So I change OS to Debian Sid and then type apt-get cgminer?

Well, Ubuntu is Debian based, usually Debian packages end up in Ubuntu repos also.

Have you search if the package is available for you?

EDIT:

Here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/saucy/cgminer

cgminer available on saucy.

I'm on Debian Sid with the official repos:

# apt-cache search bitcoin
bfgminer - multi-threaded multi-pool ASIC, FPGA and GPU bitcoin miner
bitcoin-qt - peer-to-peer network based digital currency - GUI
bitcoind - peer-to-peer network based digital currency - daemon
cgminer - multi-threaded multi-pool GPU, FPGA and ASIC bitcoin miner
electrum - Easy to use bitcoin client
python-electrum - Easy to use bitcoin client - python module
libblkmaker-0.1-0 - implementation of getblocktemplate protocol
libblkmaker-0.1-dev - C implementation of getblocktemplate protocol - development files
litecoin-qt - peer-to-peer network based digital currency - Qt GUI
litecoind - peer-to-peer network based digital currency - daemon

cgminer and bfgminer are at an apt-get install away. Smiley

How do I install cgminer on Ubuntu 13.10? I would like to use cgminer with scrypt on AMD gfx card. (on a laptop)

What commands do I type in the terminal? It is on a fresh install.
