So how you get duped? I will like to learn reasons from you.

I was cheated several times, unfortunately it was a very sad episode for me. I bought an altcoin where the Dev made several promises, I believed altcoin would go to the moon, but the devs ran away with funds to develop the project and altcoin fell a lot and with that I lost 90% of my money. then I went to buy verge that I believed the partnership they would make was something revolutionary until I knew they were partnering with a pornographic site. After that I started to avoid investing too much money in altcoins. The truth is that it is very difficult not to be deceived in this crypto world. Most people who create projects are dishonest and unethical people.

The moral of the story is that do not invest in new coins and projects. There are enough good coins in coinmarketcap and we should only invest in those top 100 good projects. I have seen a victim of few ICO where i spend some good amount but the token never make it to the exchanges. I have learnt my lesson well and now i do not invest in any ICOs.

ICOs are startups, just like the real world they are very risky but have a chance to bring a huge return on investment.  The days of bitcoin going 100x are over but it can still happen for some of these new projects.  Most new businesses fail so why should crypto be any different.

Scamming is very common in the crypto space, to be on the safer side it is must to be more aware about the market. Most often I encounter scams through Telegram. Recent being the one where an user requested me to support him in withdrawing his funds as he was unable to withdraw as his country has restricted from using the respective exchange. Also offered me to give half the amount withdrawn, and for the same I was supposed to deposit 0.2btc which is completely a trap.

For ex below are the stupidity:
1. I can send first to a newbie without escrow.

I have never scammed ever. But I learned how to prevent the scamming from a scammer. And I learned from them who already scammed by study their scamming issue.
If we are aware every time for everything then we can prevent the scamming.

99% of them are trash and 1% are the legit ones who would able to reach out on exchangers but majority of them do die along the way yet these project owners

didnt deliver on the thing that they should supposed to do when they are still seeking out investors.Investment do have always that corresponding risk thats why its important
to always have that kind of research before jumping in.

in my life ive been  scammed many time even before when cryptos are not yet present but im not going to showcase them all since they arent related to cryptos  .  on the year 2017 i started my journey here on crypto and on this forum   . the first scam that i experienced is from a bounty   , i join and joined lots of them in the hopes of earning some tokens but my expectation failed me since most of them didnt manage to pay  . only few have payed but their market value isnt really worth to sell  .

aside from that ,  i dont experience to scam anymore because im not really into investing stuffs   .  if ever i buy coins  , i only stick on the trusted ones  .

Scammers are every where even on this forum you can meet people. There are clear explanation on scam accusation section about these kind of problem in various thread.
Simply if you use any good and trusted escrow in this forum. Then there is no problem for anyone. This is the simple and best way to avoid scam issues.

Even someone who has been trustworthy in the past can turn into a scammer if the amount is high enough.  I've seen it many times before, most people have their price.
Obviously almost all members in crypto community got scammed. Actually, it's not easy for us to get rid of being scammed in this tough market. As we all know that crypto is considered a world of scammers and rarely a newbie or any others are not scammed.  Most of us, actually, are both careless when some first step entered the market. We have not prepared a good knowledge or not ready to start the work yet. In a nutshell, it takes for granted that being scammed in this market is not a shame or a very big mistakes, because this crypto world is inherently severe. The most important thing is that you have to realize the reason why you got scammed and try not to make the same mistakes twice.

I don’t even know whether it is possible to call it a scam, however, quite recently I invested in the Ocean Protocol on the Bittrex exchange, the sale was awful, for 3 days only 80% was collected, after the listing the price fell below nowhere.
It might be possible due to those bounty hunters who might have sold their tokens as soon as the token was listed. These is the common problem faced by a lot of investors including myself. Once we invest in any of the potential project, and it gets listed on any of the exchanges, the bounty hunters who got some tokens for their hardwork and promotion, starts placing their sell orders which then makes the price for that token reach the bottom as already due to newly listing, there is lower volume which makes is easier to reach the bottom or sky with few buy/sell orders. In such situation HODL your tokens to avoid getting into loss. Investors would never sell the invested token as soon as they hit exchanges.

Besides, each possible precaution used, I am been scammed few times but it does not really make the scammers more talented. Usually peoples get scammed because they don't care a lot about smaller amount and afford sending first. Also there are some scammers out there who would successfully deal with you for a couple of times and later on when it comes to higher amount trade, they would show their real faces there and would scam you.

This situation goes worst with the new peoples who just join the cryptocurrency revolution and are interested in making their first purchase but end up by someone scamming them. There are a lot of peoples warning newbies as well as most of the community in terms of this scams but yet peoples do fell for scam.

My stupid experience in the past was too trusting and because of ignorance about scams and other online worlds. I got information about getting bitcoin easily from bitcoin users on Facebook and after I sent some satoshi, I got or was given information about how to get the bitcoin intended by the scammer and it turned out that it was a trading contest that was really there, but it wasn't the way to get money is easy and I feel it is another scam mode which in the end I have got scammed.

