I settle on the task, that is behind the ICO. It must be a task, that I can remain behind like medicinal services, social ventures or sunlight based power organization or new creative advancements. At that point I look to the ICO group and the ventures, that are furnished with the ICO.

Read the whitepaper and see if their project is viable. I also take a look at the credentials of their developers which are usually link to their linkedin account in the announcement. There are various sites that review the upcoming ICOs so it is a big help which one is to be trusted or not since I think they are expert in what they are doing especially those reputable ones. If the ICO is the pioneer in the industry to implement the project then that is a big plus for me. Partnerships with big companies is an attention grabber but I do my own research if what they claim is true or not.

With so many ICOs launching day to day, it is hard to choose which ones would be successful or not and even if it would be successful we don't know if the developers would be able to deliver what they promise or run away with our money. Maybe some regulation is needed to protect ourselves in the scams happening nowadays.

Of all the ICOs I've examined so far, the first thing I looked at was the feasibility, the second being the potential for growth, the third being competition. If an ICO is promising extraordinary gains, then it should have extraordinary evidence to back its claims up.

Word of advice: Do not invest in any ICO offering to beat BTC's price explosion, I suspect they will fail.

The first step I did was look at the purpose of the project, the vision and mission through the pages of your website. Then look at the profile of the team members. That was the last I would see whitepaper

Of course i read first their white paper if i see it is good project that is one good point for me, then i consider if the coins are can be mined or they have already a mining site because this is one think you will know if the coin is real or fake.

We all know that there are lots of fake/scam icos, and some people get angry because their investment was not return but this is their own fault they are too greedy to make income and they do not do any research for the ico they invested that is why i recommend to take a look if the ico has their own mining site then i say that is good to invest.

I have tried to buy some coins and token during ICo and I do buy into a project that is very promising and has a past history. Before investing into any project I do tried to find out if that project has been in existence, if it has not been in existence I will not invest into it. Another thing I do is that I will do research on those that are behind that project and finally, read they white paper.

There are many ICO and you have to be careful before investing your money in any of them.
Cryptocurrency world is in its first stages therefore it is normal to find many scams and unexperienced people trying to lead big projects.
I advise you to read carefully the whitepaper (many neglect this point), know more about team members behind the project and try to assess the feasibility of the project.
When you choose which ÌCO you will invest your money in, wait for sales, you can get good discount.
Why people neglect? When we do try to look and see how many ico as of now we would really put it on our minds that checking each of whitepaper would really takes time this is why most of us would really neglect on reading up those things which is one of the most important thing when we do decide to invest on project. One of the strongest thing i do rely on is on its developers because if once i do see that they are capable and experienced enough on such field high chances of that project will succeed or progress later on.

I look out reviews first from news organization sites and if their company does not exist there then I will not invest. I also like teams who held conferences that I can watch in youtube because that also affects me a lot to consider investing in them.

When investing on an ico first of all we should carefully read the white paper.. There you can understand whether the concept is useful or not. If concept is good , theres a high possibility of getting success. Then we should look into team, their previous projects and all.. When these information are good, there a high possibility of getting success.

Probably, the first thing that you need to check out is the credibility. The ICO that you chose should have been siccessful and working efficiently for quite some time. The next thing that you need to consider is the manager of that ICO, you should also check if the manager is well trusted and feedbacks to him or her are good. Lastly, you need to check the potential earnings of that ICO, whether it’s suffecient or not.

Many ICOs are being launched recently, many of them are just scams. If you want to invest in one of these ICOs you have to be sure it will succeed.
Read the white paper carefully, you will find helpful information there, you can also check team members by contacting them and talk with them to know if they are serious and they know what they are doing. Spend some time collecting information about the ICO from different sources before investing.

First, I check if it is legitimate by letting them send contracts. Second, I acquire referrals from other people to analyze where to invest.
This is one of good idea to know if ico is legit or they only wanting to scam investors, getting referral is one of the best way to know if the project has more supporters and has big possibity to be successful and then for sure you will gain good profit in ico.

Consider a reliable investment, the idea of the project must be sustainable and profitable for long term.
Don't just invest in a project to get coins and then just trade it after get listed on exchanges, most likely you won't get much profit.
Because most people who have bought this coin intended to sell it immediately as well.
But, for a long term project with an innovative ideas or product will give you good profits.

