Satoshi Dice actually runs on Bitcoinj which gives you a lot of control over seeing the transactions coming in and you can have events fire at that time.

Satoshi dice is a site in which users can send bitcoins to a specific address which corresponds to a bet (e.g. 50/50, 33%, etc)