If in the past when I just knew bitcoin, I was often cheated by HYIP investments.. Now, I have been scammed by many ICO projects. sad, investment again and again.

It was therefore being said be alert and do your own research before investing and invest only what you can afford to lose . Many of this projects have failed because the owner just created for the sake of their profits and not for the long term investors .

Look like most of here got scammed in HYIP ,bitcoin doubler.

I will categorize it as that most are not able to control the greed.

People scammed in lending because they trusted too much.

For Bounty hunters , yes you are scammed of your and you are used to scam others. I do not think if  I will think of promoting any ICO, IEO, STO or so on.

Till now , I do not see any complex setup is used by scammer in any story. I guess most user are careless/off guard when they were scammed.

I have not been scam because of investment of fiat, bjt i have been scammed before joining bounty campaign I was on the bounty most of the campaign but in the end I have not received any payment from the team. Being scam sometimes is not by an accident because sometimes it is because of greediness of the people and also having not enough knowledge when investing.

Getting scammed is very annoying on us, I remember before when I got scam on doubler investment in bitcoin. As I remember the name is Aurora cloud mining if I'm not mistaken. I was newbie in crypto at that time since I want extra earning I invested into that doubler site but after a week they've gone as in totally gone site and sad to say my bitcoin has also gone. Getting scam I think is in our fault by not having a research before engaging into them.

Getting scammed is one of the nastiest feeling and experience ever for me. I was tricked into believing that an email supposedly coming from a website whom I trust is a real one...it advised me to change something about my MEW account and so I log-in using the link provided by the email...it was of course a phishing site and once they have my login details then they wasted no time into harvesting my many tokens and coins in the wallet. I was then very neophyte at the time. I was not yet exposed how phishing works so I was naive to the max. In fact, nobody can really be careful these days as hackers, phishers and scammers are always ahead of the game...they are genius in looking for ways to get into you and if they can enter Binance there is no impediment why they can't steal your wallet. So be careful.

I havent being scammed in terms of transactions that do deal with digital good or any other items online yet i do always asked for escrows which i do basically know this thing
when im still noobs about crypto transactions.Reading up and hearing most peoples advices do really help out.

The only thing i do experience when it comes to scams is when i do invest when ponzi schemes due to greediness i have lost some money investing with these things.

I think the only time i got scammed on here was a few years ago where somebody sold a game key for pretty cheap
and i sent the btc first as stupid as i was and never got the key , he probably scammed several users that way.
I also technically got "scammed" by several account sellers over the years while promising lifetime guarantee replacements they never delivered those
some of them were rather expensive.

And partly my fault (for being so stupid to not withdraw coins that i'm not currently trading) were having at least 5 btc spread across on cryptsy , and several other exchanges that got "hacked" like mintpal and something with crypto in it's name i don't quite remember, bad memories!

Now i'm extra cautious when it comes to paying for something with BTC and i try to keep only the amount i'm trading with on exchanges, sadly i forgot that i still had funds on cryptopia and didn't even notice until last month that it got "hacked" hopefully i'll get my coins back.

Back then when i was still naive and don't have any single idea of how ponzi scheme work i just blindly investment in them and the first time i got my money back then i invested again and my investment never came back and i also invested at cloud mining shits back before, i don't have any regret about losing money because i didn't invest that much and it also taught me a lesson to not give scammers money.

Aside from too many faucets (just time though) and HYIP before, I was scammed also here, back in 2017, that was $1k from lending some sh*t. I wasn't aware of that trick, and that's the first time I observe even experience lmao. But the good thing is I get more than the amount I lost after a day from my services back there.

I was probably cheated when I was doing the bounty task, because I just joined bitcoin Forum. As a novice, I didn't know much about it, so I did a lot of bounty in one year, but I got very little return.

You raised a valid point. I also dabbed on bounties in 2018, joined a few of them and got excuses after excuses for not receiving the tokens on time. Many complain and unfortunately the project suddenly disappears after weeks of work.

So that is a eye opener for me not to go bounty hunting again, useless, takes time and tokens are not worth a penny at right now.

That's just what you can expect from Bounties. Trust me when you get scammed you know it, you feel it and it gnaws at you for a while.

For me it was just being naive when I got involved in BTC.  I trusted middlemen to much, like Paypal, I double checked with them before sending money for coins. Then big surprise I was left holding the bag, when I went in with a dispute. It's funny looking back because everything about that situation was red flags, but new and ignorant are hard handicaps to overcome.

I got scammed many times already. Many here maybe share their experience that they scammed from loans, invested in HYIP etc.

Probably many of us here experienced this already that we have been scammed as bounty hunters. We didn't get any payment after advertising their project and that is considered a scam Smiley. I have experienced it many times already and I know that many here experienced it too.

At this moment, I stopped already as a bounty hunter and I'm good enough already with my current signature campaign. I don't want to waste time already searching for bounty campaigns and in the end, I will not get paid.

