I think, november will have a positive effect on bitcoin value. Because as it has happened before, bitcoin has a significant spike.

Even during the past splitting majority of the users were speculating that the price will lower, but the reality took place in the opposite manner with the price drop taking place to smaller extent and then suddenly the pumping took place taking it as high as $4900+, maybe the same situation happens with the upcoming November splitting.

Hard fork expecting to hit only on ETH not for bitcoin this time. If network blocks has been splited then transaction fees will be reduced and blocks to get confirmed the each transaction will be increase. If you see about the bitcoin's price value, it will definitely increase to next peak value.

there is no November split, stop spreading FUD.

there is talk of a hard fork to increase the block size to 2 MB. it may or may not happen. currently more than 95% of the miners are signalling for SegWit2x or NYA, which means if it happens there may not even be a split! unless these 95% change their mind.

Also, do you guys think BTC Cash is a good long term investment? Seeing rises of around 25% in just 2 days, quite impressive.

no it is not a good "long" term investment. but it can have a very good potential IF things get out of hand before this upcoming S2X drama. they can potentially take advantage and pump BCH, which means a good profit in a short time and then followed by dump.
Its impossible already for those 95% to change their minds. There would really be no split on this upcoming november.I dont know why people do really believe on this false information on this upcoming november event.
If there would be again a split then its expected price would really be affected and even on this upcoming event it would surely affect it too so we should really watch out for opportunities to make money.

I think that the forks will only show that Bitcoin can survive anything.
Having my own keys in hand I don't care ... more splits = more cash.

Splits do make Bitcoin more problematic. It's like being in a maze not knowing what is what and which to follow.

Splits/forks should be kept to an absolute minimum to protect the image of Bitcoin and make it easier on people.

I get the feeling that some people are going to try and create splits so they can sell the split and buy back bitcoin for it.
This is just like the shitcoin pump&dump get-rich schemes.

Your comparison is not really helpful, because this time the majority of miners actually support the hard fork (or at least
signal that they support it). In the case of Bitcoin Cash that was not at all the case and the big mining pools only mined it
after gaming the emergency difficult adjustment.

In my opinion the big exchanges will be the deciding factor in terms of which chain will become the main BTC blockchain.
This is caused by their control over the desired BTC ticker symbol.

Hi, just wondering what you guys think the november split will do to the price of BTC Core? If it's going to rise I'm going to buy in again (already own 0.933 BTC) and if not then I'll sell before long once I'm breaking even (if it gets to that point) and buy back in at the dip. Also, do you guys think BTC Cash is a good long term investment? Seeing rises of around 25% in just 2 days, quite impressive.

The November split is not a done deal. Lot of parties are withdrawing from the New York agreement. In the end, we might see thethe2x portion of segwit2x dropped altogether. November could then pass very quietly.

Lot's of big BTC experts around but nobody tried to reply the first and simple question of this guy. Rather than criticizing him for wrong nomenclatures why don't you guys answer the clearly understandable question he asked?

So, let's try:

I think the price will be 2.5-2.8k between October 31 and November 6. This correction will be the last one in this year. After that It will reach 10.000 before 2018 july.

I think it will have the same effect as August 1.  Bitcoin a bit experiencing some dip then will skyrocket after the confusion is gone and eventually setting series of ATH.  This update is one of the preparation in solving Bitcoin scaling problem that had been a problem for several years.  I believe this upgrade will boost bitcoin price even though a split will happen.  In case of split, people who have high amount of bitcoin will definitely have a profit.  Reminds me that the current FUD is about accumulating cheap Bitcoin in preparation for the upcoming split.  More Bitcoin means more forked coin,  More forked coin means more to sell and more profit.

Of course, later in november will have an impact on bitcoin. As happened before. I hope positive effect that push bitcoin higher, because split that happen will increasingly attract interest of people in headline about bitcoin in various media.
There is a big impact on the november split issue its price will downtrend. But as like before happens it will soaring high. Yes it will attract more users that may interests to people to invest in bitcoin.
No the price of could be increase more since this is another big event just like before bitcoin will increase more after august 1
So this event will be the price can be burst increase fast again,.. It will be a big impact since its november and nearly december just like what happen from past few years that bitcoin price was increase every november and december..