I stopped buying ICO - as the few I bought tanked as soon as they made it to an exchange.  I guess I am very poor at picking winners.

I learned You can not really go by the white papers - they are very vague on the acutual operation of the project.

I now wait for ICO to end and buy tokens from an exchange, when project is closer to actually having a working product.

I also prefer to watch interview videos on You-Tube or steam-it - easier to tell what the plan for the project really is.

I agree. It always like that. Whatever bonus or discount you get from buying early, you will still likely to lose. I'm not saying that ICO is bad but it's much better to buy it when it hit exchanges. Just after a week of getting listed, they just go down 50% to 90% and it happens too often.

The first thing I look for before investing in any ico is the technology, since the cryptoindustry is about advince technology I always look if there is a different in technology from what we currently have and if I  see that there is a different then I tick it as number one. I secondly look at the teams behind the project and the efficacy of  the developers to run this project with professionalism.

If they are transparent and answers everything I asked and replies quickly, I will be encouraged to invest on their ICO.

I hope you also read their whitepaper as most of the things are covered in that which can easily answer your basic queries and once you understand it and still have more doubts then asking them is the right option. I also do sometimes if unsure about some thing and once get satisfied with the answer then I look forward to that ICO.

I'm always reading the whitepaper regarding on where I would go or participate but sometimes those project who have good content on the whitepaper are scams or been dump badly thats why my thinking upon that one is not concede to the others though. And we must be careful on those ICO's eventhough there project idea is good since we might gonna scam by them if we will be fool to believe in there false promises.
This is why we should really be careful on selecting ICO.Our eyes and thoughts would really easily be deceived specially when we saw up a certain good whitepaper we do easily to believe that it might be a good project but in the end we do still lose up money. This is why if we do decide there should really be a corresponding action not only on relying on a single indication that we do normally seek.Good whitepaper comes to search for a developers experience and transparency would always comes next regarding in my own criteria.

Unless otherwise proven, any ICO should be considered as a scam, a pump and dump scheme.

Nonetheless there is very nice and serious good people out there, with good products.

Ask questions, verify, read as much as you can about the deal... if it is to good to be true, well... be carefull.

Not at all that going back on previous cases which a certain ICO gone scam they were active on the crowdfunding state which they do always actively answer communities question regarding on the project but yet later on they ended on scamming their investors which i would say this kind of indication isnt really reliable at all on deciding to invest on a certain ICO.Its not just enough. To lessen the risk better to search up things always like their whitepaper, roadmap, developer credibility and experience on this crypto field.

i am decide to invest in one ico after i read their whitepaper and know the details of their project so i can feel that i give to the right project and of course in future, i want my money back plus some nice profit. but todays, it is difficult to determine which ico that will be the next success ico because we can know only after the ico is release in the market and the ico can have good progress. and if everything is good then we can expecting to make nice profit from the ico.

I'll suggest investing in projects that have real world use cases. Many ICO projects are just fluffs. If a project brings a novel idea, it might be okay to invest in it, albeit with caution.
I also prefer investing in projects that have existed for some time and have a measure of success rather than startups that are still trying to get their feet wet.

In order to decide on which ico to invest in you need to do alot of background check. first on the management teams. secondly go through the whitepaper and see what exactly the project intend to work. dont be to enthuastic that you are going to make good profit from any ICO and be warned never invest more than what you can afford to loss. also you can check out maybe the project already have an established working project e.g wordcore, betstreak etc. and finally always follow them on all social site and ask questions when you have any

How to determine which ICO is a good investment? I usually look at the developers profiles. Only reputable developers is what i consider a good ICO to invest with my money.  There are so many ICO are just popping out of nowhere. We must choose the reputable people. Also i look at the whitepaper. Some whitepapers from other projects are just copy-pasted from other projects. I cosider them as a scam if i found out that they just copy the others whitepaper. Sometimes im looking for unique projects. Some ICOs i usually see are almost no differences.

There are a lot of ICOs happening around. What things do you check before investing priority-wise?

Look first at the team who will be handling the ICO, their past work or their history in handling an ICO. The transparency also will be the main factor if you want your investment to be in good hands. Look at the vision mission of the ico, the marketing strategy they will be using, their plans for the future update .

