To put it simply, I'm someone who values my privacy A LOT. And along with that, I was undecided at first with the idea of self-custody over my money, but when I experienced it with Bitcoin, I immediately realized that there was no going back. Having total control over my money, meaning no centralized entity can simply revoke my access to my funds, makes me sleep a lot better at night.
Sounds a lot like somebody I know. I used to ask him what if he already has work in the physical world? Then what would happen to his bitcoin and his activities that involves it? His answer was simple: "I have no plans of stopping with bitcoin. It has been part of my system and helped me a lot financially." (Non-verbatim)

And that's one reason I love bitcoin. It's able to help someone regardless of his situation in life, whether you're a student or a professional, or just simply an enthusiast. It's a breakthrough and I'm glad I have experienced such an amazing creation.

Note: I created this thread as an attempt to gain more knowledge about bitcoin, especially for myself.
I think what you are looking for is an advice or something that will deepen your understanding about bitcoin in general.

Well for me being a Computer Engineering student that requires a profound knowledge of technical stuff, bitcoin helps me to slowly understand and become passionate of the underlying technology that sits under the hood of bitcoin which leaves me to become fascinated about how encryption/ cryptography works, to become passionate about programming and to have a willingness to learn trading skills.

At least if ever bitcoin fails us, there is something useful that we can offer not only to ourselves but also to the public

This may be personal, but my love for bitcoin stems on the opportunity that I can provide to my family.

As someone who lives in a third-world country and lives with a single dad with a family of four (me, being the eldest), the income is relatively divided and allocated to my brothers. Since they are younger, the priorities are shifted to their educational needs.

When I discovered bitcoin last 2017, the proceeds that I received from campaign signatures significantly helped and at least alleviated my situation as I used them mainly to purchase books for college. Since I chose a degree that is related to law (legal management), I still use the same books for my law school currently. In this way, I indirectly helped my father to mitigate the expenses as I always tell him that my brothers are the top priority and that he does not need to worry about me.

I understand that people highly advise to avoid spending their BTCs as it has the potential to double or triple its price in the incoming future but the needs of my family outweigh the potential benefit of it.

I try to use bitcoin as it's supposed to be used: as currency, and one day I hope everyone will.

I mostly buy giftcards, which I then use to buy stuff with > clothes, electronics (phone, tv, you name it) and even booze. I even order food online using BTC.

F*ck, I'm loving it! Especially at current prices. Can't wait till the day all (or most important) companies start to accept BTC directly.

There are many ways you can do to express yourself as someone who really likes bitcoin, one of which is by utilizing its technology. Using bitcoin as a means of payment such as domain payments, hosting and other payments. I also started investing in bitcoin and every day what I do is check bitcoin prices. my interest for Bitcoin makes my everyday life inseparable from bitcoin and trading. Trading with bitcoin will bring me extra income. But still with basic knowledge about trading.

I do not know if a thread can lead to knowledge, knowledge requires study, not information. Many confuse reading with knowledge, I repeat knowledge is something profound, some believe they have it, but it is a daily activity that requires a lot of effort.
Maybe, but at least I can consider this as a starting point to start something better.

I think your thread would deal with more of that feeling that you can have with bitcoin, regardless of whether you know a lot or little, because in reality to love bitcoin you only need to know that it exists.
And yes, not all of us have the same perception of how we use and love bitcoin in our daily lives and everyone in this community knows that bitcoin is something that has no physical but exists.

My love of bitcoin is twofold.

(1) I love that it's a new asset to invest in.
(2) I love that Bitcoin is the first use of blockchain technology,
The two point you mentioned are the two thing we have gotten with bitcoin so far apart from that we have a lot more other uses which are just as good. But it's good that your two point already represent some of the benefit of bitcoin. But you shouldn't forget about the main benefit of bitcoin as a payment system.

As a tradable asset, bitcoin certainly has risks. I once read an article that a person's habit of trading activities is like an addiction that is difficult to break. Profit and losses are a consequence of this activity so that the person will continue to monitor price development in the market to get something profitable.

If you really love bitcoin, then probably you are relying on its price the whole time which is wrong.

If you really love bitcoin, you will make yourself grow with it.

I knew a lot of people who are losing a lot of money in bitcoin because they are so into it that they always forget what is the proper thing to do. They just make transactions without thinking twice so that not how you love bitcoin.

Also if you're a good user or a good influence to other users or investors, then you are considered a bitcoin lover because you are building reputation and supporting bitcoin community.

I really love bitcoin to the point that I always monitor its price in the market and it is one of my priorities in life.

I do believe on its full potential and good amount of profits while making transactions with it.

Bitcoin is really not that hard to invest when you studied and learn how it works in the market. Courage and patience is what you need when you tried it and once you are in to it, that's the time when you will love bitcoin the most. Although bitcoin is volatile, you just need to accept it just like when you love someone, you need to accept him/her no matter what.

My love of bitcoin is twofold.

(1) I love that it's a new asset to invest in. The fact that bitcoin exists not through a company or country, but rather as a "natural resource" of sorts, is amazing. It's a great way to diversify assets and also participate in something that's so much bigger than each of us. The swings are wild but i've never felt uneasy about investing or hodling bitcoin.

(2) I love that Bitcoin is the first use of blockchain technology, which will revolutionize so many systems that are fundamental to how we live. The way that information flows in certain industries is incredibly antiquated, and usually because the companies or entities that industry don't have incentive to involve. However blockchain can bring the change that's needed to allow that industry activity to better serve its customers. Prime examples are:
  • Financial payments
  • Voting
  • Medical record keeping
  • and helping reduce fraud in so many other industries

I think your thread would deal with more of that feeling that you can have with bitcoin, regardless of whether you know a lot or little, because in reality to love bitcoin you only need to know that it exists. Knowledge neither brings you closer nor takes you away. These things don't necessarily go together. Many even hate it and have more technical knowledge than those who use it daily.

I am not a new user on this forum, but I can still be considered a new person when it come to my knowledge of bitcoin. I know that nothing will limit us from knowing more about bitcoin. Increasing understanding and knowledge about all thing about bitcoin is the most recommended thing if we are in this forum. I know this forum is the best place to talk about bitcoin because we have knowledgeable and experienced people here.

So far I only know that bitcoin is a tradable asset as well as a decentralized payment system. My love for bitcoin may only be limited to enjoying its use as a valuable asset as well as a payment system and it may be very different from your love for bitcoin. I would really appreciate your comment and hope that I get more insight into bitcoin based on your experience and knowledge of bitcoin.

I just wanted to know. How do you state yourself as someone who loves bitcoin after it reaches a decade old ?
