but this is something that you should only do with your friends and those who know you and see you in person. on the internet it is hard to trust someone and then verify the result of the bet especially something that is a long term bet.

In short - like others said - gambling in real world and verifying the results and then collecting the payment is just too problematic, time consuming and can we plain waste of time and effort for most people.
That is the main reasons it is not popular at all. I witnessed some attempts of doing real life betting here and almost all of them ended in one party marked with red trust.

Gambling between users can be risky if one party decides to run away. You would need escrow which makes it more troublesome for both parties.
There are many things that need to be agreed upon like odds and betting amount before a bet can be placed. We have websites that allow you to bet with other users which is easier to use.

HODLing is an art, not just a word...
well, we don't know you here personally, to us you are a random person on the internet. apart from the the scamming part (no offense) we don't know your capabilities, for example like the above comment if we make a bet on you to take a bike ride across the country you might be an athlete and do it easily and win the bet!

I'd love to get some props going.

Are you saying that you'd be willing to take a bet on yourself riding a bike across countries?  I'd bet against that Smiley

It is so because forums are meant for discussion, be it a gambling forum or any other. People are here to "discuss" about gambling and when they are interested in actual gambling they opt for gambling sites.

It seems as if people are here to post int the gambling section, but hey, what do I know.

BTC to the moon is inevitable...
it is because people don't want to go through the headache of making a bet with someone they don't know. there is a lot of hassle like finding an escrow and then in the end verifying who has won the bet, etc.

also things you are suggesting like losing 75 pounds (34 kg) is not something people are interested in betting on.

I tried throwing out a bet that I was hopeful that people someone would be interested in but no takers. So I ask you, anyone interested in some wagers?

Simply because they are not interested (like your recent proposal) or being questioned it that is real, valid or something like that.

If you want a gamble here with person to person, meet me in NBA Finals 2016 although it's not your interest as stated in your previous thread but just giving you an option.

Challenge me to something and give be a specific number you are wanting to bet (and odds) and I will get back to you.

Bets of particular interest to me are going to be endurance bets, marathon, ultra, riding a bicycle across countries, you can see where I am going with this but I'm open to hearing any bet you have to offer.

Please keep in mind that if you're asking my dumb-ass to learn mandarin, the odds should reflect that it's a miracle I can tie my own shoes.

I'm down to verify completion of the bet through documentation and a third party and all bets will be held in escrow.
