It will never go through because the the user-activated hard fork take place on October 23 while the full network launch is scheduled for November 1 just like BCH which user-activated was schdule for August 1 and the full was launch acouple of days after. Besides, is yet to be available on the coin cap market so you to wait till Nov, ok?

The network isn't live yet, which means that the coin doesn't exist yet. Only the blockchain snapshot has happened.

If you had coins in a supported exchange at the time, you would have received the coins and would be able to trade them in the future market. If you didn't, you will have to wait until BTG launches, download a compatible wallet, and import your Bitcoin private keys to be able to manage and spend the BTG coins that you received after the fork. You should be able to see those wallets in the BTG's official website[1].

You need a BTG wallet to send your BTG to. I don't think they exist yet.

They're currently trading BTG in supporting exchanges but only within them. You can exchange to BTC now but the price is low in bitfinex (0.019) while at Yobit it's at 0.039. You can wait for Nov 1 for the launch and then see if interest on the coin rises or falls.

Bitfinex had like 130k BTC on its cold storage so price on it quite accurate.
I would not buy it higher  anywhere besides  finex price.

But you can sell them, far as i know bitfinex allows you to sell them or exchange them for ethereum and bitcoin, why dont you try to do it? It is a shame that you can not transfer it, i dont know why the fork has been released if there is not even a live blockchain to send and receive those coins.
Anyway, try to sell them, bitfinex is a good exchange for all kind of bitcoin and forks, but btg is very cheap in that site, below $120 i guess..

Thanks - lots of confusing information out there.

Probably a good buying opportunity? Would think that it becomes more valuable with the unfrozen market...

I have some BTG on Bitfinex but when I try to transfer it to another wallet, the withdraw screen returns an error. Am I not allowed to transfer it yet?

No of course not. The network isn't even available yet. What you currently have is an asset until the blockchain is created.

They claim that it'll be live after November 1 but there's no definite date yet.