Just checked back on this thread, wanted to apologise for my use of the term "BTC Core", I meant Bitcoin, the original that we are all familiar with. I am still fairly new to this and wanted to make the distinction between BTC and BCH, I don't see the need for accusations of me misleading people, I have no reason to do that. If anything that would cause uncertainty and cause the price to drop which makes no sense for me as I am already invested in BTC at 4.6k? Why would I want the price to fall (in the short term anyway). Anyhow, my apologies for the mistake. Appreciate the feedback about the November segwit/fork event and to clarify, I am not trying to mislead. Most news sources, people on here and others are referring to the November events to come as a fork, hence why I referred to it the way I did.

I think it will really affect he price as it is a new big event for the bitcoin community once again, we all know how the event of august 1 really affects the price of bitcoin that month and it will again as many news will come out and many people rely on it.

Just keep on believe that bitcoin will go up in price no matter what even if it really split that maybe resulted to fall down in price, it will bounce back again just what it always did.

Ofcourse Bitcoin is a good investment whether its for a long term investment. Bitcoin will surely be on a rampage, again. It's demand will then again insanely increase that will highly affect its demand like what happened in the recent hardfork last month of August. As of this moment, Bitcoin value is already increasing as days approach the fork in the month of November.

price of BTC Core?
what the hell is BTC core?!!

Bitcoin Core is a reference client of bitcoin. Initially, the software was published by Satoshi Nakamoto under the name Bitcoin, then Bitcoin-Qt and later renamed

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitcoin_Core

---

I don't think that it would affect bitcoin it will still remain unfazed.

Are you kidding me?
You either don't understand the implications here or are just spreading BS to keep the price this high.

If 90% of the miners stop mining Bitcoin and start mining Bitcoin2x, the Bitcoin network effectively comes to a complete halt.
The new SW2x blocks mined by these miners will be incompatible with 95% of all clients.
Users will be forced to switch to the Bitcoin2x software and chain in order to retain any of the value of their holdings.
Congratulations, a hand full of people in a conference room successfully completely hijacked the Bitcoin project and took over total control.

Yes, nothing to worry about...  Undecided

The ignorance on this forum is sometimes mind blowing.

what the hell is BTC core?!! are you coming up with weird names yourself or is there some propaganda somewhere that you either fell for it or are a part of it? which one is it?

it is called bitcoin and it has always been bitcoin and it will always be bitcoin. anything else other than bitcoin is an altcoin.

Umm.. Have you seen the latest bitcoin qt wallet? When it loads up it says "Bitcoin Core" proudly before it opens.

have you seen latest version of Armory? when it loads up it says "Bitcoin Armory" proudly before it opens.
have you seen Bitcoin Knots? when it loads up it says "Bitcoin Knots" proudly before it opens.
have you seen Electrum? when it loads up it says "Electrum" proudly before it opens.
have you seen Blockchain.info? when it loads up it says "Blockchain.info" proudly right on top.
have you seen Multibit? when it loads up it says "Multibit" proudly on top of it.
have you seen Trezor? when it loads up it says "Trezor" proudly on it.
have you seen Coinbase? when it loads up it says "Coinbase" proudly on each page of it.
have you seen bitaddress.org (paper wallet)? when it loads up it says "bitaddress.org " proudly on top of the page.

I can name more and post screenshots of each of these. do you think we should call bitcoin, BTC Electrum? BTC Armory? or maybe BTC Blockchain.info?

Bitcoin Core is the Client you install! It isn't called qt anymore since a while!

Yeah but come on... I guess we all knew what he meant. I just don't see why people are so angry at each other in this forum. Man, you should see the Turkish side as well.. There is always a quarrel, it drives me crazy Smiley

No the Coin itself and the Blockchain is called Bitcoin!! Core is just a loose pool of hundreds of developers who working and updating the reference client, called Bitcoin Core, on a constant basis.
Its pretty simple. Anything else is either an attempt of purposely misleading or just unconsciousness.

i think the incoming split this coming november will going to affect the btc price since there's a lot of new users that didn't know what's happening on bitcoin only they care about their bitcoins. panic selling mostly will happen since they'll going to heard the incoming split. after that bitcoin will pump again just like what happened a few weeks ago.

