I now just use the Watchlist link. Easiest workaround.
Just quoting this:
This is really all there is to it:
I don't understand why anyone would not use the watchlist. You can configure the watchlist to be exactly the same as "show new replies to your posts" by configuring your posts to be auto-watched and adding your posted-in topics to your watchlist. After this is done, you can unwatch topics that you don't want to see.
Since I found this post from theymos, I stopped using "Show new replies to your posts.".

Alternatively, if you want to see the mentions to your name, you can use Piggy's notification bot (when it works Smiley ).
Piggy's bot is down for some time and I don't see it coming back any time soon.

People are now using this bot, which is current working: [TelegramBot] Merit watcher and Mention Notification Bot

Unfortunately, there is no possible way to have a thread removed from "Show new replies to your posts". I asked that question also in December last year (see this topic and the replies #9 - #18: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.53336527).

bitmover, for example, said that "Show new replies to your posts" is buggy. Others suggested to try to use "Watchlist". I did, but I couldn't get accommodated with it, thus I kept using "Show new replies to your posts".

For a time I thought I found a workaround, but, unfortunately, it didn't work (mentioned also in one of my replies of the above mentioned topic).

So it is as it as Smiley You can continue using this forum option or you can try also the "Watchlist". Alternatively, if you want to see the mentions to your name, you can use Piggy's notification bot (when it works Smiley ).

I hope this helps.

I once bet 100 Bitcoins on a 1:2 chance and lost.

I now just use the Watchlist link. Easiest workaround. Thank you for everybody's help.

The "hack" I've developed for no longer wanting to see certain threads is to open the thread, search for my name, and remove all my posts from it. Then it will no longer appear in "Show new replies...."

I gambled my way to 648 Bitcoins on a roulette site. Then I continued to play...
But I bought a now sold Canon supertele L lens for around 42 Bitcoins when I was still on the way up on former game. Bitcoin price was around $225-$250 at the time, early 2015. We children had been given 25K each by my father from his mothers heritage. I gambled away most of it in the mentioned game.

Damn, what a strange story. I hope you at least took some awesome pictures.

The good about the bad is that I then realised that I have an episodic gambling addiction. I lose money around 1-2 times a year, last time on the beginning of this January. I myself banned me in all Swiss gambling, but there is no way to get banned in crypto gambling...I keep count on my net losses (only what I have invested, not how high I got while playing), and since 2002 I lost 34.5K CHF (USD is around the same) net. I am prone to gambling, as I have a schizo-affective disorder. But I have been in treatment since 2006 and have a good quality of life, as I have little pressure and am on the manic side.

The lens was absolutely stellar, you could not buy a better lens for money. Was around $10K when I bought it. It was the Canon 400 2.8 IS Mark II.

"Unwatch" will only remove them from your watchlist, but I don't think there's any way to remove from "Show new replies to your posts."  As far as I know that list will continue to include every thread to which you've made a reply.

Does deleting the post itself from a thread will remove it from "Show new replies to your post"?  because in your last sentence it seems that as long as you have a reply on a thread the thread will continue to show on your "Show new replies to your post"?

Just as a side note: I rarely click on "Show new replies to your posts," and use the watchlist exclusively to follow threads I find interesting.

I have two threads I would like to unfollow, they should no longer show up in "Show new replies to your posts.". But neither "Unwatch", nor deleting them from the Watchlist works. What can I do?
Not sure as I don't have an issue if I check or uncheck the box in additional options it works.

Are the Notify me of replies box and the watch this topic box empty?

To check please hit the edit button on your post.\\then click the additional options to the lower left

you should see those options.
