Basically, exchangers who trade with the pair of BTC and USD means that they will let you deposit USD from your bank account then they'll credit your balance once you do then you can happily buy any pairs with USD like BTC. You can do it in Poloniex for example.

For other cryptos, mostly exchange pair is between that coin and USD. Only picked coins can be paired to USD which depends on that specific trading platform.

So I'm a little new here and was wondering since most exchanges have bitcoin how does the exchange actually exchange the bitcoin to usd?
and would this process be the same for other cryptos?

I'm also looking for a script similar to localbitcoins and/or paxful
