Aside from the various enabling tools around and even from the exchange sites itself, I have the flair to keep few coins rather than having more than enough or just jumping on anyone I lay my hands on.

With the few stock of coins in my port-folio, it gives me the opportunity to even track them in the few exchange sites I am operating in their cyber space. I go in, make some trades, open up on some preferred orders and exit to focus on something else. When the level is reached, the sale is made so I dont really need to bother myself.

On the other hand, if it seems the market is not going towards that direction, I exit and make a fresh order. Its as simple as that.

i am not using any document and i think its enough if i only use the history from poloniex and bittrex because i am not too often track my wins or losses. but if i really want to then i can open my history buying and selling and see how much i made. tracking our wins/losses is good because we can know how good we make profit or loss and beside that we can learn many thing from our history trading.
Well to keep track of my winnings or losses I have made a document file to keep records. Another thing I do is that I have prepared an excel sheet which have all the required information I need record of my winnings and losses, profits and total investments I have made or planning to make in future. And notes how to overcome my losses.
To keep the track of my winnings and loses I have made a google chart to remember the decisions I have taken while making that deal and to analyze what mistakes I have done in the past. This all give me strength to overcome mistakes while losses and encouragement over the winnings while trading bitcoins.

it seems like the way you do is also good. I usually monitor my advantages and disadvantages by taking notes on paper making it easier for me to view my trading history on a daily basis.

Indeed! Excel sheets help a lot in maintaining records. I am happy to sue them because there are many formulas applicable in excel sheets that can help you calculate losses and profits within seconds. I do appreciate keeping backups of this file in case of any damage to file may not result in loss of data.

Yes This is how I think about it too. There is no need to keep any documents of trade. When all such facilities are available on the exchange where you trade, they record your each and every transaction which is saved in your history. It seems to me like just wasting my time when I do it manually while I can get my trading history with a single click.
The only chance where someone is using multiple exchanges for trading with a huge portfolio then if you want analysis of your trade in a single sheet then it makes sense otherwise it is purely wasting time and nothing else.

While trading? I don't really use anything personally. I start with a specific amount and I end up with a different amount, If its bigger then I actually did good otherwise I didn't and in addition to that, I just watch the price when It rise because the point from trading is to simply buy low and sell high, now If you are talking about gambling that I see no use for a spreadsheet as the sites actually have logs and they should be visible in your profile regardless of the site you are site.

For tracking the wins and losses of trading business,i use spreadsheet and also a notebook for handwritten notes.  Smiley Wink It's just my style of maintaining records. Now you may ask why you need two records, that is because in handwritten journal i actually maintain all the trade details right from date of the trade, trade number, cryptocurrency name, timing, reason for taking entry and exit, buy setup, exit setup,risk/reward ratio, target, stop loss, trailing stop loss, etc. But in spreadsheet  i enter all those things along with the SNAPSHOT of that particular trade . I have been told from my mentor that many professional trader like Dr k Van Tharp,Mark Douglas  Shocked  even today they maintain a journal along with the PICTURES of those trade so that they remember that trade for a long period of time and its easy for them to maintain their loss and wins trade details.I recommend you also to follow this rule. Cool

I really don't engage in a lot of coins at the same time, so its pretty much easy for me to track them as I can by default know the amount I bought, the current price, and what price I intend to sell. For someone dealing in large stocks of coin would need a tool to make that possible.

This is a very smart approach though. But you can use some other means to keep track of these things. This is something which depends entirely on what sort of business you have. If you have a small business, then you can manage it possibly but for a large business it might not be possible.

All time favorite excel sheets are doing best job for me as well. Since I have not much diversified portfolio, it is okay for me to keep all record in excel. Furthermore I can easily calculate my earnings and formulas by using simple formulas. Yep! For large businesses, you need proper software.

if trading is better to use the blockfolio in google playstore the more features of the apps .. just read the playstore or download it as you expect that apps. If you're using a gambling calculator you can easily compete with your losses and win but you can not order them to stop gambling. In the gamble when you win you do not stop losing you more and more stops until your capital is not exhausted.

