Their bank account at Bank of America just got frozen so they're scrambling to get more USD transfer options available.  The fees were pretty ridiculous though so that's fine Tongue Basically no exchange has a decent way to fund BTC which is why the currency isn't inflating much.  Paxum is basically a knock off of Paypal but with probably worse support and security but an exchange trying to manage all that financial BS themselves wouldn't be worth the money so it makes sense that they'd offload it someone else.

I wanted to buy some bitcoins on Tradehill, so I created an account with them.
Then I clicked on "Deposit Funds" and chose the currency.
Then, the web page said that they would contact me (via email, I presume) with the details how to deposit some funds with them.

So far, they have not contacted me - is that usual with Tradehill?
Is Tradehill a good choice?

Thanks in advance for all kinds of insights.

Tradehill is located in Chile. Ever give thought to what you would do if your transaction went down bad?

Tradehill currently only allows Paxum USD deposits. That may be the reason to not contact you.

I have never traded USD/btc or vice versa. So I can't tell you whether that's normal or not.

as far as options to trade goes, MtGOX.com is another famous exchange. Check http://bitcoincharts.com/markets/ for more exchanges.
