Put 90% in cold storage, trade with the remaining 10%. If you do bad and lose coins, you still have at least 90% of your coins. Cheesy

Why are you ruling out putting it all in cold storage?
It's greed I guess. I want to increase my BTC stash. I don't consider myself a good trader, but I can't help but see trading opportunities, which have yielded a little over 1 XBT so far, and it's fun too.

But yeah, past performance says nothing of future results.

1. I stopped chasing charts, i don't day trade, i think long term / fundamentals based investment.
2. Patience is key, i wait for large Dips before buying (seems to work amazingly well in bitcoin and altcoin markets)
2. Don't throw all your cash all at once, divide your investments that way you have a breather and don't panic
3. Buy, hold , profit take when necessary just hold as long as you feel comfortable.
5. Keep some cash always ready on an exchange, that way you don't miss opportunities waiting for 5 day USD transfers.

Why are you ruling out putting it all in cold storage? That's exactly what I would recommend.

To manage fear and greed, I go into trades with a plan. As far as what ratio of BTC/USD I hold at any given time, it depends on what the market is doing.

Otherwise, I just go with the flow...I like the excitement of trading. *shrug*

I've never traded before, but this roller coaster is probably unhealthy for many of us.

Besides putting all your XBT in cold storage, what's your strategy regarding quality of life vs good trading decisions? For example, what ratio fiat/XBT do you see as good for your health?