I look at the team. If they are transparent then that is a plus points for me. Revealing the people who are behind the project is already an indication that they are not hiding anything. Putting their name and reputation at stake in an ICO gives an impression that they will not mess up in their projects.

Yes every day lot of ICOs coming  in crypto world. but you have choose the right ICO if you want to invest there. First you choose the project, whitepaper  what they plan about there project.

You can see roadmap. whats there future plan . you must be see there team member and there admin team could they mange this project could the ability to control this project or scam.

You have to see is it real project and is it real platform project. you must be check  it . You can see how much supply of alt coin or Token and must see coin or token distribution type or process.

You can also see is it open source project then you can see there script of github. then you can see marketing plan then which exchange platform accept this coin or token.

After that You can find load type option to fined right ICOs. So Find it and invest.

Thank you

I look for:
- Whitepaper
- who is there advisors? are they well known crypto people?
-is the team publically identifying themselves?
-do they already have a viable product and ideally already making a profit

An example of this for me is Giga-Watts, existing business, clear business plan.

Set about selecting the ICO with careful analysis. Take a good look at the website to determine that there is something solid and steady about the idea, except for catchy promises. You should trust in your own decision. There is so much scam these days that it is of utmost importance to be able to distinguish what is really worthwhile

I evaluate the overall value of particular ICO by stage of development and try to select ICOs which are backed up by at least something in addition to promises

If you invest in a different I see Ico at the price starts to drop after a Time you are less likely to get actively involved when you don't care about the coin the coin for the Ico is something that you feel strongly about.

The good strategy on ICO's is to buy when the coin has been dumped by bounty hunters since you can expect that the price would go down hardly enough. And this time its better to accumulate more cheap coins and sold it when the time pumps. But we should be careful enough upon selecting those ICO coins since some of them are so shit that no future to be lift up by its own dev.
This is the risk and it would really depend on you if you would able to take that or not. As being said the best time to buy coins is that after the bounty hunters have dumped their coins that they gain on the campaign.
Theres only two ways either those coins would pump again back to its ico price or higher or would dump hard as low as it can. We wont really know if a project and dev behind it would have the plan to step up his own project or not.

Find something you're interested in, find something you believe in, or find something that you feel strongly about. This gives you the edge that you are in there you're interested in your actively doing things with your Investments.

Team and traction of the team and their projects. Good projects doesn't come out of nowhere. If team members value their reputation it means the project is here to stay and is good for the long term investment.
Yes reputation is one the main to trust them that i think it can be stay for long but if you are seen a newbie posting a project ICO i think we will not trust them because we dont have any reason to trust them their words unless if they can escrow their bitcoin funds in escrow.. we can trust them but mostly ICO are just giving info and announcement and giving bounties that is why they can be easily promote buy people who wants to receive the coin for free..
For me much better to invest which is live for a long time in the market or even the top 20 altcoin in coin market cap are much better to invest even the movement of the price is not fast you can be still make a profit..

It doesn't really matter who's posting for ICO as advanced accounts can be easily bought. There are many projects out there that have established verifiable traction. Nevertheless ICO it's risky investment in any case, even not involving cases if fraud. It's always better to invest in something that lies within ones area of expertise.

But sometimes Reputable guys posted the ICO ann thread can really be big impact to the ICO eventhough they will turn as shit for long time running, but to avoid losses on the ICO scam coins we should try to be more carefull and try to dump it whenever the price would came to its ICO price since actually we earn from it for the bunos they've given for early bird bunoses.

I follow a 3 pointer rule which is very useful in understanding of the project and its future prospects.

- Whitepaper. Its a must to read before investing in any ICO
- Team & its core management group
- Different types of campaign involved and its payment to the respective users on time

One of the good indicators - successful pre-ico. Also I look at website: who standing behind the company, if there are photos aff all members with description - this is also good sign.
One of new thing - if company participating in Wings.
Also look at bounty company, at agiotage around bounty and ico.

If I am looking for a long term investment

First thing I look is the idea, then team

If I am looking for a short term investment, first team then idea but I don't mean that one of these is not important, both team and idea are very important.

I decide on the project, that is behind the ICO. It must be a project, that I can stand behind like health care, social projects or solar power company or new innovative developments. Then I look to the ICO team and the investments, that are provided with the ICO.

