I monitor the channel of project telegrams and twitter. This is the minimum set that is enough to get the latest information about the project. Also, I sometimes look for information about the project on other resources. This allows you to get more complete information about the project.
The opinion of well-deserved experts in the field of crypto currencies about the project is very valuable, because experts are fighting for their reputation. For me, such opinions are very important when deciding whether to invest in a project. But it is not enough to rely solely on the opinions of experts, your own analysis of the project is just as necessary.

I just voted, and recommend to others to use this site: altpocket.io - you can track there your investments, simply you add there all of your altcoins and bitcoins and you will always know your portfolio´s value.
I am not going to vote for any coin now. If they really have the potential then they could do without votes.

My first monitoring tool is Cmc. In as much the coin has been listed there, I see it as an extra boost for the coin to thrive. I also use people's discussions on the thread, telegram and other social media affiliated platform to monitor.

I see information on the Coinmarketcap market and join the community for more information on the coin I am investing. In the community you can get more information on the market, so it will help you to predict the development trend of coin you are holding.

I initially look at the white paper of the project, then the team in the social media and their previous experience, then the listing and how much money was invested on pre sale and main sale Smiley

Of course you need to follow the social media accounts of these coins you are invested in,or if we are talking about ICOs,you need to follow then thru social media and thru their website so that you wont be tlate to any of their updates? because fundamentals might trigger the coin to pump and you wont be late if that happens.

I mostly follow the teams updates on telegram/twitter and reddit. Most of the projects I've invested in also post development updates on Medium and those give a good overview of the state of progress.

This is a good way of monitoring ICO projects that you invested in. In addition to this, it is better also that you have a good communication to all the team members most especially to the community and bounty managers. Because these people are the most important characters to deal with to be more updated always about the projects that we campaigning for. And do more research also to goggle or other social media websites to follow the real activities of your invested ICO projects if it is legit in condition and keeps on progressing as well.

Hi guys,

I was wondering what do you guys do once you purchase the tokens. Do you spend time on monitoring the project and if so how do you do that?

I am collecting large dataset to better understand how you invest in ICO. We want to start a community due diligence project, which could provide better information about ongoing ICOs and protect you from the scam ICOs. Let's get rid of the bad ICO apples!

In order to do that I need your help! If you ever invested in ICOs (at least one) fill in this survey (won't take you more than 5 minutes.) May the blockchain be with you!

https://tilburglawschool.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3sCWmLd0wY1OK3P

I follow discussions on the forums and in the Telegram groups. This helps me to keep abreast of the latest news about the project and ask the questions that are of interest to the developers.

I track updates on the telegram, Twitter, and Reddit. I think that these ways are the most convenient for receiving news and useful information.

I find that telegram and twitter are the quickest ways to find the most relevant information. The community moves so quickly so it can be difficult to keep up at times.

Their last successful project Vreo. https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-mtc-token-sale-vreo-embedded-in-game-advertising-2886707 I think the project will be a new round in the gaming and advertising industry. Here is their Telegram grp: https://t.me/vreoico

Should always see soft cap and hardcap, Softcap is the minimum target to be achieved by the project and Hardcap is the maximum funds achieved by the project, while Hardcap is a project that reaches Hardcap then ICO process stops even though ico time must last before you follow ICO You must know exactly what the project looks like by looking at their WEB and WHITEPAPER And looking at their offerings, their strategies for promoting their project and their Team should be people with project experience.

I use

coinmarketcap,
social media (telegram, reddit, twitter)
blockfolio and cryptocompare

I only invest in projects, that i believe in longterm. I sell my inital investment after 1x-3x, a bit if it reaches 5x and bit more above 10x depending on the market or the longterm potential. When I bought Neo below 10 USD and Tron below 0.003 i knew, that the team was strong enough, so i held onto them. And i will continue to do so for the next 2 years. (Of course i took some profits in december, but not that much)

to discover new projects i use

Youtube (secondary source, since projects tend to grow after they are mentioned there, so i use my other sources to find great projects, before they are mentioned anywhere)
ICO Spreadsheets and Review Websites (primary source, i discovered so many great projects, that i would have missed otherwise)
Telegram Research Communities (primary source,)

My favourite resources:

Youtuber:

Coin Bloq: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCCatR7nWbYrkVXdxXb4cGXw
CrushCrypto: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu1-oBOM-DzJ89o02Bx3XYw

Spreadsheets:

Titan Research Summary: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Ja83ZCDDOgNXNYatD5w-2grA8IENuSwGjtSHWOG247E/edit#gid=1971583068
(they collected almost any spreadsheet out there)

Lendex:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vScEz0nAEoBr9a7aJ5qKEsdIzORuycAzWjDpSwCa-jHnNLpyXyrzwv2_1l69gfLEutLIY4XVLmQklMV/pubhtml#
(His trackrecord is pretty good)

Communites:

Ohheymattey, Cryptobriefing and Titan Research (even though it is pretty new)

Anything else? nah i think i got anything. My resources allow me to quickly filter through a lot of good icos and give me enough time to research the best ones for myself. Spreadsheets are pretty good, to cut my inital research step atleast at half, because i don't have to deal with a thousand crappy icos lised on listing pages.

