Had a look at their website.  They list XBT and Litecoin under forex CFDs.  Using Mt Gox plus 0.1 % spread.

My guess is that it's not bitcoins it is CFDs linked to bitcoins.  Which means you take the credit risk on Plus500.  Which if the complaints from the English users are anything to go by, it's potentially a crappy deal.  

I don't know how much ASIC supervises what CFDs are tied to but expect they largely don't care.  ASIC makes very clear that it does not regard CFDs are suitable for most retail investors.
