Consider merit points like a Facebook like, you are not supposed to ask for it but other will give it for your quality/valuable posts so the best way to gain merit points is to gain maximum knowledge and share it with other members. Do not attempt to manipulate the system as staff and other members are smart enough to hunt such attempts. Be genuine and keep it natural, that's it.

Merit is hard to earn right now cause first  is you must contribute on this forum by posting good quality post second merit is still depends on every members if they want to give you merit or not.

In first day releasing Merit, it was very easy to get, but now it's very hard to get one. You think that your post should reward merit, but merit owners don't think that. You don't have right to claim. They just think that you're not deserved with their merits.

Merit is given to a person if he/she is contributing and helping other members through posting high quality post. So means if your a shit poster dont expect to get merit from other members.

It's about patience and providing quality posts on top of everything else. The merit will come, don't you worry. Helping others has a profound rippling effect that will eventually make it's way back to you! Learn from the discussions, ask questions, and then contribute when you think you can!

Cheers!

Yes, firstly read this topic. And remember: Don't look for easy ways to get merits. Better try, write very high-quality posts and you will be rewarded, don't break forum rules. Don't repeat other people's mistakes

Watch out my friend whatever you do don't send PMs to people they might report you for begging merits and you'll have your red mark same as the others, bad is they will tag you as "Merit beggar", but you can beg on your close friends, but don't ask for too much, they will mark you "Merit Farmer". Don't post shit asking merit they will poke you.

As for earning merits, I don't know, they have rules on them but I don't think some people are following it.

I guess you don't have to worry about getting sMerit, because you need to do posts that have quality and contribute to the progress of this forum, of course from reviewers who know your posts qualified build criteria and beneficial for the development of this forum sMerit you can get from them (reviewers).
indeed this effort (Merit system) is very helpful to limit the activity of spammers.

I have been wondering how and when I will get my own merit.  I see some members with as much as 100merits and I have been thinking what is required to get the merits and who will give them to me?