Since I am a long term investor only, I tend not to look at social channels (incl. Discord/Telegram) too often.

I do keep track of my pf (based on CMC). I also check the official website every once a while.

Mostly if there is anything important to know, you'll find out about it anyway (mailing list, twitter and such), but I am not actively looking for updates.

You can ask every scam questions for understanding about project. What do you need to know: white paper, card and soft cap, actual topic of project, for what money, how they built promotion, what the team, what the token.
Indeed. Asking and clearing of questions and doubt is always necessary to ensure that you have invested in the right ICO project. One must ask questions to the team on twitter or telegram group about their development, their vision, their soft cap and whether they are arranging bounty campaigns or other activities for promotion. Also keep yourself updated about the project by asking questions about their work and progress.

Do you check the information also from another source than the team? It is of course very likely that the information from the team will be biased.

Personally I myself using every possible source of the project to know about the ICO project in which in invested Because I know very well that these are the things are run by the people simply and they may do mistake to give information at particular place .
So I follow them at every social media and also I keeps visit Daily at Thier site to know new new update and also I keeps to visit Thier telegram group and channels .
But besides these things one of the most important place to see new new things about the particular ICO is to remain in contact with the friend circle of cryptourrency groups , as I am in 4+ telegram group where many types of traders and investors are and making share of Thier views and also opinion with new new update , this is really advantageous thing because one person can't handle all things but many can do by Sharing information to each other .

For me, I usually track the development progress and how the team spreads the words about their ICO: Product + Marketing. They dont need to be very active on telegram channel, but they should attend and hold sessions on blockchain conference, also hold the meet up for investors in some big markets.
Actually I set a lot of requirements on searching and selecting ICO, one of that is it should have a clear roadmap for at least the first year. And ICO should have Demo or MVP before ICO starting.
Those are the two main aspects for any project to succeed. The product must be of some utility in solving some real world problems and the marketing must be done effectively. Also the promotion plays in important role to make an ICO succeed.

The product won’t have demand even if it is quite useful and the technology is quite advanced unless the promotion is done effectively by arranging bounty campaigns, etc and by letting people know about it. product, marketing and promotion if done effectively can make any ICO succeed.

Check website, talk with team, check what new about team and product in web
Checking of website can provide all the information about the project, its development team and its roadmap, but it doesn’t provide update on the progress made by it. New updates before launching on website are usually announced on twitter or telegram page. Reading of whitepaper and other information on the website is useful, but progress of the project can only be known on social medias.

I don’t usually invest in ICO’s nowadays, but when I do, I try to get regular updates about its work and progress. I usually monitor the ICO’s I have invested in by following their twitter page and joining there telegram group.

These two are the best sources to be updated on the project you have invested in. Any news updates are always first posted on twitter and then blog in made and link is posted in telegram group. Also, you have chance to clear your doubts and speak about project in telegram group to the admin.

I've been using this website for a while:

https://icostats.com/roi-since-ico

You can select various statistics, the most useful are "return of investment since ICO" and the % increases against fiat and against BTC. There's also a ranking, you can set them in order and see what ICO performed best. Stratis was one of the best and I still hate how I missed that one. I has been pretty disappointing after the peak tho, you can see the evolution here:

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/stratis/

Anatomy of a bubble 101... if Stratis has a future, then the ideal time to buy would be now. The alternative is being stuck in the stagnating limbo like most altcoins, so beware of that.

If I invested in a project, then I mentally say goodbye to this money. It seems to me that this is the right decision, because when the project turns out to be a scam, it will be easier for me to understand that this has already passed, and otherwise I just receive letters from the project.

I always join social media accounts of ICO especially telegram group as the latest news appear there firstly. If you think telegram is very chaotic source, try twitter instead. In addition to that I have telegram bot which updates me with current price of the coin. I also monitor price on exchanges where each token is listed to know current situation.

I think this kind of research is not very useful. every one will invest in ico, should be based on the knowledge and make research with some other ico. analyzing as a whole becomes an important part. and the rest follow developments for the development that the ico company will do.

wow this is a great means of monitoring an ICO that you have already invested in, cause their social media platform is a channel were information concerning the ICO will be distributed. i formally just rely only on their telegram page alone but now i have learnt to follow them on all their social media.

