I posted this a while ago, and this video is really amazing. I recommend everyone to watch it, so you can fully understand what is proof of work and how it really works. It is very simple and illustrative z and you will understand it.

THis is the best visual explanation about the blockchain i have ever seen. I recommend that everyone watches it.

https://anders.com/blockchain/

Anders explains in a very visual way what is a hash, what happens when you hash a block. What happens to that hash when someone alters a transaction. What is a nonce, what is mining.

This is a classic now.

I enjoy reading hackernoon.com posts about blockchain, cryptocurrency, ICOs and the related topics. they are usually very informative and easy to read.

I'm curious about what resources you all have used to get up to speed on blockchain, what's happening in the space and how it works.

Getting a grasp of the bitcoin whitepaper and ethereum whitepaper I used to feel were good places to start. But I found that the majority of non-technical people found it too technical or confusing. So I'm looking to see how others have done it or for the more experienced crypto / blockchain crowd here, when someone asks you how they can learn about blockchain, what do you say to them?

Here are some resources I normally share:

- How The Economic Machine Works - https://youtu.be/PHe0bXAIuk0 - You need to understand how money works
- https://lopp.net/bitcoin.html - one of the best resources online on bitcoin
- For anyone who really wants to dive deeper - https://github.com/jpantunes/awesome-cryptoeconomics amazing resource on cryptoeconomics

So what are your favourite blockchain resources for learning?

Very nice video explanation, the images  make t a lot of easier to understand. There's also this very simple and precise article about Blockchain : https://cointelegraph.com/bitcoin-for-beginners/how-blockchain-technology-works-guide-for-beginners#hash-function
This should be enough to someone understand how it works step by step.

I'll add more information about the blockchain. Velkro is right, you'll only need one source and the rest will be the opinions and summarize gathered important informations from the people who already study about it. You can find more about blockchain here in this thread https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/do-you-actually-know-what-blockchain-is-5059984, there is provided links of the site about blockchain.

One source is enough for me and for most people to in simple terms understand it all: Andreas Antonopolous.
He is truly advocate and preacher of pure knowledge about bitcoin in general.

The following article gives a good and simple explanation of how a blockchain works.
It shows it with nice illustrations, text and a explainer video.

For beginners this would be the page I would recommend to read.  Cool
