1) What sources do you mean? Forums, freelance communities or company sites?
2) I usually do that, but sometimes you did not have such a project beforehand or had it under different circumstances.

I see what you wrote as a throughoutly designed estimation method. I think, it could look well even in a documentation. Do you have a formal calculation method for that, a formula for example, or is it still informal?

You should really estimate based on your past projects.

I mean, you could ask people who have done it before but it would be better to have some experience of your own with it.

I sometime work as freelancer to develop backend of webpages with php and mysql and to estimate price, i ask some time from client to look at whole project in detail so that i could list out what need to be done and how it will be done. If project have high Difficulty like many functions to be added, many hours of my time it will take as well as if there are things/codes that i haven't implemented/used before i will ask for higher payrate as well as really long period to deliver project.

But keep in mind don't accept any work without agreeing completely upon what is needed by client and payment he will make, also try to estimate time it will need accurately.

When a client seeks you with an offer and asks how much it will cost, take in time ... etc how do you estimate these parameters of your project?

Do you use any decomposition (if yes, what is your technique?) or do you estimate by your past experience? Do you use a standard technique by any chance like LOC oriented?