I started the thread because I wanted to figure out what do people do before and after they invest. I really do this research as my work, but I also want to help community distinguish the good apples from the bad apples. I am involved in few due diligence projects that will try to solve the issue of screening of ICO projects as non profits (not doing the ICO themselves).

It would help me a lot if you filled in this questionnaire, it asks you exactly the questions about your way of doing due diligence and monitoring projects. And even if you don't fill it in, I wish you good luck in choosing the right ICO for you. Peace.

Basically, I follow the telegram channel and the project's twitter, there the actual information about the project appears first of all. Often I follow the news about the project from other sources of information, sometimes it is very useful.

Which of the sources is most useful?
It is better to monitor several sources of information, but in my opinion the most useful source of information is the project's telegram channel.

But monitoring Telegram is very difficult, it is chaotic and people posting are being fairly random. How do you monitor the telegram then?

in my way, I join the original public channel of ICOs, some chat group ( which original too, with some admin from manager team and dev team of the coin)
I think that's pretty enough, maximum 3 channels for 1 ICO, cause I don't have that much time to take a look at all the ICOs that I invested if I follow too much.

Scary that out of the first 10 or so people nobody is following the wallets. We need to follow the wallets to hold these people accountable, that is why there is a transparent blockchain in the first place!

Indeed that is weird but don't you think that many people don't know how to do that?

in fact, all listed options can be attributed to the most used. you can add a study of social networks of project participants! this important factor greatly influences the choice of the project.

If the community is active then I would join the Telegram that they have and discuss what I need to know about the project. Reading the website helps a lot.

Many of you are asking this question. Many of you spend hours researching new ICO projects, reading forums trying to find the proper information, get the knowledge and make the right move. I am sure you  are already aware that it is not the most efficient way. It takes time and all of us have to do the same ground work over and over again separately.

Of course there are rating websites, which tell us what the best ICOs should be but after reviewing 120 projects myself I had very different views on most of the ICO rated as the best ones.

Of course you can discuss with others on the forum but almost no one there does exhaustive and systematic research on ICOs, so lot of info but may not be relevant or very much biased by one’s opinion.

ICO investors need to protect themselves and unfortunately, ICOs are still largely unregulated so we cannot expect that somebody else will search for and punish “bad apples”.
So we decided crypto community needs a proper Due Diligence project based on the knowledge of you all. We would like to build it from the ground up and we are open to any comments, suggestions and ideas. However first we need to know, how you guys actually screen ICO projects, what you look at and what you maybe neglect. So that we can focus our attention on those things. If you fill in this survey you will help us understand exactly that. We are doing this for the community, to create better, accurate and independent ICO reviews.

Let’s discuss first how you screen ICO projects and what exactly you look at!

On my case I search the internet aside from hearing it on the telegram or whatever means just to see how the team have already done so far. I choose the internet first just to gain inputs if such an ICO is not going anywhere or if they are really making their progress. The ones who are very much known would surely be on the top of the list. So with this things happening you can really tell where is your ICO going. Words are not enough, sometimes words are so easy to be falsified and the unrealistic ideas be given real life. This is what happens to scams. It is a waste of both time and money and the excitement that goes from sleepless nights of expectations to a heavy feeling of burden left on your shoulder. So we must be very vigilant at all times, not to listen to people easily but to learn to investigate the real status of your ICOs.

The usual thing is to have a portfolio tracker, particularly if you hodl many coins or tokens. You can use coinmarketcap directly if you only have a few and don´t mind browsing around.

Blockchain Evangelist.

I mostly follow the teams updates on telegram/twitter and reddit. Most of the projects I've invested in also post development updates on Medium and those give a good overview of the state of progress.

You can ask every scam questions for understanding about project. What do you need to know: white paper, card and soft cap, actual topic of project, for what money, how they built promotion, what the team, what the token.

After I invest in ico, I always monitor to see ico development, did it reach soft cap, hard cap or not at all. I also joined their social media group to get the latest information from the team and see the enthusiastic investors there. I always do the discussion, in their social media group and with my local community.

There is an ico group that has more than 24k member right now. And i'm one of members. As far as i know some people will try to do audit to the smartcontract code and other try to do another thing. it looks like the majority of people are doing various audit to prove if that was a scam ico or not. But to follow  what has been written in the whitepaper will become a good step i thought.

When I invest in an ICO, I always see to it that I will be informed of the latest news and updates not just of the ICO itself but of the project in general. I will always be in their telegram. The fastest way to reach the team will always be there. Responses in official telegram channels are way faster as compared to their social media accounts and their ANN threads here. But it does not mean that you will not monitor the project through other means as well. You need to visit their website, official social media accounts, and ANN threads regularly.