As before there is likely to be fear and uncertainty and doubt leading up to and after and it may be worse as this time instead of having coins on both chains (unless a decent level of replay protection is integrated) you may only end up with coins on one chain, and the miners and some major service providers (bitpay I'm looking at you) appear to be choosing to follow the coin which is not supported by the "core" developers.

Is the BCH really a real deal? cause i though it was on august 21 but i guess another split is another breakthrough for investors. Well if miners are the issue on the spliting of the core? then i support if there is another dispute then is another split?. And i can see that every split on btc has always a high price compaired to other altcoins.

I'm sure it will affect the price. How long will a fever the market is another question. But the fact that whales will try to shake the panic and make money out of it once again, I have no doubt. I was already used to it, but I think that such situation is not exactly going to benefit bitcoin.

You can sell into a particular point maybe on $5k price or lower than that because i do believe it would reach up that range while we are going to november event. If it hits then try to keep those bitcoin you have because im sure that the thing that do happen on previous august 1 event will surely happen on this upcoming november too which we can buyback on more cheaper prices because after that price will surely shoot up again.

What are you doing  here is totally wrong and misleading. And I think you're doing this on purpose!
There is no Bitcoin Core. This is Bitcoin! Pretty simple and easy to understand. Bitcoin! Every other fork we had so far and we will see in the future will be an altcoin without consensus by the whole community, which includes USERS!!!

Just to make it clear for you:
Bcash = Bitcoin Cash = ALTCOIN!
B2x = Bitcoin 2x = ALTCOIN!
Bgold/BTCGPU = Bitcoin Gold = ALTCOIN!
BTCD = BitcoinDark = ALTCOIN!
XBC = Bitcoin Plus = ALTCOIN!
Bitcoin Lite = ALTCOIN!

So therefore nothing of any importace or significance is going to happen in november. Some FUD will be spread by the NYA guys to drop the market, as usual. Veterans got used to it and know how to take advantage of such situations.
You will get free coins, can dump that crap for Bitcoin and that's it. Also I doubt the Bitcoin Gold (BGold/BTCGPU) hardfork will steal some attention from the B2x guys. So you will get free money twice!!! Bitcoin holders will be thankful for that. And the Bitcoin network will become even more stronger and resilient.

But how does the majority in the community think about Segwit2x? If it does cause another split then I believe it could impact the price negatively. We cannot have 3 Bitcoins in the market, it is stating to look ridiculous.

Why not make their own altcoin if they are not happy.

altcoins are never good long term investments. they never survive the passage of time. look at some charts over the 1+ years period and you can see how the "rises" which are in fact pumps only go on for a short time.

now compare those charts with bitcoin chart over 1+ years. you can see the overall rise is pretty obvious on the charts despite all the ups and downs in short term.

What happened with bitcoin core price after the bitcoin unlimited and bitcoin cash forks?Nothing.
It increased.I think it will increase again after another hard fork.
The bitcoin cash supply is very limited, but the BCH market is very small.A small change in BCH demand would lead to big change in BCH price. This is an obvious pump&dump, and maybe BCH miners are manipulating the price.

There is no perfect cryptocurrency and Bitcoin also falls into this category even if its the first and the original one with much better chance to make it to the mainstream. Bitcoin's value is always affecting by the mood of the market and this coming November there can be some downturn as fear and apprehensions might return due to the possible hard fork. However, it might not be as intense as what happened prior to the August 1 fork. People this time can be looking forward for the opportunity to be given new and free altcoin.

As to BCH, yes I see that it can be a very good altcoin and there is a possibility for that to increase in value as November can be near due to possibility of it being highlighted as the number alternative to Bitcoin. As always, invest your eggs in many baskets to minimize the risks.