Even the most skeptical, distrustful members among us have probably gotten scammed at one point.

I got scammed in 2016 when I dabbled in the lending business (never again).  TimSweat had light green trust and was a Sr. Member, so I figured I'd be alright giving him a loan of 0.3BTC with no collateral--and that wasn't a huge amount of money back in 2016.  And wouldn't you know it, the repayment date came and went and I got a bunch of excuses from him, and he finally stopped communicating.  So that's the one and only time I got burned on the forum.

From that episode, I learned a couple of things.  First, you can't rely on a person's trust score exclusively (which is what I did) when deciding whether you trust the person.  Accounts with green trust and high ranks can be bought easily, which is one of the reasons why I'm absolutely against account sales.  The second thing I learned is that you have to get collateral if you lend money.  And the third thing is that lending crypto just isn't worth the hassle, at least not for me.

So how you get duped? I will like to learn reasons from you.
I never scammed because every time I carefully in every step when I have something to deal with especially in cryptocurrency transactions.
But here is I can share you when I was almost fooled in telegram users that want me to withdraw his bitcoin on that he said exchange. He said to me that in their country he can't able to withdraw due to crypto banned. I make an account on an exchange he said and he transfers his bitcoin(3 bitcoin) to my account through my email address used. But, when I was withdrawing it, the site asking me to deposit first before I can withdraw the fund for 0.1 bitcoin. I was confused and doubted at that time, then, I contacted my friend who expert on looking legit website he concludes that the exchange I used is copycat and fake exchange.

A lesson to learned: Never been trust those in people in the telegram, a lot of scammers out there.

I believed you get into crypto currency when people are been warned I mean almost all crypto scammer tactics are comprehend because almost all cryptoneir are scammed back in the early 2015-2016 either through ROI investment, cloud mining, crypto MMM  etc.
I was once scam but was only through crypto MMM site.

it's not easy to know that we have joined a scam project when at the beginning we joined. usually after undergoing a few weeks later we realize by the way they do not renew the spreadsheet or begin to be lazy to answer what is asked.
some are even smart to do a bounty first and have not run ico, after completing the bounty and seeing it is not profitable to immediately stop, with the answer not to harm certain parties with the reason that they have not done ico.

I read lot of story of users got scammed. Despite several warning and negative feedback to scammer ,still user got scammed.

I like to know what assumption/stupidity did you did, that  get you  scammed.

For ex below are the assumption:

2. User must be speaking truth so I should believe him.

For ex below are the stupidity:
1. I can send first to a newbie without escrow.

Sometimes there is complexity.

1. User urged it is very limited time deal (like an hour) so you are not able check facts/use escrow and get duped.

Dude, I don't believe in the trust system because check the largest frauds on this forum. Were they done by newbies? All the ICOs, mining shares etc. bullcrap. Not only, some of the so called "trusted" members here sell their accounts. Check the marketplace section. Hero/Legendary accounts for sale are not hard to come by.

Not all the members are crazy in this forum bro. There are many legit DT members who are here take care the people and help the scammers away from this forum. Their efforts only making forum clean so far.
Even the account sellers are tagged here. I am not sure whom you are talking about. If you see any trusted members not behaving according to the rule you may complain to admins or top trusted members.

I can still remember those days that I was scammed by an HYIP and I wasn't still on this forum by that time. I thought that those kind of investments were the thing that bitcoin was used of.

But what's good with that experience, I've known the forum and started to search about that scam company that I've invested my few mbtcs that I've collected before. Good people and pioneers keeps on saying that every kind of that investment scheme were all scam and I'm very happy that I came here and learned a lot from them. Thankful to this community and those people who have shared their knowledge when I was still new.

Have not been scammed before since I started Crypto, but the side mistake I did was at the time of BITCONNECT. That was the only aspect I know I lost my money. In which I see lots of people get scammed either on telegram, Whatsapp group and so have you. If one is security conscious and vigilant when doing online business then it's a Go win.

Never trust anyone who create an account and then start talking about their personal life problem and ask for loan.
Never trust a green trusted member as well and help him without securing your asset first.

I was never scammed but once I was blown away by a newbie's kindness. I helped him without any expectation but the guy kept his word that he said. Check the trust feedback I sent to that user.

I have not actually been scammed in terms of fiat or bitcoin but I will say it is also a scam when after labouring on bounty, you don't get coin distributed to you or developers close up outfit and run off. This is scam for my thinking.

I read lot of story of users got scammed. Despite several warning and negative feedback to scammer ,still user got scammed.

I like to know what assumption/stupidity did you did, that  get you  scammed.

For ex below are the assumption:
1. Nobody is here to scam.
2. User must be speaking truth so I should believe him.

For ex below are the stupidity:
1. I can send first to a newbie without escrow.

Sometimes there is complexity.

1. User urged it is very limited time deal (like an hour) so you are not able check facts/use escrow and get duped.

So how you get duped? I will like to learn reasons from you.
