What exactly is bounty whoring?
Sig Campaigns on behalf of ICOs is bounty whoring. Individuals are rewarded with stakes in a given project for making posts while wearing the corresponding signature. For example I am bounty whoring on behalf of matchpool cuz I like the project and in exchange for advertising for them I get some extra tokens from their upcoming crowdsale.
The concern many people have is that many bounty whores tend to dump whatever token they recieve for bitcoin almost immediately upon receipt of the token and in no way support the projects for which they are advertising. Also having minimum post requirements can also lead to spammy meaningless posts just to fill quotas. Legitimate complaints, indeed.
What exactly is bounty whoring?
Is it the worst thing ever and ICOs are all total scams? Just another way to earn a buck? The bane of your existence? What?
The way I see it, its just advertising not good or bad. And if I can earn a little extra value for something I was going to do anyway well then I will be making use of what space I have for advertising.