What business are you talking about anyway? He's using an excel sheet to keep track of his wins and losses in trading so how is business related to that?

do you own an exchange or what? lol. back to the question, i don't use any recording medium to keep track but instead i just use my trades history on my

account although its good to make sure the exhange isn't cheating or something. but on the other hand i have some sketches of my strategies and yeah i

usually spend a few hours on it.

I initially had control in my brain but when I started to increase operations it became necessary to create a spreadsheet with different options to be able to control both gains, losses and amounts to invest.

everyone can generate their own spreadsheet with the options you need, if they want help I gladly help them.

I do not think you need to do a spreadsheet. A trader can do just about anything with his brain, learn how to memorize things, they will connect, and you will get the information you need.

Spreadsheet for sure, I tried using Blockfolio, but the gains/losses never added up correctly.

For those not tracking your trades and profits/losses, what do you do for taxes?! If paying any? I have a buddy whose accountant requires him to note every single trade he does.
Taxes part is also kind of unclear to me, but more interested in how the gains/losses didn't add up. Can you elaborate a bit on that? I'm using blockfolio as well, but didn't see anything wrong with the calculations yet.

Well you have patience dude to track it down out of the exchange where you're trading. I keep track of my wins or losses by having a record on my notepad which consists of the date of the trade and the profit or loss that i got from that trade and because of that i can know if my trades are good for this month or not and if not i will study my previous trades to know the problem and correct it and become a better trader.

Keeping track of wins/losses has been made simple with lots of applications. As most users suggested using of spreadsheets is also an better way to keep track of the entire history of wins and losses. You are using best way , Spreadsheet is the best way to track the win and loss , I am using simple notepad to trax my win and Loss.
Or search for profito at google or Play Store you will find some good info there we can track our purchases and Output there
Notepad is pretty okay but again the best option is spreadsheet. Spreadsheet provides all those formulas and other services of calculations and manages your data in the most efficient way. I am myself maintaining my all record on spreadsheet and keeping on copy in my Google drive.

That's working pretty effective. I have put it on a txt file  before then finds it hassle ,since it can't be put on a 1 page and hards to format it. Unlike in spreadsheets we can do our own format.

They have the remaining BTC, but they also have the amount they invested for their clients that want to leave a principal and various other coins. So, take the amount of Bitcoins that they are short at the end of the day reverse figure in there commissions and the total value of their clients portfolios from that day and you should find yourself with a pretty easy to figure trading number.

Well, we have the perspective of both and individual traitor and a business that does investment for their clients. As an individual, I'm pretty much never in the day with anything other than Bitcoin, maybe doge or some strong coin like that, but almost always I add with Bitcoin. There may be some losses that take place during the time period while I'm sleep, but I am not comfortable investing in any coin other than a handful and leaving it there without me seeing it.

So that makes it really easy to see where the p&l is at the end of the day, if I start off with one Bitcoin and after all the trading I end up with 1.5 then I can't went 5 otherwise if I end up with just point five that I lost. That is basically the same thing that we force our investment employees to deal with. Depending on how long the been with the company and a variety of other criteria, when they walk in the office, they have a Bitcoin wallet loaded with X number of BTC, they use that as they're trading power throughout the day and at the end of the day they actually have two numbers.

Nothing lasts forever
I trade on bittrex and i dont really use anything to monitor my profits and losses Tongue Whenever i want to see how much i have made i just go to the history and check at what price i have bought the coin and at what price i had sold it. I check out the difference for all the coins and see how much i make out of each coin which gives me an opinion whether to invest in that particular coin or not and how much to invest in it . As long as we know that we are selling it at a higher price there is nothing to worry about.
I get tensed only when i have to sell it a lower price which gives me goosebumps while calculating the loss  Grin

You probably are the kond of person who wants things organized, neat and tidy. For me, i don't usually have much time arranging ledgers and spreadsheets. I seldom even look into an app i downloaded for this specific purpose. I just check real quick the history of my trades through the exchange site itself where i'm trading

Daheq? i think its just a heartache if you are keeping track of wins or losses. And honestly its just too tiresome to keep a record on it specially if with just small amounts. Because sometimes you are just aware on your winnings and losses. Especially for the big bets. But if people are comfortable with keeping track then its ok. I would keep track on my spendings on bills from the house and tuition fees i have spent but i see gambling as an entertainment only so i guess i dont bother to keep track of it.