Innovative development as you said has been used by those ICO runners just to make their project looks legit but I am the looking for ICO I make sure that theirs product involve in their project so that they will have backup plan for their floating coin when it added on exchange. try to look those beautiful ICO project before they have dead right now and try to look those casino sites who run an ICO they had been successfull already for their long time running here.

There are a lot of ICOs happening around. What things do you check before investing priority-wise?

Before I go Invest on some altcoins their I really make sure that the coin I've watching in is having a good media partners so that they can get more attention for their projects and secondly I read their whitepaper on what would be the project going after the ICO will get success and last I make sure that the project have some escrow so that if theirs bad things happen to the project the escrow will give back the funds since devs doesn't deliver well to their product.

Only ICOs with trusted escrow are good enough to invest. Everything else could be an easy scam.

Well for me when choosing an ICO i still just checking first the promotion roadmap background how owners trusted.
And 2/10 only are legit ICO that i think can stay long in the market and gives you profit that is why other recommend to invest already in the top 20 rankings in coinmarketcap.. Because its really hard to know if what are ICO are giving you a good profit most of scam coin can be look like a legit coin..
So for me better to invest in the top 20 altcoin instead of ICO but you can be still invest it will be still depends in your own way how to know the legit one ..

Same philosophy applies when looking at start ups and companies that you'd invest in in general minus the start-up aspects. You're putting your time and money with the hope of a return and the people backing the company / coin and what it's all about must have it's place and have potential. There's so many different aspects to take into account and it's easy to overlook details. My best advice would be to be thorough and take your time before diving into pre-sales.

ICO = Good -> Invest
ICO = Bad -> Give Negative Feedback

my ICO investment is based on their white paper . although there are so many sugar coated ICO proposals but most of all just the best of luck , there are no certainties of how legit is the ICO will be all we gonna do is just cross our fingers that the ICO we have invested would launch smoothly . ICO is synonymous to betting.

DMD Diamond Making Money 4+ years! Join us!
That s a good question. So many ICOs getting out recently and even more will get out in the future.

I personally stick to those which caught my attention long time ago and do not speculate on 10 different projects. That s a way to lose your money 100% cause you simply cannot follow development of so many projects. When you find something interesting, read their whitepaper, visit their slack/forum and ask around. Good luck.

The first thing I check is the write paper and evaluate what the startup try to accomplish. Also, I evaluate the team and the most important I need to believe in the project.

By reading its whitepaper you can actually determine on how things would provably goes for a coin and so by this you can tell easily if this coin was been made as shitty as you imagine, But I rarely unto altcoin scene since I think majority of them are made just to scam those ICO investor and this matter should be one of the best basis for us to tell and avoid on those ICO. be vigilant always guys since even they've write some good words on their whitepaper still we cannot actually tell if they are scam on this matter.

There are a lot of ICOs happening around. What things do you check before investing priority-wise?

For me Im reading its whitepaper if this coin have a nice plan in future but by reading this doesn't guarantee that we can earn from it since their are certain ICO's who have great intention but been dump by certain hype.

and one piece go invest on ICO's if they had bunos upon their early stage so that you can accumulate more numbers of coins rather than investing on its late early stage while you only get what you buy for that time and also don't hold it for to long since mostly of ICO are being dump and killer by its own devs.
That is why you should really be smart on joining ICO's and most of them do really dump after the launch that's why be aware and attentive enough to sell off the coins you have bought.Bonus coins is really a plus and one thing I do consider when I'm joining. Whitepaper is always there and I do also check its roadmap and the transparency of their devs so that I can somehow avoid ICO scams.

Just to clarify, these are not investments. They are pure gambles, virtually 100% luck based. Which is fine, but I think the point is that there isn't anything you can check or do to ensure profitability, unlike actual investments.

i decide when i see the potential on it, and when the ico is new in the market, many people will invest on it for short trade trading, when they buy coins they will sell it fast, buy coins with high reviews or feedbacks on forum or in any other place, you need to research for it first too before investing to avoid any money to be lose.

Something you believe in. Don't invest in an ICO with the simple aim of getting rich quick. Half the ICOs are for random alts that don't offer anything innovative. Invest in something you believe in. If it's innovative and brings something new to the table then others will buy into it to.
