I do not think my MUE wallet is working properly. It's not connecting at all. On lower right corner there is an icon showing it's not connecting. I have i7 16 GB memory and a gtx 1060 nvidia card.
Sometimes the wallet comes with a working list of peers to connect, sometimes it does not. I think that you are in the second case, you will have to go to their homepage or bitcointalk announcement thread, get peers and add them to configuration files.
It's quiet simple.

Anyway if you want to mine you do not have do download any wallet, you can just use a wallet address generated by an exchange and mine with a proper software.

For any wallet, if you want to really use it, you have to wait to find peers to connect to and sync. However, the view you've shown if for the transactions, try to use the mining tab for mining.
Unfortunately I don't know MUE, so I can't help very much on that.

About "other alt currency" it depends very much on which currency and what hardware you have.
You can try to mine any coin with your CPU but in most cases you'll waste electricity with tiny to no reward at all.
Some coins can be mined with GPU, but in most cases (electricity cost, computer configuration, coin chosen) it may be cheaper to buy than to mine.

Now this being said, most coins are not mined efficiently (or at all) from wallet. Instead there are specialized mining programs.
For CPU mining there's this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1326803.0;topicseen among many other.
For GPU mining there's Claymore's and other miners, it depends if your GPU is AMD or GeForce.

It's an equation with a lot of variables and I don't know very well what you want to know.

Dude I want to start mining

I downloaded the wallet. Here is the screenshot. It seems that nothing is working. The wallet doesn't seem to connect to anything

Here is the screen shot. What should I do next?

I've heard that there are software that will automatically optimize mining several different currency. What is it?
