first you have to select a good ico.that is the most important part of the procedure. for that you have to learn how to do a reaserch about project.if you not keen enough as a newbie better to get openion of your friend.then 2nd step is whitelisting. you should go to the website of specific project and give your details which they are asking. your name/ country/ email and so on. most of the time you have to provide valid national id/ driving licence or passport. once you whitlisted they will inform you by a email. final step is you will have wait till ico/ presale begins and send btc/ ethereum or what ever the accepted currency to given address .then you will get token.most of the projects give tokens with bonuses for early investers
