As a sort of workaround, you can simply do what the "all" page link does on long threads.

;all
That only works until around 26 pages. When "All" doesn't show, it doesn't work. See this example.

;all

eg: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5173810.0;all

Granted, this will include all the formatting etc... but at least you get the full thread on one page.

LoyceV has a tool which should do what you are looking for here: "Show All" on long topics.
Sorry, it's temporarily out of order. I was moving everything to a VPS, which turned out to be unreliable. I'm now moving everything to an old netbook, but I need some time.

Feel free to PM me your request for a thread, I can easily create something like this.

Update: it works again, see "Show All" on long topics.

As theymos says in the thread linked above, you can also just use the search box from within the thread you're interested in to only search within that thread.

You used to be able to hit print but now that's disabled. That's what the conventional old method was.

Print works, but only on shorter threads. I'm not sure what the limit is at, but it's still handy for searching through shorter threads. You can also append ";wap", ";wap2" and ";imode" at the end of URLs for a lightweight text only link, but it only does one thread page at a time.

Someone showed me how to do it a while ago, makes it very easy to ctrl+f an entire thread, but  I can't remember who it was or how they did it.  Undecided

I know it involves appending something like this to the end of the url
Code:
?view=textonly