I think you should track your winnings or loses brother so you can know what and where is your weakness and strength. So in time you will not make mistakes or at least you can lessen it. This is a good habit of a trader.
Well as for me, I use spreadsheet to track mine and I think it works for me ever since. Also blockfolio is good to track how the coins is behaving in the market.

When the day finishes, i update my spreadsheet with my results; win/loses of the day, i dont put all my transactions because that make it confusing, just the profits.

since i did trading until now it does not cross in my mind that to use tools to keep track my win or my losses in trading and for me in trading i have simple mind that as long as my capital amount of money still not less which mean i didn't suffered huge losses

This is also one of the way just to see that 1000$ you invested in business and at the end of day or month if you have more than 1000$ its profit or else you have incurred loss. But sometimes keeping it in excel or an app is also good so that you know the buy price and if the market has move and its some 50% say for example moved then you would like to sell it and not hold further because what you had thought its being achieved rather than become more greedy to hold and than the crash may happen.

If you are talking about keeping trade records then I am using Cryptocompare's portfolio option. Currently, they have some good features including tracking Bitcoin and even altcoin investments. Even though they are going to charge for some of their features in next non-beta versions, they will keep the basic tracking for free. There is no Android app for their service but I am using their website on the mobile browser without any layout issues.

CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post!
Most exchanges will allow you to view your trade history so you only have to check to review your previous trades, profits and losses. There are also helpful apps that you can download but i prefer just checking history.

I personally use a spreadsheet but I'm sure there are better way to do it.

Do you know any good websites/apps to do it?
I never use any of tools or spreadsheet to track my trading result. The most important for me is, i sell the coin higher than when i have bought it. I am a long-term holder, that's why i don't need any to keep the track.

No way, I'm not that organised guy who will keep the track of everything all the the time. I usually write down stuff in my diary whenever I remember a trade which I have done earlier. :-) It works for me because I'm used to it now and don't have time to prepare an excel really. Anyway I don't know any website or app which looks after our trading progress. To be honest you can just check two to three times how your trades are doing, in the process you will also find how other coins are doing. This is just my way, I know very lazy one. :-)

While trading? I don't really use anything personally. I start with a specific amount and I end up with a different amount, If its bigger then I actually did good otherwise I didn't and in addition to that, I just watch the price when It rise because the point from trading is to simply buy low and sell high, now If you are talking about gambling that I see no use for a spreadsheet as the sites actually have logs and they should be visible in your profile regardless of the site you are site.
yes i agree talking about trading is the great investment but you need to be carefull for your decision to prevent losses in trading, need to be an active monitoring of your investment for the movement of the value and the timing for the hi low buy and sell.

I think you not needed a spreadsheet or anything else because in trading yes we make profit and losses but it is more on winning or profit if you use to trade well or lets we say that you have a good skills in trading we doesn't need it anymore it will just ruin your trade by being greedy if you lose more than profit in some circumstances.

I haven't think about it by yes for starters a spreadsheet would be a good thing to used for tracking your win/loss record. However, right now I haven't used any because I don't take profit but instead try to roll my money on investing or just simple don't trade if I don't feel like to. But its a good thing that you brought this idea. I don't know if there is a software out there that can you get to automatically jot this information for you. If there is one, it would be a great tool for us traders.
Its good but as long as you enjoying trade you will won't recognize it and all you wanted is to trade. Honestly i don't use any to record i knkw what amounts i lost not all but i can compute the nearest amount and i just based on my buying and selling history per coins. actually for all exchange i registered i have more than 100 coins so how is it and it will be a time consuming if i will record it all.p

There's an app to calculate your wins/loss, I've installed this app, called 'coin portfolio'.
You can check the thread here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/coin-portfolio-app-for-android-ios-track-your-current-value-2060538
But, current Os that supported is Android and iOS version will be created as well.
Well, it's better than just write it on spreadsheet as there are several coins listed in the app.

Faster write down on a sheet of paper. Then it's easier to browse. I write down the results of each day in the Excel.
